Description

This is a prototype of a platform rpg, the artwork is not mine, I'm using it just to express the references used to build the game, in the future the gameplay and the artwork will be completely different.

How to Play

Use the arrow keys to move left, right and jump, press A to attack.

A lot of work has to be done, and good thing u said atwork aint yours, as it,s Konami's, from the Castlevania series. If you build a solid game with original sprites and content around it though, you will get people's attention. if you keep same sprites, better rename it "Castlevania remake" or something...

The only other few complaints I have is with the enemies, there is no hit confirmation other than the first few gouls sound effects upon death, a hit sound or a particle effect on impact will help give me (the player) a better sense of my ability and attacks, as well as put weight in them. Also with the final skull boss I'm not sure I either got killed or I actually beat the skull, health bars or some sort of indication my enemy is hurt and dying would benefit a lot. (pt2)

So far really good, the movement feels nice and tight but my only complaint is with the attack. I really don't like how you freeze for a long time in one spot, and this doesn't balance out that you can still get hit while attacking as I found out. Maybe a dynamic attack system where you can move while attacking, or have the monsters stop for a moment before you land a quick poke and jump back. A more brawler type gameplay would also suit and compliment the control style, you already have great tight controls. (pt1)
