It's easy - the AI is handicapped AND doesn't play good. You just have to wait for him to make a bad move. Maybe it gets harder later on.

The later levels are hard, but the computer is just so stupid. It will always kill your guys if it has a chance instead of winning outright. So if you leave guys for it to slide along and kill then you're going to win in the end. Level 33 is just luck. After Level 49 it just resets, so don't expect anything dramatic.
