Flash End-of-Life, Ruffle Integration!
This game runs on Adobe Flash. Effective Jan. 2021, Adobe began blocking its flash player's use everywhere. Kongregate is now partnering with Ruffle to make some of our Flash content playable again. Please note: If you are using Ruffle, badges will not work normally. In order to earn a badge in a Flash game, you will need to complete the badge, then submit a screenshot (showing both proof of completion and your username) as a missing badge report using the report missing achievement option. Description
Description: A short experimental game about facing adversity
Additional Notes:
This game is about a corgi that wants to become an Octopus, representational of being more than average (fame/innovation).
I made this game for my girlfriend over Christmas break to inspire her artistic pursuits. She loves Corgis and Octopuses (or Octopi depending on how you like the plural form), so naturally I used those in the game.
It's more of an interactive story than a game, and is fairly short. So I would think it's best to be played and experienced first before reading too much about it.
It's okay if you don't get anything out of it. It's an experimental game, and is my first finished project so I'm not expecting perfection from it.
Feedback:
If you enjoy it feel free to leave a comment about what you liked and thought about the experience.
If you didn't enjoy it so much, that's fine too. I would appreciate hearing what about it was unpleasant for you.
I'll try my hardest to respond to most feedback anyone leaves for the game.
Also, if you get the chance check this out: http://portraiturefromthesurreal.tumblr.com Haley Craw does excellent work and has helped out a great deal in giving me feedback on my work.
How to Play
Controls:
Use WASD or left and right arrow keys to move. Your preference really.

When an octopus is stressed out it will start eating itself.

Obviously needs to be longer. Great concept, but I feel if you're trying to make a successful and similar game you'll need more scenes to get the point across more clearly. Good job otherwise

When I try to play, I get the message "Download the latest Flash Player" after the loading screen. I'm running Google Chrome which always has the latest Flash Player version automatically, so I don't understand. Screenshot of the issue: http://puu.sh/6mTp6.png
If it helps, Flash Player version is 12.0.0.41 and Google Chrome version is 32.0.1700.76 beta-m.
