Description

You died and have been sent to hell, but you're not ready to give up on life yet! You still have unfinished business! So, out of desperation, you make a deal with the devil. Get to the end of his gauntlet, and earn your freedom.

My first game ever made for the GiTD(Game in Ten Days) competition on the Kongregate forums. It isn't that good I'll admit but hopefully experience from this will help me develop better games in the future.

How to Play

Arrow keys or WASD to move and jump. Space to activate hint monoliths and go to the next level.

Level layout is nice, but some things that need to be adjusted: jumping, now you kind of 'teleport', which is just a bit weird, going left and right is too choppy to make jumps intuitive. It also makes it hard to check if you got yourself on a jumping platform, they move while the player doesnt. Lastly think about a way to make the stalactites blend better with the background, as they kind of look like things that will lower your health now.
Anyways, good luck with game development :)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I know the movement isn't that great. :\ I coded it from scratch in FlashDevelop since it gives you more freedom with what you want to do compared with using an engine such as Construct or Stencyl but it also meant that I spent most of my development time learning Class-based programming and couldn't find the time to do everything I wanted. I planned to improve the controls at a later date but despite spending almost the entirety of the last day I had before I had to submit it for GiTD working on it I eventually ran out of time. I was planning to do a lot more, I had plans to have a grappling hook, a bow weapon, at least ten levels and heck, even a bit of story. I think I underestimated how hard making a game is and bit off more than I could chew but now I'll know for next time! Maybe I'll come back to it at a later date with no time constraints and make it how I originally imagined it. Thanks again for the comment, it means a lot to me. :)
