Description

This is a simple game I made for a school project. The game's purpose is to describe the potential effects (both positive and negative) of video games on academic performance, and educate students on how to limit the negatives and maximize the positives.

The current time and homework/quizzes/tests are located on the top right of your screen.

The game eventually ended up as not only an educator on video game effects but on time management game as well. This was unintentional.

How to Play

The counters at the bottom are your Happiness and Grade counters--one marked with a smiley face, and one with a A+ icon. Your goal is to make them both as high as possible (note: Happiness is capped at 100, while Grades can go infinitely high.)

The actions you can perform are marked by five clickable buttons:
Paper: Do Homework (+++Grades, ---Happiness)
Pac-Man: Play Video Games (- to --- Grades, +++ Happiness)
Open Book: Study(+++Grades, ---Happiness--but be aware that not studying for quizzes and especially tests can have massive, negative consequences on your Grades)
ZZZ: Sleep (Note: This will end the day immediately without any prompts, so be careful about clicking near that icon)
Question Mark: Personal Interest (+ Grades, ++ Happiness)

To perform an action, click on the icon for that action, and input the number of minutes you wish to perform that action. In the case of Studying, use the first box to indicate which test you wish to study for (1-first on the list, 2-second, 3-third).

Not completing homework or staying up too late will have huge penalties on your Grades.

If your Grades drop to 0, you will immediately flunk out of school and lose the game.
If your Happiness drops to 0 (which is unlikely), you will immediately drop out of school and lose the game.
If you manage to survive 28 days, you will get a final score and a final grade. The higher it is, the better. (Highest grade is at 800 points)
