Description
Helichopter is an Awesome game where you fly around blow stuff up, upgrade, build turrets, and rescue civilians. The objective is, as in any game, to kill all of the bad guys and defeat the big boss.
I started on Helichopter on January 10th and did 98% of everything myself. Obviously things could be better with it as it is with any game, but I really wanted to get something in for the contest, and to show that you can actually make a fun game with Unity, and do it fast.
How to Play
WSAD to Fly.
Left click to shoot Machine Gun.
Right Click shoots seeking Missiles that target the nearest enemy to your cursor.
Middle mouse or thumb button to drop a bomb for $250
Space to drop turrets after they're purchased.
Q and E to rotate your artillery turrets, and click on the gizmo to make them auto fire.
When you die, it costs $250 to respawn.
1, 2, 3, 4 - Quick buying of Turrets.
Left Shift - activates your Pickup Beam
More instructions in the game.

Love this update, and it saddens me that we only get one more. All in all, this is a great game, and I have come back many times to replay it. Here are a few things I would like to see in the next update: 1) Flying enemies- possibly deployed at airfields or flying in from afar. 2) Civillian uses. I know that rescueing a civillian increases income, but money is never really a problem, so it would be nice to be able to assign them to do other things such as repair the base, build robot allies, etc. 3) Turret selling. Sometimes I just want one of my turrets gone because it is essentially useless in this situation or I want to replace it with another one. 4) Structures. I'd like the ability to have a more substantial and permanent "Hold the Line" tactic. Perhaps allowing the construction of bases would add another layer of depth to the game. .

Ah, sorry for the third comment in such a short time, but I just discovered another problem. Sometimes the large amounts of explosions and bullets on screen cause the game to crash. You may want to consider adding some graphics options. Another idea would be small/medium/large battlefields along with difficulty settings. The large battlefield would have many enemy bases, but you'd receive a massive base with heavy defenses , a high starting income, 3 different "sections", and a bigger turret limit. The medium battlefield would be what we have now, with 2 sections. The smaller battlefield would have very few enemy bases and only one section, but the base would be very small and weak, and the income would be low.

Thanks for the comments clasher! While the next update will be the last one for this game, I'm probably going to do another Helichopter game or two... They'll be similar but the game play/progression/levels will be actually planned out. I'll also have more than 5 days to do all of the art and get it working in game :p. I have previously thought about a lot of the issues you mentioned and it just came down to time in the end. Originally I did want to make enemy jets and helicopters, they'll be in future games. I also wanted to make a healing turret, a barricade, an anti missile laser turret and a AA/flak turret. I thought about selling turrets, but now that you can move them I didn't really feel like it was really needed. Maybe I'll look into putting that in quick.

The 1,000 character limit forced me to devide my comment into 2 seperate ones, sorry.
Anyways, 5) Minor graphics improvements- You don't need to texture the background, it looks a lot better flat green. Also, try to round out the terrain if you can. 6) Animation. It bothers me that the enemy troops just sort of hover forward. 7) Civilian bugfix. I don't know if this has already been done, but the civilians sometimes jump out sideways and fail to find the base. 8) Rotation. Make the enemy troops and tanks rotate over the terrain realistically
