Okay... This game got too annoying for me too fast. First off, ships fly out of nowhere behind you, some so fast that if you aren't in their kamikaze strike path, then you are guaranteed to be hit. No matter how fast your ship is. Second, there are no weapons to offer protection from behind or to the sides, so if you can't clean up from destroying the enemy moving side to side, then you are guaranteed to be hit, whether its by the amount of bullets or the kamikaze ships flying at you. And seeing that the kamikaze ships don't explode on impact, then you might have them slam into you twice, which does A LOT more damage than the bullets.
So, to fix this game: Offer better weapons. Kamikaze ships explode on impact. And slow down the ships coming in, especially from behind.

that ghost disc ship keeps forming right on top of me now matter when on the screen I am it keeps kamakazing me. makes world 4.1 virtually impossible, also I notice the Lazers seem to be a bit glitch had one that stayed on the whole trip down the screen was unavoidable. On 4.2 the Sentries are just insane there is no way to avoid them and they are virtually indestructible.
seems the only way one might win this is grind until old and gray or hack.

Please make Y and Z interchangeable for all purposes. I'm using a German keyboard, which exchanges Y and Z in the layout.

The player ship should be a lot smaller or have a smaller hit box so we can move around more
And there should be more variety of parts and weapons
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Around level three i had the overwhelming desire to go kamikaze into the nearest ship. this happened just after i bought all the four upgrades available. coincidence?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh, and some of the boredom and tediousness might be alieviated if I could buy another weapons' slot. Just saying that the three on offer initially get really old and useless really fast...

Takes entirely too long to get underway. If you enjoy grinding the same level over and over again, though, this is the perfect game for you.

By the 4th level of the second planet it just got stupid. The size of your ship versus the number of bullets/ships/obstacles is ridiculous.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
so uhh...yeah...1/5 for save option not working...4th time its happened now...
fix that and its 5/5 but no point in playing if you cant save

The thing I find most limiting is not the large ship size, or the lack of agility (thought both of these are problems) but the store. I have cash to burn, but nothing new, better or more powerful to spend it on until I get to the next world. One set of upgrades per world. That pisses me off.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Too grindy, too hard to dodge much of anything, weapons too limited, upgrades far too locked down (if you are going to make a game grindy, at least let grinding get you better equipment)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have only 2 complaints about this game and that are 1- the ship is too SLOW and 2- the hit area is the entire ship wich makes dodging with such low agility impossible even at lower levels
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The ship is too large to have any mobility. don't get me wrong it's a good game, but you aren't very agile. The first boss alone is very hard because even with the upgraded shield and engine you can't even dodge the guns due to lack of mobility and large hit space. Normal SHMUPS have smaller hit boxes(a few pixels), making the hit box would make up for the lack of agility instead of havng every inch of this big slow ship vulnerable. You're trying to crossbreed a game like Dodonpachi with Raiden and it just doesn't work at times. If you want "Bullet hell" moments, you need to lower the hitbox and increase mobility.

Needs more weapon variety. Good at its' core, lot of issues sort of kill the overall experience. In particular Coeus is basically a giant exhibition of things I didn't like in this game. Final boss is also way, way too easy compared to Black Hole 1.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Dodging would be a fine strategy if the ship had some agility. As it stands, agility sucks, which makes dodging more difficult than it should be.

This game takes grinding to a new level. Aside from only gaining a fraction of XP/money if you die, if you complete a level again, the XP you get from killing enemies is also reduced.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
There is almost no difference between weapons in terms of damage, the leveling is slow (especialy because you die all the time and only get 1/3 of all) your movement is slow whic is the main reason you die all the time (and there are enemies who slow you down even further, come on) and generally every level just rapes you while shouting "surprise buttsecks!"

When the game started I was like, HECK YES 1 G3T 2 LVL UP!!! Sadly this game was boring. Way to slow on the expansion of purchasable items. I tried, I really tried to get past the fourth area of Damura but it was boring so I could not help but quit. If this is the trend for the rest of the game, beating four areas to unlock stuff is just too boring. Sorry AfroNinja, this game is not my style.

Upgrade system looks like it has potential, but there is far too much grinding. Also, why did you not provide autofire?!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Really needs an autofire. There's no good reason to stop shooting, so save my fingers from having to hold a key down the entire time I play.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Please add autofire and WSAD controls. Also, something worth buying after the first level would get you a lot more players, right now it looks like a dull top-down shooter in the first few levels.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
very good game but frustrating at times, don't like to grind for hours just to pass certain levels starting world options a pain, ship responsiveness a bit off at times auto fire would be good. not being able to unlock 2nd weapon annoying. It should be purchasable but no indication of when I would get it. Getting less and less exp each run is ridiculous. I understand its for game longevity and I don't mind having to replay a level a few times but looking ahead I don't see this game as fun later on, just repetitive. People need to feel that they are progressing this feels like you are at a standstill until you learn each level and have a bit of luck to pass it. 4/5 you lose 1 point for the above reasons.

hm, do i ever get any better upgrades? Also starting rifle is much better than any of the 2 upgrades given. I give it 3/5
it's on the pause menu and listed in the kongregate instructions, not to mention that pressing 'm' anywhere will mute which is pretty standard for flash games :(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Speed does not seem to do anything in this game i get better engines and nada in terms of improved movement FIX, Virtually no effect from any of the boost other then armor. over all 2/5 sorry it needs work but i see potential in it; it could be a 5/5 for me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Afroninja: many of the people who "hate" this and score it low might simply be getting bored on the first mission and stopping. This game has much more customization than most shooters, but there's no hint of that when you first start playing. The first mission is mindless and dull. Some people might not keep playing past it to see that there's more to the game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Needs balancing for later levels the reduction in EXP gain make this more grindy then it needs to be. game looses a lot of fun by world 3.2 due to all the grinding needed.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
nice shooter with great graphics and effects. the ship is a bit clunky- i'd prefer a bit more streamlineing but still a load of fun 4/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
this game's a 5/5 for me - it's challenging, has good production values, and is a perfect time-waster - so I can't figure out it's rated so low.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great game. It would be nice to have more weapons options at each level, since on some levels you don't have much choice; maybe add more upgraded versions of older weapons?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Can you please put in a function to change the controls?
Because as they are right now I can't move in every direction while shooting.
