either I'm the most unlucky person in the world or the computer are rolling much larger dice than I am... I've been using an army that I continually replenish to 15 to take out a country with a standing army of no more than 6 and I've lost all of my men down to 1 ten times in a row... I've seriously spent 140 men trying to capture this european country and the enemy has only lost maybe 25.

Got to 1 point where I had 14 territories against the enemies 4 yet he made a comeback taking away 8 of mine, so I just quit in awe..

I like risk, so i was ready to like this game, but something went wrong. There is only one thing you need to get spot on with a risk game, and that is the dice. However, this game seems broken in that respect. When i need to have 3x the defending number to win a territory something isnt right.

Pretty good, feels like risk with dumb people though. The AI is my only really complaint, other than that make things a little more flashy and the game could get some pretty good ratings.

What's really annoying is that you can't move more than one man into a territory you just captured, meaning it's hard to capture allot of land in one movement. It's an OK Beta, but it needs allot of work.
2/5

I keep trying this game again. I like the basic idea and mechanics, so I keep giving it another chance. And every time I do, the computer gets another ridiculous string of success. This last time I had the computer almost beaten, when he took 4 of my territories in a row with almost no losses on his side. He went from struggling to powerhouse almost instantly. So just like the last 3 times I played, I quit the game halfway through out of disgust. I understand that the game needs some challenge, but this isn't fun.

pretty cool game, only problem i have is that the computers are really slow to take their turns and they don't attack very often... but still, good game, 5/5 + faved

It's at a point where the AI players have way more troops than me, but refuse to move (on me, or each other), so everyone just keeps adding troops... That is, the AI is in some dumb loop unless I attack, even though I'm weaker (the won't attack each other)...

There is a horrible bug in this game. Every now and then when I add armies and press "Ok" it SUBTRACTS that amount of armies from my territory! This is most frustrating.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It could be such a great version of Risk, but its buggy where sometimes it subtracts the number of armies you are "adding" to a country at the beginning of a turn. Sometimes during a battle it will say it is subtracting 1 army, but it will really subtract 4 or 5 or 16. The balance issues just make it slow going.

i like how completely random the army placement is at the beginning. sometimes its rather equal. sometimes they have twice as many... i just did one where my average per country was 4 and theres was 7. and one game i started with 37 armies in one country. way way way too much luck

The statistics for the offense/defense rolls were not well thought out. In Risk, which this game is obviously based on, the defender gets to defend with a max of 2 dice, but wins ties. This offsets the advantage of winning ties. In this game, both attackers and defenders roll the same amount of dice (if more than 3 troops), but defender wins ties. Even if the AI is not cheating, this gives the defender a tremendous boon. There needs to be more advantage to attackers.

found a bug... i had 11 armies on Japan when i finished a turn, by the time it got back to my turn, only 2 were left, and noone attacked it

Moving at end of turn sucks. Should be able to move in as many as you want at the end of an attack. Also, in RISK defender only has two dice.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
As so many others have said, the random number generator is fucked up. The computer consistently wins every battle. I've started the game 5 times now and after every first round by the AI I have less than 10 troops left. Something's not right.

I really wanted to like this game, but unfortunately it sucks. It could be an awesome game, but it's horribly unplayable right now.

I just attacked one country with a score of four with five countries with a score of four. Every single attack resulted in a big ol' -3 for my countries.
Every. Single. One.
1'd forever.

I understand your points of viex about the randomize because i also thinks it fucks but if it was really randomized it would be too much easy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hmm - if these rolls were realistic the computer shouldn't be winning 2/3rds of the engagements. Definitely unfair.
I can see where this would be fun as a multiplayer. But right now it all comes down to luck, how you start.

I was in south america with like 13 territorys... and suddenly one of my enemeys starts to just kill everything. It won every roll and beat me down to like 5... in one round without losing anything! wtf. damn rng!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i's sad because the graphics are nice, change the balance and re-prog the IA (I can gice you some advise if you want to)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I am not sure if it's my bad luck or poor random dice design. But the randomization seems to heavily favor the NPC in single player mode. I've played 10 games in a row and I cannot win a single colony and the computer always beats me. Still a good game, 4/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Clicked "start" and the computer promptly played the entire game, effectively wiping me out without me needing to click again. Pointless.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Attempt to improve on risk failed. It is too risky to attack since the defender gets 3 dice along with the attacker. I lost a battle when I had 20 and the defender had 3. Luck should not play that much if the game says strategy, strategy and more strategy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Nice game. It is different enough from Risk (no Blitzkreig; play one continent at a time) to be quite interesting. A few typos but no bugs. The AI is flawed but better than most for games of this type.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Total "Risk"; limiting it to one section of the world at a time speeds play, but means you have a harder time offsetting losses with gains elsewhere. Meh. 3/5, but only because I like "Risk".

This game is horrible. The first game I've voted 1-star on, and the only game I've ever wished I could vote 0 on. The AI is crap. I kept a guy with 120 armies surrounded with 1-army countries, with one big 80-army sitting next door. Instead of quickly sweeping up the 1-armies to boost his production, he occasionally wasted a few on my big guy. The computer never attacks enough to be effective, either. To cap it off, the defender's advantage in this game is DISGUSTING. If you're going to make a Risk clone, realize that there is a reason why the defender only gets two dice. It's called "balance", and this game has none.
