Really great game. I generally love retro-vania games and this one is no exception. A few things though: i would have found pleasant to be able to jump with the 'up' key rather than the 'a' key -- more generally configurable controls are always welcome. The soundtrack also gets a bit old pretty quick; adaptive tunes would have been nice. Last, the exclamation marks do not exactly match the active areas which is not only weird but also sometimes frustrating (it seems there's a 20px difference, more or less). Still 5/5.
this was the best set we could come up with for the actions/movements we wanted to put in, but there's been enough feedback asking for configurable controls so i'll try and get that implemented in future releases.

I love the chip tunes and the general retro styling of the game. I think the controls are horrible though; can we not have an option to redefine keys please?

So, a person being confused and accidentally missing something gives you the right to be an asshole to them? Right. Couldn't have said it nicer, huh? Prick.
do you know what constructive criticism means? the only time i've been 'a bit of an asshole' was when the suggestion was blatantly wrong (asking for additional confirmation on quitting the game - which already is there). sit down.

Retro platformer par excellence! The jumping was a bit glitchy at times, and I had trouble getting Jon out of the water at times; however, this could be because I personally hate jump buttons set on "A." Loved the story, music, and world. Although, I think Jon acted a bit rashly when he got inside the factory. But then again, as Karserus pointed out, those guys could've asked.

Love the secret hideout. With the first boss you need to hit him when he's under a stalagtite so that it jumps up and hits it.

Probenchwarmer, it is because everything has wilted I assume.
LordBeast, that isn't a glitch. Hitting him doesn't damage him, him hitting the spikes does.

Anyone notice in the cave...the music has the sound effect of Zelda when you have full power when you swing your sword?...Listen. :)

The guy is somewhat strange, unless he can predict the future. He finds something heavy and just decides to pick it up?
Also, somewhat annoying to have to go all the way back to a save game if you win, rather than being able to continue near the end.

When fighting the first boss...After it shoots all the homing things, if you pause the game they will disappear eventually then you can hit the boss....repeat.

Accidentally clicked "Quit game and return to main menu" from the pause screen.
While I was fighting patient X.
PLEASE add an additional confirmation click after that. Please.
haha are you kidding? so when you clicked quit and 'SURE? ALL UNSAVED PROGRESS WILL BE LOST' appeared, that wasn't enough of an additional confirmation?

One of the last survivors... in a cave... with his daughter.... This is going to get awkward and end in retarded babies

Excellent mood for the story. The way the title screen appeared added to the overall feel of the atmosphere, some thing rare in a flash game. I loved the style and feel of the game all the way through. 5/5

Has to be one of the best flash 8bit games i've played. Really enjoyed, that. I don't usually like 8bit games. Part of me is hating myself for liking it so much, but it was epic. Hope it gets in the highest rated.
