Alright. Let's give an actual review of this game, why don't we.
Okay, first of all. Pros. Tried and tested game type; uses the same level-up type system in all other games of its type; simple and easy to understand. Wait. Those aren't really pros.
Cons. Bland. Boring. Uninteresting, really. At least the other games of this type have things going for them; hedgehogs and penguins and such, they're cute, or they're wacky, or something. They have personality. This doesn't.
On top of that, the physics system here is, quite simply, crap; it's a rocket, it should be responsive, but instead it slides all over the place and can't seem to be accurate for anything.
And the RNG is even worse. There should not be six thunderclouds all in a row close enough that you can't avoid the next one in the set; there should not be three boosters offset so that you can't boost through more than one; the wind should not push you away from every powerup and booster;

I have the in game cheevo for the hard badge, and as usual it isn't logging, so I'm trying to do it again and it's impossible. So effing angry. It doesn't help how zoomed in the screen is right at lift off and you have no time to avoid hitting any obstacles...i just wish it would log the fact that I already have the cheevo.

well, mot the funniest game i've played but it's ok, one fun thing is crashing into an airplane when you run out of fuel.

when the Apollo 11 was headed for the moon, it nearly crashed and caused a terrible tragedy but the rocket ran into a gasoline can and was able to break orbit

got the hard badge, still haven't gotten the distance one. Did it with the first upgrade for hull, and fins maxed out. Its luck for the first 30k, but after that, don't go for any risky objects. No matter how tempting that gate is, unless it requires only a slight change in path don't go for it.

Man the money in the air is a symbol for grant money you get for achieving various amounts of success with your rocket duh! Also it's a game so suspended disbelief should apply

This game is deeply horrible. it's a time-waster of the worst kind, and you might as well just go ahead and add about 20 more levels of upgrade to everything since that's evidently what the people want.

Just picked up the hard badge, and while I agree entirely with godhumor (nov 9th, 2010), I wanted to add some gameplay points.
1. If you have everything upgraded, you might also want to try downgrading your thrusters back one step. With the highest thruster it's almost impossible to stop in time during the early part of the game.
2. Pick up the original lowest hull, that way if you get hit you can explode easier and try again
3. Don't try the speed gates, they're both unforgiving and they keep you from stopping should an object be ahead of you.
4. Prioritize getting fuel.
With that the badge isn't too hard to get. Good luck!

An okay retread of all the launcher games we've seen over the years. The gripes are mostly minor, but many. I feel like a broken record in saying this in so many games on kong, but collision detection needs work, especially the boosters versus your tail fins. The zoom in at the beginning means that until 30k feet, you're pretty much dependent on luck.

I must have the worst luck for getting the 5 cash packs in one flight. I've had 4 so many times now, and I have almost half the achievements/upgrades, but still not 5 in one flight :s

I just picked up the hard badge, and I just wanted to make a couple of comments. The non-zoomed out view for the first 30K of flight is incredibly annoying while going for this badge. Random objects appear way too quick at the beginning of the flight to maneuver out of the way with such a limited view. Also annoying is just how unforgiving the hit detection is for the in-air booster gates. I finally gave up on trying to use them after the umpteenth time of experiencing a phantom hit while trying to gain a boost. Still, I liked the game enough to keep playing to get the hard badge despite these annoyances. Overall, good job.

You see, this is why NASA has so many delays. The rocket explodes if it hits a plane too hard, the air's full of sacks of cash and jugs of fuel, and the space winds keep blowing it off trajectory. No wonder it takes so long.

If you're wanting to get that hard badge, fit the low quality hull, max out on just about everything else and then don't go through any of the booster gates. And seek out as many refuels as you can on your way up.

If anyone's struggling with the hard, it's really easy if you keep using the engine cut-out to avoid obstacles, even with basic fins, booster and hull.

For the hard badge, focus on booster. You need the engine and fuel tanks to reach the necessary height, but the booster is the best way to dodge obstacles. Don't bother upgrading the hull at all, but get the money increase, fuel consumption reduction, and reduced air resistance early. It's relatively easy to afford upgrades after that.

I think there should be less planes at the beginning. I have the best fins, but too many times have I crashed into a plane without having proper time to move away.

I must be too good for this game. Fully upgraded ship, almost all achievements and what I think is a fairly solid working knowledge of the game and my record is 299K. Somehow I keep deftly snapping defeat from the jaws of victory.

initial point of view is horrible, you upgrade thrust and then you are on top of crap before it even comes into view..

Ahahaha I hit a plane spin out of control gain my balence and than the plane I hit comes out of no where and destroys my rocket...

-Runs out of fuel- DANG IT!! -Gets fuel while falling at 9999 mph- YES -Hit a plane- .... No comment
This happens alot to me =/

They really need to clear that airspace and wait for better weather. I've reenacted the Challenger disaster something close to 20+ times now.

Game seemed a bit long to me, the progression is a lot slower than other games of this type. Perhaps thrust could be more effective or some of the middle upgrades a little cheaper?
