Also with screamers, a tip for fighting extremely fast enemies: it's easiest to fly out in front of opponents and fire into their flightpath.

I love screamers, wide enough to give you a bit of an advantage targeting smaller ships, plus they seem to have the highest damage totals of any weapon system. I've noticed that getting 3 different weapons with different ROFs like 109,133,150 (for instance) spaces them out nicely letting you pour a perfect stream of death on people.

5/5 No bugs, awesome style, good music and excellent difficulty progression. I especially love the randomness of the weapons and gear, with there being efficiency, weight and various damage totals to consider I feel like I'm on a constant treasure hunt for the perfect equipment! Very well thought out Baturinsky, I pray you make a sequel.

The Untouchable ranks are pretty easy to get over the course of maybe 2 advancements. Just put on a pair of rapid fire weapons (beam cannon and gattling) then stay about 1400m away from small ships. They'll fire missles and you can shoot them down with plenty of room.

Heh heh heh... I'm still playing this every now and again. If I get any higher level, I'm likely to end up crashing the poor game!

the ship matters do you like storage or speed right and that is light mine is 480 with only about 10K of storage but i am only elite 10 and rarely update but i do have 22K health and 44-49K energy

I've never found space to be very important.. I only do packages and escorts (when they are very close). I like having very high energy because I hate running low during a longer fight. 159k on my current ship, and I could do better.. but I like that I have a 200t "light" variation ship.

I'm still working on untouchable 3 and lock on 3, because they will take fwcking forever, but I have every other achievement.. boy was escorting annoying! My ship moves so fast that when I get a movement bug and float off without stopping or I accidentally click somewhere, I fail the quest before I can even react.

@GIOG - the guide answers your first question, the hard stuff is at the bottom right. I think the best ship is the Requiem. Bigger heavier ships are harder to get to fly fast, and the small ships are difficult to equip - they need very expensive gear.

@sysy The reason for you 'stuck in combat' problem is that so long as any ship that is/was attacking you is within less than 3000m of you, your stuck in the combat. Just let the range extend past 3000m.

@Raal the weapon stats are..
Damage/S = damage per second
Effectivity = how well the energy cost compares to the damage dealt, higher is more damage per energy overall
Proj. Speed = speed of the shot, how fast it moves
Range = how far the shot can go before it disappears

Awesome game, would recommend to everyone i see. Just 1 thing missing, i think its te option to salvage, but to make that option more accessible, would be needed generally more free space in hulls.

Got to elite 17.. I have one set of 150M hyper engines, and I just saw a 1.5B set of nano hyper engines. Whoa. That's. Just. Insane. I'm so glad I don't bother with very small or very large items.. they get stupidly expensive.

comma-separate the money and weight values. -- "change faction" sometimes appears twice in the store list. -- I've found myself stuck in combat mode sometimes. I think I can reproduce it like so: (1) get into a fight near a station (2) flee into the station (3) press t to return to the map (un-pause) (4) chase after a unit past the ship you got into combat with earlier. Notice that the ship is going to its original destination, but somehow you're forced to fight and kill it to be able to fly in the regular non-combat map again.

bug: The ship's speed decreases dramatically when switching weapons during combat. -- The computer's perfect aim is such a pain in the butt. -- Discarding should prompt yes/no.. it's annoying to reflexively click and dump a $2M item. -- when changing factions, drop all quests to kill that faction's ships. -- correction to an earlier comment: I do see the speed sortof listed. -- in combat, energy is renewed when weapons are swapped out.

It's annoying to buy cargo over your weight limit. Automatically set the maximum purchasable limit, and notify the player. -- after death, the player should be returned to a safe spot of their same faction, and they should stay that faction. -- if significantly faster than someone chasing, combat should become optional. Remember that space is 3d, so the much-faster ship can easily go around. -- need to be able to turn off the music and adjust volume. -- fix the mission success sound so that it won't ring multiple ones at the same time. -- discarding quests should be punishable. Maybe some sort of faction rating could be created, which influences types and qualities of missions, reward amounts and special items. -- hull changing should only be possible at a base (and maybe only a certain kind of base)

need an effectiveness:weight ratio for things like repair bots. -- add other technologies, like (1) enhanced sensors (larger radius, see routes as lines, highlight targets) (2) targetting systems which help track better (3) missile jamming technology, (4) cloaking devices and maybe some sort of combat escape mechanism - all of which are unlockable. -- would be nice to show ones total speed somewhere handy.

engines need an efficiency rating, and ratings need to be easily visible, like a colour on the inventory or purchasing screen. -- need to list weight on the purchase screen. -- need to be able to easily compare an item in the shop or your inventory with what is equipped.

not bad later on.. a bit pointless when I can drop out of hyperspace and nuke a ship with one shot. Desperately needs a way to filter out the crappy equipment. Could use various adjustments to make it even better.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
bugs: Can start with one ship, then when forced into combat can switch to another, gaining all its abilities and keeping the old hit points of the old ship. -- sometimes freezes when trying to pick up a quest.. making it impossible to buy anything until the game is refreshed and reloaded. -- another bug that I can't remember right now.. will report it later.
