Sorry:( Ihad not such things occured.
I reverted to old version now.
From now on I'll first put new versions in some other place (I'll write here where), so we don't have such nasty surprises.

When I come to the game page now, my computer hangs for about a minute, then gives me this message - A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script? I have some stuff running that I don't want to abort yet, so I haven't tried clicking no yet. When I click yes the game cannot function at all. Eager for the fix, I love this game :)

Now, thanks to having to restart, I have a crappy ship and am repeatedly getting killed at the starting station by the same bloody ship. I can't get to another station to deliver anyhting, and because you lose half your XP and Gold every time you die, I will never be able to improve the ship. POOR JOB. Starting should be less dangerous. There shouldn't be instadeath ships hovering around the freaking beginning stations. I have the second most achievements on the list, so I've played this quite a bit already, and was rather successful. I like the game, but this starting balance is horrible.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hanging is bad:( Can you tell me when it happens?
Ah, yeah, cobra is nerfed:) It still has biggest armor and firepower, but not as overwhelming.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also, did you change the hull sizes? Suddenly my Primitive R-1 Cobra's holds are literally 1/10th the size the previously were, so I can't even leave the station. I'm going to have to start all over now.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Here, new version. Changes are probably as dramatic as with previos update:) But now it's mostly about stations. First, they are distributed to faction differently now. Vitjas and Chain stations being reclaimed by Greens besides other things, making starting sector much safer.
Different types of station now have different sets of equipment and contracts. For example, "Death Star" (military) stations have more and more advanced weapons, and more "assassination" contracts. "Hubble"(research) station have less equipment for sale, but all are of better quality, etc. Even "security" stat now has effect - chances of reinforcements is proportional to security rating.
Also, I fixed (hopefully) reported bugs, namely related to game saving/continuing and "change faction" and "escort" missions.
Now I plan to work on interface - things that Impet mentioned, more info on stations and ships in map mode, etc.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's possible that the game needed to be logged out of for a while to update? I went back to my save of one of my fatal-leveled games. And now it is possible to find eq that seems decent ;p. I know luck's a big part of it, but I'm not kidding - I looked for hours at this level. It wasn't to be found.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Axil, the time to get a cobra is early in the game. Consider not killing many ships until you have one :p Cheap cobras can be found for as little as 23,000 (That's the cheapest I've spotted). And these cheap cobras tend to have around 30K hps, 30K holds, 15K battery. Ignore those perfected scourges with 1,350 hps for 1.2 million... hold out for a 'crappy' cobra dirt cheap. I tend to find deals like that in the 'bad bases'. The ones with tech levels of 3-4, and not research stations. The 'crappy bases', which a couple danger levels later won't have any useful eq.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hmm, that may be caused by the fact that shop's stock available for you is update only once in a while, while enemie's stock is always up-to date.
I'll have to check, but I think that about five minutes (real time) in map mode (unpaused, of cause) will be enough for all shops to restock.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
There may be a sort of 'wall' messing up the quality increases in eq about level deadly. Or something... there's a glut of 'high priced junk' everywhere I look, from the dangerous end of the game to the safe, and across all types of stations. There's some average eq too, for average to high prices. But the 'highest damage' range of weapons being sold across hours of looking are actually a lower damage then the ones that had been for sale about 3-4 danger levels back. I've hit the 'deadly' wall about four times now and restarted - the ships I fight are much better, but I cannot seem to improve my eq - or even switch my type of weapons because what's for sale isn't as good as what had been for sale before.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Now that I'm looking at the code, this may be caused by saving when your ships is just destroyed, or something like that. I'll try to reproduce this...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Sorry for the vagueness. I had been playing for a while after starting the new game before I tried to save. I had tried refreshing the browser, with no change to the status of the continue and save as buttons. The strangeness occurred after I closed the browser and tried 'Continue' after reopening it.

Prices are not random. Generally, better pieces cost more money. But sometimes you can find something very good for sheap, or a pricey junk - but that is like in the real life:)
And jobs will give you more money at higher levels and/or in more dangerous parts of map (i.e. right bottom corner).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yes, say, is someone going to fix the parts complete random amount of money and weight? I think the better the item, the higher priced and possibly the more it weighs. Until they are super pricey, where they can become a bit lighter(Say, 150,000+)
And also, how are you to make so much money? 1,000,000 and the normal jobs give you 2500? That's going to take days, I've never passed 50,000.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
2cainam Also, try to refreshing browser, if saving and restoring acts strangely. I'll check code meanwhile for possible bugs, but it's hard to understand what exactly is happening by your description.

Are you trying to save just after starting a new game? Save is not working at that moment. If saving is not working later too, then it is a bug.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Okay, the autosave didn't work as well as I thought. It started by showing the correct ship in the correct station, but when I attempted to move my ship disappeared, and I got back the first ship and was at the starting station when I hit 'M' I still have all my character skills, weapons and engines, and the stats along the bottom of the screen are listed as they were, but I'm flying at the starting speed again. I also have the Save As and Continue options available again.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I was playing and can no longer save my game. I had hit new game a few times to start over without saving, now when I bring up the options window Save As and Continue are dimmed and don't do anything when I click on them. The Option button (in the upper right corner of the main window) won't close the options window either, but 'O' does. Luckily the autosave lets me come back so long as I don't start a new game again.

In fact, ships are not always assist attacked allies. There are some limiting factors. First, ships don't call gor help when they are over 75% of health. Second, ships that are low on health themselves, or fighting someone else already, or have killed several ships already, are not interesting in fights either. So, if you want to cap someone without unneeded attention, you can aggro him, and then lure to some place where he will have no one to help him :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Additionally, no one should be 'just attacking you', without you opening fire first. Ships that are 'fighting' or 'chasing' are very likely to turn on you and scream for help, and every ship and base close to you (except your own color) is going to send help. So leave them be unless you are surrounded by your own color. If you are 'setting up your kill' or just flying around and are getting attacked by anything other then the very rare cobra, you need a 'scarier' ship. Scary ships tend to have at least 8000 hps and battery - hold size doesn't seem to matter. I'm almost never bothered if I am in a ship like that unless I start the fight first.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
2 Axil, some advice on killing safely. Plan your kills with care. If your target is currently 'going' to a destination, it will tend to just try to run there. Make sure you can kill it fast (within 30ish seconds?) Make sure that you are directly ahead of its flight path. When it's in range, start shooting with non-rockets. In most cases, it will not even fire, it is only trying to reach base. It's not even calling for help yet (Consider this a bug report too ;p) You can usually kill that ship and get away clean, not even being shot at once. (I prefer savage epic battles, and set them up for myself, but I did notice there were 'easier ways' too ;P)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
By "goods" I was meaning commodities. Their prices should raise too.
As for equipment - there are no caps. Equipment stats grow with each tech level.
But besides tech level, there are modifications ("light", "heavy", etc), and also some random variation of parameter. And price is derived from all that. As a result, items with identical stats may have different price, if they have different tech level.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I don't know how your pricing works as is, a lot seems pure random ;p. There might be a repair droid with a 500 weight that fixes for 400/10s priced at 400,000, and right beside it a repair droid with a 500 weight that repairs for 600/10s priced at 83,000. It appears that over time, most but not all prices already go up, and weapon damages seem to have mostly capped about four levels below deadly - I know I haven't replaced any gatlings in some time, nor spotted any rockets which were doing more damage then the ones I'd used before then.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Sure - I'll make different icons for different weapons.
And also I'll make prices for goods raising over time, to keep up with raising of other money sources.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
One suggestion, as I notice my eyes starting to bleed as I shop ;p - Right now, you have two icons for a bunch of different sorts of weapons. I'm specifically roaming the galaxy looking for the special gatlings which fire at the max rate - they don't seem to have special names, could be any gatling. Sometimes I'm looking for some other specific weapon type - would you consider 'uniquing' the symbol for the different weapons more? Or do something else to make the different classes more obvious for a space-strained pilot with seven malicious dragons after her?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well, the imbalance doesn't last all 'that' long ;p. Am at extremely dangerous, and am fighting the good fight with an even better cobra down deep in the hard gold quadrant. They beat the heck out of me, and I'm able to give the same back, but they're making me flee a lot and if I slip up and let them pincher me, I spent a lot of time getting away and staying clear long enough to heal (my repair droids are solidly sub par, needed coin and my 50K hps hull seemed fine with 5/hp a second regen ;p I haven't even started testing your middle and end game difficulty levels, I keep starting over for one reason or another. What speeds one forward early may be just right come the middle game - for sure even with my 'super ship', I'm not advancing fast in kills right now ;p
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the trading is worth it if you have a large enough hold. buy equal quantities of everything and fly around fulfilling the contracts. i made a lot of money and experience doing this.

Congratulations on your great victory:)
I gotta nerf that cobra some more. I'm working on stations now, after that I'll move to balancing equipment, including hulls. I'll think about your suggestions about messages and showing ship info. I have ideas how to fix that already, but that will take some time:)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
2Axil
Well, trading is really not that profitable. I'll see what I can done with that. Meanwhile, try Collect missions -they are more profitable than just trading.
"Other side" of the map is the most dangerous place, so if it's too hard for you to survive there, try moving back to top left corner.
There are 30 ranks, but only first 12 of them have distinct names - after that it's Elite+1, Elite+2, etc.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
While NPC ships are 'not very good' at sniping down rockets fired at them, combined with advancing danger levels and also sometimes having high quality repair droids, some of these ships are 'almost impossible' to kill with rockets, especially in a pack with allies helping shoot the rockets down accidentally or not ;). So I switched to highest speed gatlings. Works well, except - if you are holding down the fire button (tempting to never stop doing when you're fighting a dozen or so) the game doesn't show you the combat info of anyone you mouse over. Is it possible to fix that?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Amusingly, when the space-dust settled, I flew back to Redici to dock and review, and write this. And the good folk of the Golden Empire? They still were willing to let me join their faction. They weren't mad I blew up so many of their ships - maybe they were offering peace? *grins* I half expected to see them offer me money to join... Only one change I'd like to see. When you blow up a ship, the top of your screen lights up with the exp and money, and that lasts for about 2 seconds - it covers up your targeting info, who you have targeted, their hps and their distance. When I'm fighting more then 2-3 ships, I don't care about the exp and money I just earned, I need to make sure I am targetting the right next enemy - can we have that changed so it doesn't overlap, or a way to make the reward info disappear?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I was there, and so were they. An armada, easily 8 ships just to start. My rockets flew, theirs answered... and Redici was right there. Their calls for help surely flew as well, because ships started to appear everywhere. Had to be at least 15. Bullets everywhere, getting beat up for a cobra, strat change time... evade, twist, outfly! There, the 'competition', at least 20 ships now, all strung out behind me at last. Time to pick them off, the fastest first. Cause they don't have the sense to fly as a 'real squad' yet. Whew. Still was hard. Still almost died. Still won :) It was great and glorious. And even some red and black ships (I was still green) joined in after me. I ate them all! What an awesome game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I just finished my first real strong hard battle. I took my time, little delivery contracts, got the money for decent eq, kept looking. Got into a decent ship, was safe to go explore the better tech bases at last... found a cobra I could afford. Bingo. Cobra + decent eq = game in hand. I took four kill contracts for the gold base, Redici. I knew I'd be swarmed. I wanted to be...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Btw, there ARE mineable asteroids in the game. It's one of station types, that is looking like an asteroid with a shute. Unfortunately, you can't mine it youself, but can generally buy what it's inhabitants mined and processed (i.e. alloys).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
About your restart base getting swarmed and becoming a trap, and how to play so that doesn't happen - I'm still 'trapped' in the green area, I get swarmed when I fly out of it and cannot reach another base to try and change faction. Just haven't happened to be able to get one of the 'scary' types of ships yet, I know that will give me much more protection. I like that the other factions 'care' if you get close - it makes this version much more challenging. Before I sailed all over almost without effort (even before I started in a cobra ;p). To avoid getting a cluster of 'evil others' around your green bases - do what the NPCs do. You see some wrong color of ship, especially if it is just sitting there (that means it is fighting your faction members!) I don't ignore it. I don't wait for my 'allied cover' to be blown to bits. I go help kill that wicked NPC while I still have help and while he's lower in health and energy then he would be if I waited until I was the last one left.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Mention of mining - many space games similar to this have it. I like the idea of mining too. Maybe, we would fly over a 'minable object', get within a certain distance of it in combat mode, and have a weapon type designed to attack it? Maybe it would release chunks of material into space and the fastest ship to touch them would get it, careful not to overload though, or you would need to use the 'i' key to dump it ;p. Of course - this mining area would probably be a total free for all of missile and blaster chaos, with faction ships from various sides trying to blast the enemy and/or fill their holds first with any and every chunk blown off. Scary intense stuff in my imagination ;p
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
About fighting a cobra 'early'.
This is actually easy, if you are patient and managed to upgrade your speed - and if you use rocket (or have incredible aim perhaps) with enough damage to overcome its heal rate. Fly ahead of it, from 1700 to 1050 distance, and constantly fire the rockets at it. It will blindly chase you. I have not been able to test this yet with the new code that lets the enemy try to shoot down your rockets, but it worked perfectly in the first version. It may take five to ten minutes of patiently outflying, but the reward is huge when that monster ship goes down.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Reason to open the inventory in space is because that's where the contract details are. Especially if you buy several contracts at once, it can be hard to remember the names of everyone you're after as you approach... which station was it next? I open inventory in space all the time (but I don't need a reminder that it's 'i', cause that's the most standard way to see your inventory there is.)

1) It is done, in fact. Enemies are harder when you go further from starting place. 2) Done too:) Prefixes like "outdated" or "advanced" before equipment names shows it's relative tech rating. And You can find better (and more expensive) things in more advanced stations.
3/4) It's not easy to do, but I'll try:) If not in this version, then in the sequel.
5) It's done too. Different hulls have different uses, and have respective slots and parameters.
6/10/11) I don't think that will add much to gameplay, but may be.
7/9) That's probably for the sequel. They will be actual war with stations building, capturing, etc.
8) I'll think how that could be done.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hmm, blue stations ARE too near to starting location. I'll try to fix that.
And probalby I'll also have to write about "skipping time on station" method in a big letters in map mode, becase people seem to have problems finding it.
But, why would someone want to open inventory in space that often?
As for negative money - I think I have fixed it in last version... If you still have that problem, save game and refreshing page - may be you still are running old version.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Here, I also have a suggestion:
For some reason, a blue group of five or six really strong ships hang around Gantic and Sedco 706. Every time I went there they shot me down in seconds. I couldn't get away for ten minutes until they left, but had died almost five times. Not fair: Only weak units should be around there or only slow big units.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh, and please make it easier to open the inventory in space, I keep forgetting it's the I key. Should say in the keyboard shortcuts at least.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I got negative money by buying items that cost more money than I had(Some I could buy, some not). It must be a bug otherwise all them would be buyable or not.
And I really like the game at the moment!!
Say, can you put this game on Armorgames? www.armorgames.com ?? Would be great.
