First time I just played through, slightly confused at the neutral ending I got. Then I read the drug references, and it all made sense the second time.

I played it a second time through. When i first played it i took it at face value. So i was quite confused with the ending. So again i played it but i looked for symbolism and did the exact opposite of what i did before. It was a much happier ending.

There are many instances where it points to drugs. At any rate, the 3 most likely possibilities as to what the girl represents are: Heroin, Razor, and(according to Jayisgames) Domestic Abuse. I believe it to be heroin though. For me, this was...deep. At least for a game. This also lets us to see in the eyes of a druggie, and how hard it really is to stop.

For ppl wondering about thre "air" connection, "Air" is the name of an insanely popular Japanese visual novel computer game. (Look it up on wikipedia.) The name is probably partly a pun on it. Though the drug addiction symbolism is obvious, I think she could represent Internet addiction (all the stuff about staying home instead) or any number of other obsessive/addictive behaviors.

lol, its about IV drugs, thats why shes clinging to his left arm. She represents the need for drugs, hence the "get closer" ending. But it could also be about cutting yourself if you reaaally want :P

Drugs makes sense I guess. it hints at it several times. The character needs her but he doesnt want her. When he leaves her, he feels happier than he ever was. As for the "get closer" ending, I'm stumped.

[sorry for the double comment] A note on the interactivity: I felt it was just interactive enough. The story hurt more because I was making those decisions. Even though I tried to make the best ones. Again, well done.

Defenetly a good piece of art and story, not very interactive but has a profound meaning that many, most among the teenagers, won't understand probably. I'd love to see other views and situations portraited as this, with a good thinking and a critical look on it.
P.S: He most likely tried suicide by cutting his wrists, it's quite common on this atempt to slash through them and losing the control over the hand.

Seems more like he's a cutter to be..."she grabbed on to my left arm"...and the nurse saying it was lucky he didn't hit any nerves or arteries.

anyone else get the impression its a metaphore for drug addiction (if im right give me a medal rofl) but its an interesting piece of work :)

Raitendo is invloved with this, Your mind automatically gets screwed with by default. I don't think there's one set answer here, it's intentionally open-ended.

I believe she is a figment of the protagonist's imagination, and the protagonist uses this imagination to cope with a certain loss in life (or perhaps the inability to find a girlfriend).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
she's an embodiment of something to the person, the protagonist. i don't want to spoil it too much. this has made me very emotional myself. a very good game.
