If this is an adventure game and Mind Trial is a puzzle game, I wonder how difficult that game is because this already seemed like a hard puzzle game.

It took me over 2 hours to complete the game with help from YouTube (although a very bad French let's play). It should be a hard badge.

The tetris puzzle is insanely difficult. I could only complete it by drawing the blocks in a paint.net and dragging the layers around. Solution: Block 2 right. Block 4 left. Block 5 left. Block 3 right. Block 1 middle.

If you don't know what to do, use the paper and stick in front of the door of the house to get the lantern. Use the key you can find top left upstairs to get the light bugs. You need to use almost every item manually instead of it automatically activating if you interact with something.

The game concept is good, but there are a lot of details to polish, like difficulty curve and map design. For the comments i asume you work alone, need to find someone that helps you to focus on small things.
Overall i didn't like this game, gets tired on searching everywhere for something i don't know what, have to go all the way to find that the one thing i found wasn't the thing i needed.
Keep working! :)

WOW this is horrible... it's basically a point and click, but you wander around the map for an hour trying to find what to click...

Cannot play, after clicking New Game, I get a black screen with this http://prntscr.com/q11i5v Refreshing does not help

Cannot play. Get error message: SecurityError: Permission denied to access property "dispatchEvent" on cross-origin object.
And what's your problem with RPG Maker? I understand that most RPGs made in RPG Maker are very lame and all the same. But if you'd actually played this game, you would've realized it's NOT an RPG, so it doesn't really matter what engine it was made it. OR you can just stick to your preconceptions ;)

Hmmm... I came back to play again to get the badges and found a major glitch by accident. You can get the Baptism by Fire (and Water) Badge when you first start to play the game without actually winning the game :/.
On the first screen with the purple building, go to the left side of it, right above the stump, facing the building. Hit the Z button and there is a little glitch, then go to the right side of the building at it's lowest point, then hit Z again. Flavor text pops up saying "tstc" and you get the badge?... Anyways, I'm playing the game through regardless, I enjoyed it the first time and it's been a while since I played it last <3
Hey, thanks for posting this. It was actually a testing thingy which I forgot to remove - and you had to do a few more things before the steps you described (but you accidentally unknowingly did them, too - very low odds of that!) to get the badge. Anyway, this hidden mechanism of gone now :)

This is my fav game of .Beranek The controls are good, instructions clear, the animations are really cute. Figuring out the puzzles is fun and colorful screens.
... ^..^ ...

I WAITED AGES FOR SUCH A GAME!!! It has the feel of a real RPG like Baldur's Gate back in the days, so 10/5 from me and keep going!

I have the hammer and nails, but I'm stuck because that darn gnome won't let me get to the bridge. I need the axe on the other side. I don't know how to fix the switch so he can't trip it.

I have no idea if i'm doing this wrong, but the arrow keys don't work while i'm in the ore mining cart. Actually the cart can't move at all.
You get them from the guy (who also gives you a hammer) after you've helped his wife. Chase away the magic flies using your antimagic powder, then talk to the guy.

Sandoumir, you've come to my profile, thinking you have some authority to tell me what to do with my comment from A MONTH AGO, so I came here. I don't know disrighthereismy is any kind of troll, I think you're harassing them on their profile, just like you're doing to me. If you don't cut it out, I report you. Why is your profile private, so you think no one can see where you go and what kind of comments you make? Anyone can see your comments on my profile. You and some other guy have made up a hatred of one person and your opinion is they are a troll, and Beranek was snotty to them without knowing what you think of them, and Beranek believed you without cause. Why are you so obsessed? Why do you think you can tell people what kind of opinions to have? My opinion is you're a delusional creep.

Januari 20th was yesterday as per this comment. Not a month ago. Your comment from the 20th was about your comment from a month ago responding to someone who pointed out your mistake. Disrighthereismy is a troll, you deny that. Did you not notice the 9.5 pages x 20 daily comments downvoted into double digit oblivion? Of course not, that would mean you have to admit you made a tiny mistake. By harrassing a game developer and supporting a troll most of Kong community seems to hate. That was my problem. Now my problem is you flaming me in a comment section instead of keeping this on your profile and not a public display of idiocy. Goodluck.

I am real sorry, Germophile, that you stepped into a known troll's BS and are now trying to wipe your feet on me through comments.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out that I was supposed to use magic to fill the bucket, not the geyser.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I looked at disrighthereismy's comments, didn't see trolling. I'm only here bc player Sandoumir (private profile) sees fit to shout on profiles about how people need to edit or delete comments. They're the 1 who told Beranek that disrighthereismy was a troll, but all I see is stalking others because they can't handle thoughtful critical comments. disrighthereismy did not criticize or comment on every botd - hardly any, & all the comments were about the experience in detail. It got Sandoumir upset, so they're stalking me, telling me I need to edit or delete my comment, and stop defending a troll, which apparently is Sandoumir's personal delusion. This was a botd a month ago, and my comment was dv'd so far & on the 2nd page, so why bother me now. Beranek has already responded over my "defense" of a troll, based on 1 stalker's personal vendetta. I don't know what thin-skinned fans Beranek has; this is the 1st game comment I've made getting stalking trolls telling me what I "need to" do.

@knight8183 I got all the context I needed from all the responses by the developer, not just that one. Why is everyone so mad? This game has a lot of flaws the developer just dismissed every comment. If you love the game, why do my comments hurt you so much? Toughen up.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@germophile You really should should have looked at the past posts by disrighthereismy before bashing on the dev. There are critical remarks by other comments that the dev has shown self-control in not replying.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm put off by the creator's dismissive and insulting comments for anyone who has criticism of this game. Not everyone loves the genre; it's doable for a badge, but it has flaws, and -1 star for using Candy Crush as an insult. They're not smart enough to glorify your opus? People don't want to read an inane story that makes the game? I like instructions, but not sagas - that's ego and filler to me. The graphics were nauseating to me, & did not see a stick, couldn't use the stick. Instead of saying I don't have an item I need, point to inventory to use items INSTEAD YOU INSULT THE COMMENTER. I couldn't stop jarring back and forth looking for other things I might not be able to see, which makes me want to throw up. It's a pile-on because your game was BotD, but responding to get vengeance of ego on constructive critics was so petty. Puzzles weren't too hard, I can enjoy adventure. Admit that you could revise certain aspects so that even more people can enjoy your games.
It has been said many times in the comments that some commenters are trolls. I don't see a problem insulting a troll. And revising the game so that more people could enjoy it hardly works, because some would enjoy it more, some less. You just can't please everyone. I'm having doubts about posting more games here because of the hate. You give people something for free and a lot of them spit on it - why? Move along, there are plenty of other free games here, nobody's forcing you to play the ones you don't like, it's as easy as that.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Beranek, you replied to a troll (disrighthereismy) who has literally ranked every single badge of the day game a 1/5 for the past 6 months with randomly generated arguments.

not cute like the last one, but pretty good. still, not enough to prompt me to install Steam of my machine. iiits' eeeeevil. you know, in a "watch yo happy home" sorta way. *shudder* still, haven't you considered that all the times the lumberjack left the baby unattended gave the gnomes more than enough opportunity to steal him? i mean, the time it takes for the gnomes to get done with the ritual is probably about how long it'd realistically take Papa Jack to get through all the obstacles to get to him anyway. lol.
I like to think that the gnomes are classy in their own peculiar way - they wouldn't stoop down to outright steal the baby when the father's not watching, they didn't want to worry the father at all - if he hadn't turned back and found them out, he would've left content that the baby's safe. Also, they're not really stealing the baby, they're borrowing him in order to bless him. But they don't like dealing with humans, it's easier to devise a trick than to explain their agenda to the humans. :)

Thank you for the walk-through. I would never been able to complete the game without the the walk-through. Even with it, it took me a couple hours to read and follow the instructions. There are a few typos in the walk-through. E.g. Sec 5, step 7 ...'Remove all lightbugs from the plant...', should be 'from the orb'. Other than than, interesting story and puzzle. Nice effects with the lightbugs and colors and even tetris. I stuck with it to the end.
