how the hell is anyone getting the gold time star on stage 5? I'm down to 2:17 on a good run, but that's basically running the shortest path without really stopping for anything, and picking up rockets in one of the first two sets of little guys (since they kill the two boss phases quickest)

I find it way too fast on my computer. Played it on my dad's computer, and it was just about perfect - slow enough to dodge bullets. The game just does scale well to the hardware.
