Despite its flaws with boss design, this game was highly enjoyable. The story was very engaging. Reading the logs, as well as seeing was being done to the crew, helped to motivate me. The logs and seeing, over time, the mutations helped the atmosphere and setting feel real.
Many kudos!

The options should seriously have an option to reduce the screen-shaking effect. Why the heck should we have to put it on low quality when the only thing making it lag on high quality is the screen shake? It's not going to do much good and it'll just make the game look worse.

There's no explanation for the stars, so I'm not sure how to get a 4 star on a level. After running through the second level as a level 20 with all upgrades stopping for nothing, I got one star. Safe to say I won't be going for all achievements in this game.

Overall - decent graphics, nice gameplay. Inventory screen was more of a "status" screen, and "Rank" was misleading, since it seems entirely based on time, rather than the amount of health remaining, or enemies killed, etc. Good game, but could use some tweaking. 4/5

Okay, first: It would have been more amusing if at the end you find out he is the only crazy one, and he just killed an entire crew of regular humans (that is where it seemed like it was heading, anyways). Second: Re the last level scene with the three yellows, the woman with the head coming out of her breast and the worm coming out of where her, you know, should be... highly disturbing.
Still, 4/5 for good gameplay. Sprint could have used a key to hold down, rather than a double tap.

cyber77:
I agree with most of your points except that you can't have survival horror and sci-fi action shooter in one. If this game isn't proof enough of that then you should go play some of the Metroid games. Their sci-fi shooters with plenty of action but i swear you'd never think that eight bits could scare the crap out of you like that.

Well for a kinda good game, the ending was a damn stupid one.As much as i hate to say this..the rating of the game is 3/5

Very nice controls, and love the achievement (nice 40k reference, inquisitor!) However, I would suggest putting groups of basic enemies (upgraded with more HP and attack) or single uber enemies at occassional intervals, rather than having constant fighting. This adds more of a creepy, "anything can happen suddenly" kind of feeling, not having your brain numbed by mindlessly mashing your spacebar down to get past hordes of cannon fodder. The plot I love, for some reason (to everyone who says it's a ripoff of dead space; dead space was good!) 4/5, mainly because the feel of the combat clashed with all the (extremely scary) cutscenes and dreams.

i have to say, the whole storyline was pretty damn good, but i guess i don't feel like i have the whole bachground though, maybe making a second one may help, lol, like more showing the origin of these critters. and the ending was pretty bad. just needed more spice to it u kno? although the game needs work, i think i could see it becoming a pretty decent game

Heh. Nice game. As alot of people have been saying, i mainly played the game for the logs and for the final ending. I really thought the bosses could be harder. :P all you had to do was stay in one spot, jump, and hold down the space bar.

i enjoyed the game the story was good but the ending was anti-climatic the bosses a little too easy, and for the last bos the boost got me killed more than anything by propelling me off the edge but im nit picking a bit. overall a good game 4/5

People are hater's ha ha. Like, even tho there are some problems but can you guys make something bester then this? If you can go do it and stop talking junk.

By the end of the game i was totally over powered, i would one shot almost all enemies. The game play sucks but the story is good 3/5

this reminds me alot of dead space, with the whole dude goes to powered out ship to find it in ruins with everyone either dead or turned into some screwed up creature plus the insanity theme

Reminds me of Dead Space with a hint of the Event Horizon plot...unfortunately it doesn't live up to the level of either.

Help, I'm on the Bridge and I suddenly stopped moving...I can't move, cant interact, etc. I am by a log station thing on part 4 of the bridge...I know it's not my keyboard and I can still access the inventory/map, it's just shooting and moving...

lmao, when you first enter the cargo bay, the first vision you get, theres a girl painted yellow with like a huge eyeball growing outta her vagina

Game is really easy once you level up enough and find the upgrades. I think it only took me 12 seconds to kill the final boss. Other than that it was a fun game and I enjoyed the story.

i think it was a good game. a little too much like a flash version of metroid but still a good game. the only complaints i have are that there weren't enough weapons or monster types. change those two aspects of the game and i would like it alot more.

The game , a bit to easy if you ask me , and the ending was a bit lame , i aspected more. From the ending and the bosses, like everyone says. overall nice game , had to be longer actually, but still not to bad. 4/5

Fun game however more weapons and upgrades would help, ending needs work. controls were a bit twitchy as noted by other players.

okaaayyyy..... we fight some of the weirdest monsters in this game! Zombies, classic, but there r spider-like things wid legs sticking out of them? Weird.....

nice game, needs better bosses, better ending and what exactly is the point of the last suit? all in all i enjoyed it though, 4/5

hint- in the second level, there is a spread gun, causing you to shoot 3 shots at once! made my game easy. could kill caterpillars in seconds. plus this so people can see

Excellent use of lighting (or lack of) to create suspense.
Great layout of power ups and features so that even the late game is fresh and fun.
Nice story, good graphics, excellent somewhat-optional endings.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
not too bad over all , just a tad bit easy, the bosses were a joke, wldnt mind seeing a part 2 with some improvements in those areas

Great feel and concept. I did not like that you were limited to just shooting straight ahead. Maybe aim and fire by way of mouse while still moving and jumping with the directional keys.

As usual with Berzerk Studio games, I like this one. And as usual, there's somethin' that puts it just an inch from 5/5. In Homerun, it was the goddamn "Visit this and that site to get ALL the cool stuff" In this, it is a couple of things: Ye can't jump and shoot at the same time, and there seems to be times when jumpin' while hittin' don't work. Annoying when fightin' the second boss.
Second, The bosses actually gets EASIER as ye progress. Let's put it classic: WTF?

It may be true that none of the components are really unique but still the mixture makes for a quite entertaining game. And if you are going to say "dead space" or "event horizon" you also have to say "metroid prime", "H.P. Lovecraft", "The King in Yellow" etc. etc. The artwork is impressive but the cartoon style almost seemed a bit detrimental to the intended atmosphere from time to time. The levels are a bit easy and the controls could be improved in terms of unintended double jumps and being able to shoot in one direction only. Also I would have wished for more metroid-like level complexity. But still a great game in my eyes. Well deserves a 5/5.

The map section where you get the first damage upgrade and read the commanders log is buggy. Your blip on the map is a bit higher than where you really are.
Game is nice so far :)
