note to all: everything is beatable on hard difficulty, i found that 34 and 35 you have to learn to use less units at times, but otherwise, it's easy

The only thing this game lacks to be among the "forever replayable" list is, quite frankly, a map editor. The missions are good, the AI is great, the difficulty of the black guys certainly honors that of the aliens in Solarmax 1 (remember the mission with 3 battleships?). The map editor feature is all that is missing -- afterwards you have a game that can be played over and over again to great fun.

I loved this game... 108 stars... Would be kinda cool now that I completed it to be able to make my own levels or try more of an endless or larger map. a huge map of 50 planets / space stations would be neat

Ok, tell me what is amount of black in last level? Cause every time I and other AI get heavy outnumbered by black spots.

Well, with this AI I finally understand the meaning behind the "primitive humans fight an hopeless fight against the more advanced alien race".
With me being a human. :-(

This game is amazing. The best game I've played in Kongregate. Honestly, outbesting the MMOs here.
It takes the meaning of domination to a new level. The music doesn't make you feel like you are using brute force to destroy enemies.

I love how in round 23 you can fight and reduce down at the exact same time and have 0 ships left on either side with no planets for production, yet the game does not end.

lol I found a glitch on Level 23 where you can turn the game into a stalemate and basically make the level last for eternity hahaha, just wait for them to teleport to a planet and tp to the same one and its a draw but the game doesnt end lol should probably make the level auto restart in this instance

As a fan of the first solarmax, I am really impressed on how well this was done. The AI was really done well as they are very intelligent but are not impossible to beat even on hard mode. :P
This game takes real skill and strategy to beat this game and it was a lot of fun to play. I give it a 5/5. :)
You have created an amazing game nicotuason. Great job. :D

Brilliant..beautiful..beyond words.. After finishing the game I teared up as I listened to the beautiful music and watched the lights shine. This was a masterpiece. I beg of you, make a 3rd or add more to this. This is beautiful and brilliant.

I'm completely amazed at how well-done this game is overall, but the AI is what makes it truly unique. Many RTS games I have played have many more options and methods, for example, Starcraft II allows construction of race-specific buildings, units, special abilities, etc. What this game lacks in depth, it makes up for in spades with AMAZING AI, unique and challenging levels, and a hell of a satisfying victory when all is said and done. Excellent work developer, I look forward to seeing more from you in the future.

It would be cool if there was a pie or bar chart showing the size of each faction so that you know who's winning and who to be worried about.

well that was a really great game, one thing i would have liked though . . . some story writing. i mean the game is good enough to get a 5/5 but still i would like to see some plot and backstory and maybe a small wiki about the aliens and stuff but other than that great game and i hope for more

Certainly in the top 3 of its genre, this rts has an amazing ai that will leave players frustrated (that means it's a good ai), and it kept me until the end, receiving all 108 stars. the last level took a few attempts, and a bit of luck. the trick is to take control of those center defenses. Well crafted and fine game. 9/10.

[SPOILER]
by the way the first time you go to capture the strange classic atom depiction shaped structure i assume it is because you wanted gallactic domination (like you achieve later on your second go at the structure, now defended by black). If i may ask... What went wrong in the first attempt? where the hell did black come from? Were the crews of your expeditionary force corrupted by what they found on the structure? Did they accidentally open a gate through which a malignant, more advanced race entered your galaxy? And anyway, how come the black couldnt use the structure to instantly conquer the galaxy

In level 36 and 32, AI players will not attack triple rings, this is why AI can't simply beat black AI. So ending in level 36 and 32 are always the same, human player captures triple rings.

If I had one complaint about the game, it would be that it takes too long to get going - the later levels were a lot of fun, to the point that I was disappointed when I ran out of levels to play, but I almost got bored with the game and stopped playing about halfway through before I ever got there.

Well, I commented before finishing the game and now understand that I was not quite right. This game is the best of it ganre... Music, graphics, gamaplay... Although it becomes quite hard when black enemy appears (and a bit frightening as you don't really understand it from the start, it looks way more powerful than it is, I guess that's just lack of numbers and colours) that just brings even more life into the game. Usually in this type of games it gets repetative and boring half way through, luckily I was mistaken to expect the same from Solarmax 2. I don't think I'll be playing on hard right now but I'll definatelly remember to come back when I'll feel like playing challanging but fun game like this. Thanks to developers and it's nice to see you look into players' responses. Ten ✭ out of ten!
