You use them to build things eventually. Until then they are just consumed for happiness. Your production capabilities go down as the kittens become less happy, and vice versa.

needs better explanations. but as you start to understand it you find it much better of a game. even just a button on the side to offer some explanations would fix this right up i.e. i have catpower and no idea what it does

Neat stuff here. The balance of the fields seems off though. I don't mind slow expansion, I do mind though the severe limits on storage, combined with the building ratio, then combined with the food variance. It just seems to require more active hovering than a true "idle" game should require.
A (cold) with 40 nip fields and 4 farmers barely breaks me even for a population of 10 total. Maybe the kitties eat too much?

This game needs instructions and tips... Many times you don't know what the things do, so later you discover what they do... But that should be written in somewhere

Very frustrating, why is it when I even manually click save before shutting my window, every time I come back to the game, almost all of my numbers are at 0? Wood? Gone ... catnip, gone, minerals... only thing that doesn't seem to vanish is science. Why are they resetting?!
A lot of people ask this question. I will try to do my best to explain it, once and for all.
Firefox and Safari use the single data storage for an entire domain. It means that for large sites like Kongregate ALL games store data in the same place. The size of this place is limited.
For FF there is a way to increase this limit (it is explained in the game description btw: about:config -> dom.storage.default_quota)
Safari should increase this limit automatically, but certain versions don't.
Finally, there is no such problem for Chrome.

Now, Kongregate provide some alternative API to store game data, but I will have to change the way saves work and test it. This will take some time.

it looks like it can be a really fun game, but the fact that its gonna take a really long time, it only prgresses when its onscreen, and nothing happens offline when it plays like an idle game is a dealbreaker for me. Had fun, but won't be coming back.

How about making the game window small enough for me to not need scrolling the whole side up and down? Aside for that this game is really good.

Is there a way to change "my" job? As I read,20 years in the game are nothing, but still, after all I've done, the only thing I can manually do is gather catnip? And why just 1 at a time? I know this is one of a kind of idle, but still,I'd like to do more for my town with my own hands.

With the web worker the game "works" 4 times slower than it should while another tab is active. It's not a cpu issue, it's just broken.

To unlock iron will mode. Dont build any huts, gather and refine catnip until you have a library built. Then click the IW tab. There are a bunch of plusses and minuses to being in iron will. If you build any cats you lose IW mode. You will get zebras once you build archery that will work as your workforce. The only way to unlock archery will be through observing astronomical events. There are 8 iron will achievements to be had.

When I click over to another tab (in Chrome) it stops running, huh? Leaving this window open all the time is going to make me stop playing.

Samarkand: to unlock ziggurats you have to craft a megalith. Just one of the many undocumented features of the game :(

Guys, there should be an achivement for lasting a cold winter (a.k.a. -90% Food Supply) without any cats dying of starvation

Day 68 of Summer: It's as we thought. Global kittening is responsible for all of this. Why didn't we listen... IN PAWS NAME, WHY DIDN'T WE LISTEN?!
Day 73 of Summer: The scientists are all in agreement. The only way to save future generations of kittens is to initiate a mass kittycide, taking all our desctructive technology with us. A single kitten will remain, and will repopulate Cath on it's own. We shall name it Project Kittens Game.

Day 2 of Summer: Heh.. Summer.. You'd think it 's winter. It's a cold summer this.. Don't know how much longer we can survive these conditions.
Day 13 of Summer: Last winter it was warm. This summer it's cold.. What is going on here.. We're not prepared for this kind of weather. We have to do something, and soon.
Day 41 of Summer: Stilll nothing. The science department thinks it may have something to do with us polluting this planet of ours, but nothing conclusive yet.
