Right now they bring just some gold and exp.
It´s displayed as you reach the station.
In the future, they will bring more interesting reward.
Right now I´m still busy with bugs and the never-ending save game story.
It´s also the one that allows rebuilding the train. After you do that a few times it will be faster.
Because you get better locomitives and fuel carts.

wowed by the fast response. I like the concept a lot, as do many. looking forward to updates, content an some balancing. somehow, my unused tokens keep disappearing (are they really all lost for a few dozen starting gold ?!?). progress at the 50 token cap is becoming near impossible. ty. and again, great idea.
I know there is still not that much content. The save issue eats a lot of my time. Also as mentioned before I have now way less time because RL is eating the most of it.

I'm several upgrades in, bought some med carts, but never saw them make any money. not in the station summary and not in real terms on the cash display. furthermore, dancers seem to have stopped producing money as well, though they clearly did earlier and the earnngs used to show up on the station summary.

If they do earn money it certainly should display it.

No save, and the message says I should tell dev..? Um. No idea why this is happening. I tried reloading a couple of times, all settings are appropriate and allow cookies, but there's this error.. Any idea what I should do?

Game still doesn't save for me.
Might be that someone's cookies are off, but I'm unsure since I've never turned mine off. Still, I don't mindstarting over, but its a lot to do all the same.
I still work on a manual save function. Why it refuses to save for some people...
Well, I have really no idea. There are even two save systems already. If the game can´t find the save in the playerprefs it will try to load the backup save in the indexedDB.
I´m sorry for the troubles there and I try to fix it as soon as I can. Sadly I have limited time right now because of a busy RL.

Travelling for days at a rough estimate of 24 km/h, and have still only traveled a little over 30 km in total??? Perhaps have a look at your formulas here? Not that I'm expecting realism, but, you know...

The passenger cars right now are such a bad value that it really needs balancing. The penalty for buying each new car is so high that the coffee/burger carts can't pull their weight either. And I don't think the burger cart works with the 2nd class passenger cart at all.
You should at least be able to sell cars, since once you discover that a cart is bad, you're stuck with it until you earn enough to rebuild.

But when refreshing the site without rebuild the train, the distance shouldn't be reset (time variable of actual session should be saved and only reset when rebuild).

Bug? Run over night and station range is 2km (better for max speed/tick per sec), refresh site and station range is 1.24km.

at max upgrade there are much more passengers in 3rd than in 2nd class, 3rd class is also more lightweight - i combination with coffee and burger cart you can gain much more money in less time
Well, that sounds odd. Perhaps the ticket prices are too high and they can´t afford a thing.
I have a look at it. Did you perhaps turn of the messages(settings)? Or have there been not enough passengers? It might be that you need around 4 on the train to sell anything.
Edit: Checked it should work just fine. However, I found another Bug in there. The bloody passenger wagons did not pick up as many people as they could. So in average, all the passenger carts will be more effective in the next build.
I´m afraid it needs it´s own browser window. Otherwise it get´s online 1 frame per second. The sadly the game needs at least 5/s in order to work correctly.
I got PMs for several years to continue that bloody thing. And a few weeks ago I opened it once again and saw that there were still some people playing it sometimes. So I had to do something.

Don't worry, I understand the time it takes to make a game evne as straightforward as this one. Given I used to be a progamming major myself. Stopped due to a math class wall and moved onto my main passion as a writer.
Anyway, manual saving might be doable, but I forget how, you should ask around on the game dev forums, see if any one else can help you.
Well yes, it´s doable. Just not out of the box with unity. I have to solve in Javascript. Most likely via the index file. However I know close to nothing about JS so I have to do some research in order to get this done.
That´s kinda a funny story...
That sound should mark the train getting rid of surplus pressure after the stop. However, I kinda managed to time it together with the water filling. And it sounds like that because it´s made with a free tool that generates 8bit sfx.

Well, its not saving for me still. And the settings tab is empty. Any tips for recovering my save data? Or a manual save? I'm on Firefox.

I still work on a solution for manual saves. Sadly that´s not that simple because browser denies unity access to the clipboard. SO there is no out of the box solution and I have to solve it via java script some how. Since I don´t know shit about JS that means I have to do a lot of research there.

So my save game was lost on me reloading, how does the game actually save? Not too bothered, just wishing I hadn't lost my progress. I was level 34 and headed for a second rebuild.
The game saves currently both on playerprefs and the persistentDataPath.
There is a manual offline save planed but it takes more time.

a possible bug - passanger 3th class, max lvl, but it's filled only from 0 -15 passangers at stations (maybe it's because exotic dancers? ;) )

Wow, very nice game. Save works now. Gold walls are boring though, adding some more clickable stuff for gold would be nice. I'm sure you have already some ideas, as this definatly feels like alpha, but I have never had such fun on a train. Choo-Choo!
At like Level 125 there is a wagon that increases gold and freight drops.
However, as you say it´s still an alpha. It´s really just a fraction of the planned content there yet.
And some player came already up with stuff I did not think about so there is a lot of potential.

somewhere in the comments you said each station gives you between 1+wagonlevel and max passengers but i very often get fewer passengers than passenger wagon level.

just one criticism, the ability to SELL the exotic dancers is just a little HUMAN TRAFFICKY. something to consider maybe?
