The math for adding the amount of cooling a fan adds to the reactor assumes that it will be hooked up to a network of pipes that deliver heat to it. If I add ONLY fans, the actual cooling is half of what is advertised. If I may suggest a change: Only increase the total amount of cooling when it is going to be used. For example, if an advanced heat vent is not hooked up to a pipe, it only gives 20 heat reduction to the reactor, but the reactor says it gives 40. Maybe a quick boolean check to see if it's adjacent to a pipe could fix this.

Bug: When I reload the game, cells that are already in the grid from before I loaded last MUCH longer than cells I place afterwards. The new ones only last a few seconds, even though before I reloaded when I placed them they lasted as long as the ones already in the grid are lasting.

Investing in the Iron/Silver/Gold/et cetera Heatsinks upgrades makes Reactor Plating a much better option than Heat Vents - not only are they more cost-effective, but they also can't overheat. Heat Vents probably need some sort of major buff to make them a more worthwhile option to compensate for requiring actual planning.

... fans become obsolete mid game and the 10m plating becomes even better then 50b fan. Unless I am not understanding something why not just fill the screen with cells and plating?

Balancing needs work. Ultimate Heat Vent provides a total of 40K cooling for 5B. Ultimate Reactor Plate with Silver Heat Sinks provides 40K of cooling for...110M, and every 40K after that costs only 10M.

Guide: Don't link your components. It seems like a good idea at first, but the heat generated makes it not worth it. Instead, you should just fill up the board with the cheapest fuel cells with spaces between them so they don't overheat. Reduce heat using storage+upgrades rather than vents/exchangers/coolants (those are utterly useless). And only use stronger fuel cells when you run out of space and have enough heat storage.

I had -21 heat per tick. I built a quad uranium cell. Heat wasn't rising. I build a second quad uranium, and a second later I have a melt down. :(

This is fun, but needs more (seems a little too close to a mod I know...). Another thing it needs to make it a true idle game is 'auto-renew' fuel sources. Shift-clicking on a fuel cell makes it auto-buy a new one when it expires.

Currently it seems there's no way to cool anything at and beyond 1 Dolorium Cell with vents, exchangers, and storage. The heat Exchangers just don't transfer heat fast enough, in the end the heat just builds up on it until it explodes. It's weird tho, if it can absorb 4K heat from the cell, and transfer 4K to (each of) the other directions, shouldn't that mean that the Heat Exchanger itself remain 'cool'? What I would like to see is a popup or someway to change the input and output of those Heat Exchangers. This so that the system doesn't make stupid loops or pushes the pieces over the top. But ofcourse, balances first I guess.

Little more investigation - only affected the cells I had at the time I refreshed to the new version. New cells work normally.

OK I read comments and see that you right-click to sell, but can't sell fuel cells. And, when I waited long enough, the plutonium cells did eventually deplete, just the green bar never moved for a long time, then it suddenly jumped down to like half or something. So a little buggy.

I refreshed to get the new version, and my quad plutonium cells are never depleting now (the green bar reset to full and is staying full), and I see no sell options although they are referred to in the update notes.

there is a major issue i found: you dont have to place cooler, heater and reactor together. for fun i tried to place them separately after several attempts to create some thing more... sorted.
i put the coolers and pipes at the top -pipe, cooler, piper, cooler,...- and the reactors at the bottom. guess what, it still worked. im not sure abt the possibilities to do it but there should be a requirement of all parts to be connected to work properly. otherwise the idea behind the game looses its purpose.

Also, not sure if its part of the game design since the game isn't really good at introducing itself, but I find it bothersome that I can't seem to make an early stable unit, that I have to rebuild the thing all the time.

@Theolin; Right click. @Gotoxy; the pipe only pulls a set amount of heat away in total, afaik. though it is still better to put 4 fans next to a pipe, in the shape of a "+". @MrGlobal; if you still have pipes left, they take some heat out of the reactor and try to balance it out. READ THE TOOLTIPS PEOPLE

During the start of the game trying to figure out the mechanics, it would be great that if you did something stupid (as I just did) and left you with 2$ and no way of getting a reactor, that you could scrounge for cash again, to go up to 10$

tip for everyone starting this game, go to options and game mechanics, it has some useful info about cells and how the heat grows exponentially when placed next to eachother.

hum.. this game doesnt seem to work properly or im getting it pretty wrong.
why if i put 3 fan adjacent to a a pipe, that pipe didnt get cold faster than a pipe with only 1 fan?

More bugs to fix :-D Somehow, the math doesn't work out. At a -2 the temp bar keeps stacking, e.g. 3 cells blew up, while the room was cooling and the room started to heat up...
It's too confusing to give it a general comment so hope this helps.
If not for the bugs, this game and concept are still awesome, though.

I'm running unity in linux and am having problems with the text rendering. I don't suppose you could share the name of the font you're using so I can whip up a workaround?
