I've always enjoyed this series. The most important change I think would be allowing the player to prioritize motherships as targets for THELs and missile launchers rather than the closest enemy. I find myself often building lazers out next to the motherships when they stop because the other weapons are busy with smaller ships. The default lazer seems superior to many of the upgraded ones for its cost, making some upgrades seem like a downgrade.

pretty good game but VERY VERY SLOW. the amount of time it takes to get the medium badge is about 2.5-3 hour. very slow indeed

it's idea is good but i would like to choose what to attack because if a mothership is attacking my thels take is fighters and later mothership it self. and also more buildings please.

The music is produced by Somatone, which is awesome because Somatone has done music for a lot of big names, Blizzard, Disney, and Ubisoft included.

it needs a "sandbox mode" where you can continue to build and expand, and endless waves of ships come at you to destroy you. that would be alot better

Awesome game. but i think it would be better if there was an infinity mode. where the game would just go on, and on, and on. that would make it better. 5/5

actually the game is well balanced, @gaztheman, you have to balance your resources, if you're running low on energy build another solar station, or better yet get an energy storage tank, so during those rough parts you can survive, and build your resources back up, for those who are saying basic lasers are broken, yes and no, basic lasers are good against small enemies in small-med groups, now if your facing the mother ship your screwed, you need either THEL's or missle launchers to defeat those unless its a protect mission

This wouldnt be so bad if they did some resource balancing... A lot of the time I either build defences, but dont have enough energy, or waste time building solar stations and energy storage, but have no way to protect them... I also dont get the fact that, despite it being a "build something then defend something" game, the building part is so frantic because you get a set of enemys IMMEDIATELY at the start of a level before you have chance to do anything...

agreed basic lasers are broken with that "put a zillion in one spot, then sell them and move them to the next spot the enemy is" tactic... eh still fun :D

4 fighters detected... wtf is the point of that? like 8 swarms of... 4 fighters? right after you've proven yourself able to take down 120 motherships at once!?!?

missile launchers are the best defense because of very high damage + very high range and (if upgraded) can shoot multiple missiles at a time. It's only vulnerability is the yellow ringer

The tutorial is a joke. It teaches you how to put some mining stations and relays on the screen, and to shoot a handful of enemies, then it leaves you to face hordes of hostile ships in tactically complex situations, with a learning curve as steel as a skyscraper. Apparently, those guys expect you either to own some inherited talent for playing this game, or have spent hours dealing with its predecessor. Why aren't they able to give you at least an idea of what to pay attention to?

Missle Launchers are good at certain points (such as the "protect the warp gate" when you have 24 mother ships coming at you for 6 different rounds, peice of cake when you use missle launchers (just dont upgrade them, build like 8)

But you need thels and rocket launchers for motherships.Never use thels against motherships later on though.rocketslaunchers have splash

@ urmelhelble - forget the missile launchers, AFAI see it's easier to use lasers -> pulsers for very first missions, and keep mining @ more than 1000 per minute; don't upgrade miners, just build them a lot. ;)

Anybody got tactical advice for a hopeful beginner? I managed two missions on normal setting now, but I got the impression I won't get much further. Takes lots of time until I get the minerals needed (> 20 min. for mission 2 altogether), and my first missile launcher was destroyed before I could turn a hand.

Lesson carried over from the first game: Basic lasers > everything else. Even if I do enjoy mega charged THEL outposts.
