why do the lasers spread their firepower evenly among all nearby enemies? making sure a fleet of fighters are all downed simultaneously should really not be high up on their list of priorities.

@ aidy So the game loses a point because you don't know how to use the different weapons? It's deigned that way on purpose. Lasers are fast, but use up energy, missiles are slow and use resources but do big damage and have large range. You want missiles for mothers, pulsars for close range. I never use thels. They're an imbalanced medium.

@ moses They are slower than lasers, but only about 5s or so delay. Missiles take resources tho, so maybe you're at 0 if they're not firing.

the missiles don't exactly fire with all due speed, do they?
i mean, i'm sitting there for 15 seconds on fast on the crazy difficultly and they haven't fired.

This game is amazing.4/5 only because when mother ships come in your energy runs out so I'd like to see an upgrade for energy relays. + if you agree. =)

4/5 would get the full 5/5 except for a few things. Targeting is a must; the ring ships soaking up missiles annoy's the crap out of me especially when 2-3 motherships tear into my base. I would also like to see an ability to upgrade my relays, they occasionally need more health in order to not split your base with one stray missile. THEL's need a balance too, the rape your energy. I don't know what the specifics are but a fully upgraded THEL can cost the same amount of energy as about 6 regular lasers, and the range means that it will constantly fire and take all that energy away from your miners. Besides the few game play changes i would like to see the game is still very fun, even if i don't want to stick around through all the Crazy missions.

Very good game the side missions if anyone has trouble with them build alot of repair stations and laser turrets. 5/5

I have everything done on crazy except weapon 2/6. I know someone else posted that they got lucky and did that level, but I don't see how it is possible - even with six fully maxed out missile sites in an arc right on the motherships, I can't beat it in time.

Ive tryed to get to level 10 3 times now but I just lost interest. I know it's a good game but it's just not my kind. I've had one achievement left for my "Best of 2009" badge for so long now but everytime i try and play this game I only get up to around level 4 :(

Can anybody tell me why the missile launchers don't launch missiles. They just sit there and watch the mother ships destroy whatever they like. Is it some kind of pink conspiracy??

Congratulations! You just won the "No One Could Hear You Scream" Badge and 60 points!
Impossible badge is only (truly) hard due to mission "Weapon 2/6" in Crazy mode, I redid it about 30 times until I got a lucky break, and most of the motherships spawned south.
The way I did it was with a line Power\Power-Power-Power-(Power+Repair+2Missile)-Power-Power-Power-Battery, each power is lvl 1, repairs/missiles are lvl 1 and putting 2 lvl 1 lasers on each of those powers to fend off initial waves.
Then, on the last node (9th), I built 6 missile launchers, upgraded to max, 1 good laser (for mothership fighters) and repair stations. Ofc you won't have resources for all that so as the ship moves, sell lasers/powers (not too much power)/repairs and finish the missiles and build repairs, worked for me.. barely.

Great game. Little hints to get through crazy: 1) lvl1 lasers do 40 dmg - more than its upgrades but slower. Clusters of lvl1 lasers will cost less and do more instantaneous dmg. 2) one lvl3 missile = 2 lvl2 missiles + 100 mineral. Slightly weaker missiles, but same amount and can aim different targets. 3) PAUSE when you upgrade/build to save time. 4) energy storages are awesome - good hp tank, repair stations + lasers take tons of energy, can take the place of solar stations if charged.

Mission 8 can be completed without making a single turret. Just make as many miners as possible as fast as you can, plus about three fully upgraded solar stations to power them. The enemy might blow up a few of your buildings, but you should reach your goal before your base is completely destroyed.

I doin't understand a few of the off-mission non-mining levels. After I protect the warp gate, the ship comes through but I have to rebuild my defence? And when I build the super miner, I have to rebuild my defences (in what would be 10 seconds later when the miner starts mining) when it starts mining, and then rebuild AGAIN when it's dismantled.

Guys, if this game isn't working for you, it's simply missing the last Adobe Flash Player. Google it, install it, and it should work for any system.

I have a Linux system, is it that you don't have the latest Ubuntu version to go with it?
do you use an emulator? 10.04 has a software center if you need flash player its easy.
it also could be your browser type, i saw people discussing that some things don't work well on kongregate.

To be honest I started this game for the 2009 quest. Now, I realize that this game is very fun. With all the different things to do. Survival,mining,energy. It's a very easy game to learn but hard to win as you progress. You have to keep your energy high which is usually the biggest issue for me ending with 10 solar systems. Very fun and entertaining game. 5/5

a thing id pledge for would be a way to build some spaceships of your own. they could actually dock to the repair station for repair, thereby blocking a place for a repair drone to use for a while. some units very similar to what the pirates send after you. cause that would also open the way for a multiplayer mode and im a fan of multiplayers. no AI can ever think out as many possible strategies as a human brain :)

I would like to add my voice in calling for some type of control over targeting, or at least a more intelligent AI in the missile turrets. I build enough missiles to hold off the swarms, and I'm doing great, but then some motherships show up behind some yellow rings, and the missiles all fire at the yellow ships while the mothers just unload their giant lasers.

Was really just playing this game cause of "best of 2009", but it actually wasn't as bad as my first impression. Good game! 4/5 from me.

Wow, What a good improvement to the first game. The badges are nice and the added layers of gamplay are fun too. Still, slightly repetitive.

Fantastic game! THELs are only useful when fully upgraded with energy stores to back them up. I would like to see an upgrade that allows you to scavenge resources from destroyed enemies.

I finally completed 10 missions on normal. Not to difficult but time consuming. I played missions 1-8 then went to ' weapon 1/6: gate construction ' then skipped to ' response 1/4: push back ' (which was very easy) to complete the medium badge. Getting the badge was fun but I will not pursue this game any further.
