I'm writing this as I play so if stuff goes wrong for you dont blame me.
Start off by putting vegetable down because that gives your pet health. Once hes fineshed grab him put food down where he gets dragged to then put 50 mutagen x on him. as soon as youve gave him the chem let go of him and start petting him so he can let off a bit of steam.

guide to a happy awesome looking rat:
feed him regulary but not to much the order of food should be as followed meat,veg,petfood
dose him with anathstetic 50 be4 mutatingalways put 55 mutateX or he will become stressfull and die
dose him with stimulant to wake him up
when he eats after mutating make sure to put 10 radout so he dont become savage
scan him every 10 mins of playing to make sure hes ok
use irradator every hour so he dont become to stressful useing that item
pet him when your not mutating him or feeding him to make him confortable and make him feel secure DONT restrain him that only makes him madder and die of anger but IF you have to dont restrain his head that stops him from eating his normal time and 1 thing DONT MUTATE HIM TO OFTEN hope this was helpful

it can't die if you have it in restraints the whole time. oh, and to those who don't know how to mutate, go to chem, then click the arrow below "inject" and choose MutagenX then click the syringe.

Yea... I just found out something on a different website with this game... it IS possible to clone your labrat, thus raising all its skills by 2 EXCEPT intelligence. (Int.) However, I have not done it, but somebody else did.
