Under rating threshold (show) To max population growth rate put additional ppl into making food. More food - higher pop growth rate. Please read mini-walkthrough in best comment (or find mine own in previous comments)

Under rating threshold (show) @TimGun, just upgrade fields for the first era, making sure you have a few research points saved for the second era. When you get to that, get a few upgrades of oar (boats) and only upgrade that from now on (except for the upgrades to get towards the last tech).

Under rating threshold (show) I think the difficulties need tweaking. It says that Settler has a higher chance of good events happening, yet the first time I played it after losing Deity a few times, I didn't get anywhere near as many special events like increased food production from finding items or whatever, and each new dynasty had a negative effect. It went: Frailty > Frailty > Frailty > Wasteful > Stupidity. But on Deity all I ever got were positive dynasties.

Under rating threshold (show) I think I broke the game... Levelled writing to, like, level 20 or so, and got 7 research points every turn. So I added then to writing again a few times and boom! 2k research points per turn, for all my technology needs! I promptly went and leveled the technologies to lvl 100 and above, and then stuff got weird - I think the numbers and stuff exceeded their boundaries, and were displayed as zeroes, but still worked as billions or trillions or whatever it was in the end. Remember kids – stacking up percentages is dangerous! :D

Under rating threshold (show) Fun fact! Once you reach get far enough (after beating the game) you run into "features" concerning number representation, the lvl 15 wonder costed -1.8B and upgrading to lvl 50 was essentially free... Then you get ~2k research points in one turn and after upgrading selection to lvl 500 the food gain reads "+null" :D

Under rating threshold (show) I felt like this game was one giant positive feedback loop. Start winning? Nothing can stop you! Start losing? Might as well hit restart, son. Interesting, enjoyable games need to have a way for you to come back from defeat, and make things more difficult when everything is going well.

Under rating threshold (show) Ok... on the first time that i follow zzxxzz3's advice, I get into a war with one of my neighbors, never get attacked and steal three culture, I finish step one about 600 years early and then reach population cap... I think i might have had some four leaf clovers in my salad or something.

Under rating threshold (show) Gotta say, I'm not sure how having an Army strength of 45M then upgrading the strength (apparently by 50%) results in 46M...Also, when you lose a battle, it will tell me I've lost say 40000 people, but my population figure falls by a lot more than that...

Under rating threshold (show) The hardest thing was start: good is what zzxxzz3 gave plus: put all (12) ppl into field x turns, then first mysticism (1) man into - around 0.3 ppl income and to no let be lower. Next breeding - 2 ppl into, then cattle - 7 ppl into, rest of ppl into field and full temple. Mysticism - around 3-5 ppl and maxed population putting max ppl into cattle - stay around 8%. When i put a little less attention to praying than maxed population is started to make sense. Before (around) 4000 i buy stone weanpons to build barrack - build it and danger high treat drops significantly frreing extra ppl :) Try as far as you can to buy and to put ppl into production!

Under rating threshold (show) In Desc of Neolithic Age it has a typo saying 'If' instead of 'Of' after 'the using' and before 'nature elements' Your Barracks gives a massive 5000% Strength bonus but your Walls give you 50%... Like those numbers are right... BTW Whenever a battle occurs this happens to be the formula: If Enemy Strength Or Leaders Cunning is Low than 100% Win Chance. If Enemy Strength Or Leaders Cunning is Medium Or High 100% Fail Chance. Every 10K population the threat level goes slightly up also. For example Turn 404 with a massive power of 16m with Threat at 37%. If I put all my people I would have a strength of 20m still 31% that's pretty good I would say. And at the end there is an automatic collapse where the population collapses. It sounds a bit like Babylon which also was quite emptied in its final days. Dates are still pretty snappy so yeah.... There were many nasty neighbors that would try to attack it so explains a lot.

Under rating threshold (show) 1st age: animal breeding -> spam cattle mudbrick construction for population limit before 2nd age, research 2 required techs to unlock stonebrick construction 2nd age: spam veterinary medicine, stonebrick when close to population limit. before 3rd age, research pre requirements for writing 3rd age: writing -> code of law -> spam selective breeding and city planning(when close to population limit) research megastructure when you are close to 2.5M production. at turn 120 you should have 400-500k population, and population growth of 40k/turn. 0 workers in mine, 0 in temple, but your population passive bonuses grants you 1 technology every 1-2 turns, and 200k production/turn. Buildings: mudbrick houses and corral as soon as possible. you can eventually waste 1 research point at anytime to get stone weapon and the barracks if you have high treat level. and that's all, you save up all other building points for the pyramid.

Under rating threshold (show) Oh and ALWAYS fight if their strength is "low", you'll always succeed, and you get a permanent 10% strength bonus. Even if they have low cunning as well, fight, the bonus is worth the population loss.

Under rating threshold (show) Important note: your military strength/threat level has no impact whatsoever on how difficult incoming threats are. It only changes how often you're attacked. It is entirely feasible once you hit a critical point with Farming or Animal Breeding (where your population just starts exploding) to completely forego any defense at all (100% threat) because it's still reasonably likely that they'll be low strength or cunning and you can beat them, and if you can't you have your crazy population growth to make up for the losses. Also "medium" strength or cunning is utterly identical to "high", with a 0% success chance. If there's nothing low, flee, it's your only chance of success.

Under rating threshold (show) Glitch? 1,3B is a max for all the counter in the game. Just after you've got negative counter and the counter start again to 0. How it can be used ? Buy any Building for more than 1,3B, the next level of this building will cost -1,3B (gain) and the second next will cost 500k... Be careful it's the same for the max population above 1,3B the counter is negative > and you lose :(.
