Description: Escape an endless nightmare haunted by monstrous creatures! How the hell do I escape something that's endless?!

Finished in 2 tries, roughly 5 minutes. Fast but too easy and could use much much more upgrades. None the less a nice concept, just way too easy the monsters seem to be there for decoration they are no real thread at all. The jumps are what kills you not the monsters.

After my previous comment and playing, I must say the game balance has definitely improved. The monsters are more frequent and annoying, while the jumping is a lot less impossible at some points. Raised my rating from 3/5 to 4/5, and will be interested to see a sequel.

It's nice to look at and nice to play, but it could got a lot further by respecting traditional gaming dynamics. EXP should be earned by running and/or killing monsters, or if you want to keep the current system it should be renamed. You should be able to hang on to bombs, and potentially to choose which skills you want to invest in.
I also reckon you could put in another two levels without adding much and it would still make the game satisfying. Ground tremors/features would be interesting. Still, well done!

very good game, maybe you might want implement stages with a boss at the end of each one? and maybe a money sytem or something so you can buy/upgrade weapons.

If I get a Bomb, I am not always in a position where it would be a good thing to set it off at that exact moment. Perhaps getting a bomb should let you hold onto a bomb, which you can then activate at any time. That opens up the skill avenue of "Hold More Bombs" and "More Effective Bombs", where they have multiple waves of bullets per bomb and/or more bullets per bomb wave.

Monsters were pretty easy save for a few brief instances where the whole army spawned at once. If the shotgun is going to have limited ammo there should really be a way to toggle its fire on and off, seems ridiculous to waste all of its ammo when theres nothing to kill, likewise by the time I had the 3rd firing upgrade the shotgun was used up in no time flat, I literally killed only one enemy because between the time that I got it and like 5 seconds later there was only one enemy. A greater variety in weapons would be nice but seeing as there wasnt a great amount of challenge it is tough to justify adding more weapons.

Maybe also slightly increasing speed along the run (maybe it does already), and maybe some thorny/tentacly walls with holes you have to go through, not touching its borders. These also increases difficulty of jumps and forces the player to calculate how high they should jump. Well, hope it helps! =)

I disagree about jump height. You should be able to control jump height with how much you hold jump button.
I almost beat the game (easy mode) in one go. I only didn't because I stupidly failed one jump just short of the end (it wasn't a hard jump at all). But when I started over, my jump height was so high it made it really hard to jump over the first holes, but it got easier as I progressed! I mean, you can't really expect it to get EASIER as you progress through a level nor HARDER as you get xp and level up, right?
Wanna get away from "only double jump needed"? Larger plataforms won't do the trick. Instead, try putting really small plataforms in the middle of really large holes, or maybe something lime TT__TT__________TT would force you to single jump then double jump.

Agreeing about the jump height... I know that it is intended to make it difficult, but it's bad that that is the ONLY thing that makes this game difficult. It's just frustrating to miss a jump like that, or to make a V around power-ups because you don't have a choice. Other than that though, you have a great template for a great runner. I can't wait for the sequel to see how you can improve it :)

Oh hey, Kingdom Hearts font. Easy mode is easy indeed, only died once before finishing and I blame that on some kind of lag my computer decided to have. I guess I'll keep playing just to have a more fulfilling experience. :P

In the sequel, make the protagonist female, and you'll have some plot. After all, it makes more sense for a woman to run away from tentacle monsters... :D

A few comments: The game is interesting and nice, and the music's decent, if a little repetitive. The graphics work and the levels and powerups are all right. The stumbling block is the platforming and controls.
Being unable to control your jump height is not an example of good controls. It's artificial difficulty for the platforming, which is somewhat finicky. A suggestion for proper difficulty: Allow controllable height distances, vary the platforms more (see Canabalt for examples, and I know this had to be at least partially inspired by that), and possibly include more/faster/trickier monsters to distract.
As things are right now, this game is, at best, 3/5. Not bad, but it needs improvement.
Also, those don't look like aliens, they look like Cthulhoid monstrosities (I know many Cthulhu creatures are from space, but Cthulu itself is not.)

Dang it... I made it all the way to the end just to be killed by a boss since I didn't kill it before getting into the portal, thus resulting in a game over... Really big turn off... :/

Great game! But... I had a reoccurring problem. I died quite a few times because my bullets did not seem to hit the monster because of the way they followed the gun.

"Escape the aliens," says the badge? Not even close. These are not aliens. These are Cthulian nightmares. So much worse.

Dear Dev, thank you for being another dev that makes a game to remind me just how badly my old computer lags. Cool game though :)

Excellent game over all, in the sequel I would like to see the screen scroll and you have to move with it using w/a/s/d or arrow keys.

personally, I loved the little platforms, it made you have to jjudge where you have to jump (or double jump) great going clockwork!!!!!!!

Last comment I have about this - you know you've got something good when the player is sad when it's over. I do hope to see the sequel expanded though. Various weapons, a story maybe, more gameplay, upgrades etc.

For those of you who have issues with the double jump timing I have two suggestions.
1. You can run off a platform without jumping and then use your second jump (this way you can avoid over jumping).
2. If you want to practice the double jump timing, play Super Ghouls n' Ghosts and I guarantee you will become a pro! =w=
Great game. Can't wait for the sequel!
