It builds dark knights. You can view how many dark knights you have gained from the altar under Kingdom Overview or in the options menu. You must RESET for the dark knights to officially add to your kingdom resource gain. ~Taiga

Hey dev, you mentioned OCD on a response here, how about this for OCD update, saw it on another idle: Round up the number of buildings purchased. If I have 102 farms and I use the buy 100 option, 98 farms are bought rounding it up to 200.
Every minute I spend trying to logic solutions in my code for OCD people, is a minute not spent adding new content to the game. If my game is still going strong after I've added ALL the promised content, then I will definitely work on OCD touch-ups as that would be the next logical thing to do. ~Taiga

I know this has been mentioned, but my army is ridiculous and all I'm doing is waiting for more money. I understand that is the only way to slow the game down as it stands, but even with all of the achievements I still have to wait days for a single upgrade. There has to be something you can do.
I have no plans to speed the game up by nerfing costs. I will be, instead, adding more things for you to invest your money in to gain more money. The game lacks variety as it stands so that is the reasonable solution. ~Taiga

Am i just conquering the world ,JUST to give back all the land and burn all of touria's economic buildings to get more dark knights to repeat it?

Guys as stated by the queen herself(Yotsuba) I quote
"I am reworking the entire system to make country conquering more fun rather than just gaining some gold and troops off them I will let you use troops to enhance their benefit as well as adding more structures to build"
So dont forget that the game and its mechanics are still very much just prototypes and probably will be changed completely, so...cut yer yappin generals or ya'll be send to the block and I will have ye heads rollin' by the sun settin'...aherm...that is all...

Country returns aren't so bad. Right now, a few hours after reset with 54mil DKs, I'm making about 36% of my income from the conquered world and I've spent significantly less than 1% of my earned-income since reset getting there. More DKs makes conquering much more valuable.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The conquering system is really crapy. When i went for Grey Isles I needed 336Mil army power to attack. Which was about 2Bil troops. But when i attacked only 500Mil troops did. So i had about 1/4 of the enemy power. Stil won....

@ken030988 To be honest, once you get enough DKs, conquering goes by so fast it gets hard to do it often enough to get maximum number of countries conquered while still remaining as an idle game. Ideally it's only taking me 2 hours to conquer the world, so it's probably feasible at that rate to conquer the word 7 or 8 times in a day, yet I probably only manage half of that.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
jvcochran, right. You don't really conquer countries for gold, you do it for the +5 dark knight gain multiplier if you get all of them. That's equivalent to 5 achievements.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Good game overall, however, the return on investment for conquering countries is RIDICULOUSLY poor! For example, by my very rough math (don't complain if I'm off a bit), after conquering Cuoowana, it will take over 61 days to recoup my initial $550M spent to invade, based on the $43,358 that I get every 7-8 seconds.

I just wanted to say I really appreciate all the new updates, and the bug fixes. Thank you for taking time to take care of the game. :)

@DemonHylix: Idle games are supposed to be slow... If you get all the money for all your needs in 1 hour where is the idling? You are supposed to log off, go sleep, wo to work/school/gym/whatsoever then come back. This is an idle game that keeps going while you are logged off, so there is no need to have fast stuff unlike the idle games that you need to keep them runing in a tab.

I've found a bug: when I start the game, all the menus are blank. This can be fixed by scrolling in the menus, but the next time I start the game, they are blank again. This isn't really a gamebreaking bug, but it's a bit annoying.

Do you have the ability to add a new scoreboard type? If so, can you make it to where it shows how many DK someone has. I'm interested and I believe that it may help you too
We had this during game launch, then it filled up with hacked and cheated amounts so we closed it down since I have better things to do than to spend all day every day trying to stop cheating in my game. ~Taiga

Plot twist: Catherine's personality is based on real Taiga (the programmer). This explains why he/she is the one making the programming and dialogs on his/her own.

Catherine is the most adorable Tsundere on Earth. They should make a Manga out of this where she ends up falling in love with the General.

@Hauntred: I think you need try conquering later and at first you need to spend money on buldings and troops. I have 109k Knights and the highest country I can conquer now - is the "Isle of Kalilze" which'll give 7 mill. If it was per 1 second - it can be worth, but... Country give profits only per 9 (or even 12) seconds. My Cathedral give me 17 mill. per nearly 7 seconds. Conquering is not worth it at early stage. You need to beat 700 counts for Farm and Market, it's real and it will give much more gold then.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Honestly, I thought conquering early on (With only 200k knights) was going to be not worth it as the returns were quite low. Then I noticed the later countries gave decent returns for the price and am regretting not conquering them sooner.

@foofoo1190: At first i thought it was a bit weird too but using some logic, there is no way having 0 multiplier means you will get 0 DK no matter how many altars you build, so i thought of a little something that can help to understand (even if its not programmed by the logic of what im about to say, it still works to understand it). Lets say every building have a base multiplier of 1 then the multipliers from DK, achievments, etc are added to that base. For example, the altar, you will get something like: Dark knights per bar = [2(1+achievments multiplier + world conquest multiplier), where "2" is the base value or altar, "1" is the base multiplier. That way if your achievments and conquest multiplier are 0 you will have [2(1+0+0) = 2(1) = 2. The idea is to have this imaginary base multiplier "1" and then just add w/e you have as bonus multipliers.

"Altar starts at 0. First achievement is 1." If you say this is working as intended and it's more of a typo than bug then I believe you. It's your game. :-) But I'd still like to understand; If the multiplier starts at 0 then shouldn't we not get any DK at all until we hit 100 Altars since 0*anything=0. Also, I still don't understand why at 99 Altars I get 198 DK and at 100 I get 200. That's the same rate. Where's the gain?
Because, before you get 200 achievements the altar only adds by its base value of 2. 198 + 2 = 200. I have code in place to check for a 0 and stop it from multiplying by it. Programming is all math, yes, but there are ways you can cheat the math system to stop undesirable calculations from happening. I wish I could just correct my typo so people could stop being so confused but it can't happen until the next update. I apologize for the confusion over this. ~Taiga

@desciclope: I consider myself a hardcore gamer and I play this. The reason is simple. As i've stated in previous comments, i never spend more than 5 minutes per round in this game, just come, check my gold, buy/conquer and save before going to any of my main games. Yet, with so little effort and time i've been slowly crawling and getting into the top 100. It gives me a feeling of achieving something like it would be in any other game, except i dont have to ditch the games that i like to focus only in 1 thing, which is awesome. 2 weeks ago i got this urge to play old jrpg games (psx, dc, ps2 mainly) and i usually focus only in 1 game at a time dropping everything else until im done, yet, i dont need to drop this idle game while im playing other game and that fits perfect for me.
I've been wanting to play FF9 again soooo badly >_> Like this craving that just eats at you until you finally succumb to its temptation. Kinda wish Square would release it on Steam like it did the others as I don't have any way to play console games anymore. ~Taiga

Wait... visual novel? Fully programmed yourself (ie: not ren'py)? If this makes things as awesome as I hope, I might just bump this from 4 (max I feel I can give to an idle game) to 5 stars.... and maybe people like desciclope666 might consider it more of a 'real' game :P (Although he might criticize those too)
Yeah but I don't plan to have an affinity system with Catherine. I just plan to have the dialogue interaction of a visual novel. I'm coding it myself using C# because I don't have much of a choice at this point. I can get it to one conversation with 1 dialogue choice that branches off to two different paths but making multiple dialogue choices in the same conversation that branch off to a different response from Catherine is where the wall I hit is at. *cries* If I can get a good system down I can be REALLY creative with it, otherwise I can still be creative but you won't be able to expect dialogue choices to affect what she will say to you later, instead only affect what she says to you in that particular conversation... nor would I be able to make it so her attitude towards you change based on what you say to her. So try not to have super high expectations in those regards. ~Taiga
Well in my research when I used to write a lot I discovered that light novels are now the popular thing. Short stories that range from 20-100k words rather than 250k+ words. You are probably right :3 I'm currently setting the dialogue overhaul up as a real visual novel with dialogue choices that take you to different things to read but the programming for this is challenging, I will succeed though! If I programmed Idle Conquest, a little visual novel programming can't stop me! :3 ~Taiga

I don't know why but whenever theres a health bar or conquest bar I always thought of it as 1,000,000 soldiers pushing and stabbing the health bar. Also If you are having troubles with gold requirement for raiding I suggest to keep fighting until you have around 2-3 million Dark Knight if you reset because then money gain is alot more faster and more effiecent

why idle "games" even exist? what kind of casual plays this kind of bull? you ppl are worse than the ppl that send me requests on facebook games.
Idle 'games' are more of an 'activity' than a game. It's something to do that requires very little time and effort freeing them up to do other things. One could argue they can just not play this at all then they are freed up completely but games like this are easily played while in class or doing other things that don't allow them to play a serious game instead. It is the very definition of casual gaming. I am sorry you disapprove of our game and the people playing them and I wish you luck in your pursuit of real games. :) ~Taiga

@VileVestal: Conquest have a higher RoI than gold buildings at around 500 to 600 upgrade or 600 to 700 upgrade for the buildings. The later zones have a higher ROI than earlier ones, so I'd start once my gold mine get to 500 at latest. This is until you get the 9th achievement set, then you can delay it for another hundred as your gold structures generates quite a bit more(and chances are you have some extra DK such that you can blow through the conquest faster hence no early start required). I tend to build gold structures to 400 before starting on units and keep units 100 below gold.

@Taiga lol. Sure, that's one of the main points to all idle games, but there are things that makes some more interesting than others. Themes of course help. A decent balance and good content - and Queen Catherine is a fun addition that helps with making Conquest much more interesting than it would otherwise be. :D
Yeah I apologize for my misjudgment but I am going to make this up with the dialogue overhaul. I'm pouring years of character creation and creative writing experience into this one. Writing is one thing I feel really confident about. I just never felt confident the internet has people who like to read :P ~Taiga

Thank you foofoo1190. It appears people have misunderstood what I was saying: Until you have enough Dark Knights to conquer the world (and you need them to conquer the world I think), any money spent on troops or conquering territories before that is wasted because the ROI is miniscule and all the territories and troops will be lost when you do the next DK reset. So, before you have (I guess) a few million dark knights then you should ignore the map and all the troop buildings. That seems a pity. It makes the game less fun early on. It seems to me that the correct way to play at the moment is to build the alter up (and build money buildings to pay for that) until you have a few million Dark Knights and then and only then start building troops and conquering territories. If territories got stronger (harder to conquer) as time went on and stayed conquered after DK resets then it would fix that.
*EDIT* and you can read deathvonduel's comment above. The game does have a lot of strategy to resource gain. Yes the game is based on an idle rewards system. The more you idle in our idle game, the more rewards you will get. Once we add the new economy structures you can build and let you spend troops to increase gains in conquered countries, it should have more fun for people who have just started playing me thinks. ~Taiga
As soon as I can crack this programming logic puzzle regarding how I plan to handle the new dialogue overhaul, it should just fall into place rather quickly. For now I hit a wall but after I beat the wall down with a sledge hammer I can walk through it and continue down the update cave effortlessly :) ~Taiga
