*Never experienced any lag before the update, but now it seems to be a bit more...* Seems to be working better after refreshing the page...
Is it working ok now? I'm working at odds here with Unity's 4.6 web player version. My code and everything has been optimized and should be better on performance yet there's still something going on that I do not know what it is. ~Taiga

about 102 billion to go from 210 to 310 altars... that 10x more expensive number that hyperjag7 came up with seems about right... even tho the dev says it isnt... oh well

I am getting game ruining levels of lag even at the lowest quality settings and cursor toggeled off. it takes 30 seconds to change to a different section of the menus. can you tell me anything to help fix that? it is a great game by the way five stars and favorited.
That's odd... I'm wondering how many more people are experiencing this. I can't leave my game laggy that's for sure but I also need to confirm if it's widespread or a slim minority of people because widespread would indicate it is my code, a slim minority would indicate a person's computer hardware is having compatibility issues with Unity's 4.6 webplayer version. ~Taiga
Things got more expensive, 10x though? Nah :P The Kingdom Overview screen is setup perfectly to help people plan how they are allocating their resources and when they should reset so it is possible to strategize your resources now ;) ~Taiga
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Did the cost for buildings go up? Seems like it costs much more for altars now, but could just be my imagination... won't know for sure til i reset...
The altar speed will remain at a constant value now. The quantity gained was not nerfed. Conquering the world adds to altar multipliers and the update will include a dialogue overhaul for Catherine and new economy structures which will be adding more gold and what not gained. The gains were not nerfed too badly it was a slight 'nerf' for now but it will be changed more once I've added the new economy structures which give you more resources. The slight nerf was to accommodate for the fact that you can gain permanent multiplier boosts to the altar per world-conquest now. ~Taiga

How is there a high score list attached to a game with no score in it? What does the high score list count as the score?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@snowskeeper Well, you have to give the developer some artistic license to create the game as they see fit, don't you? Still, allowing people to turn off the dialogue if they don't want it seems like a good compromise.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you're planning on adding more dialogue and story stuff, could you rework her personality, please? It's not the power-hungry egocentric maniac part I'm worried about, it's the fact that half her lines sound like something out of a poorly-translated dubbed anime. Either that, or give us a way to turn dialogue off altogether. Whatever's easier, I guess.
I like how I wrote Catherine. However I plan to allow you to disable the dialogues when I add the dialogue overhaul. Majority of people like Catherine so you'd be in the minority of people playing the game who do not like her, there are likely people who don't play the game cuz they don't like her but I don't count them. On a side note, I didn't intend to fill the dialogue up with cliche over-used tsundere text when I do make her dialogue overhaul, I'm trying to shoot for some form of originality and not overusing 'anime' concepts that are likely to annoy people rather than amuse. The 'poor-translated dubbed anime' text were a non-serious attempt by me to be ironic as those lines actually stand out to everyone and immediately say "tsundere" in as few words as possible. ~Taiga

I think there should be an attacked feature where after you become powerful enough the other countries attack you since you've been going around conquering other countries
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Something that would be nice is if the scrollbars of the various tabs remember where you were scrolled to if you switch between them. This would for example mean you don't have to scroll past all the conquered countries to get to countries conquer each time you go back to the Map tab.

As you said in the update, there will be a lot more dialogue involving Catherine, and a lot more storyline stuff.
I wonder if you do something concerning the achievements. Every achievement could unlock a new side mission in a visual novel style. I see that altar achievement description say a lot about creatures and techniques of... well dark nature. I wonder if you will ever expand this. There is a lot of comedic potential for explaining how dark magic also brings some consequences. You could give us some dialogue involving problems that demons and other creatures bring. Of course, without effect on gameplay.

Since it seems like at all times you have more troops than you always need to conquer, maybe a good idea would be to throw random incursions into your lands when the current troops is at least twice as big as the next territory you need to conquer, it could provide some spoils of war in the form of money ( defeated warriors would net money ) or veterancy of the troops increasing your army power.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
At this stage there is no reason to get any troop making buildings for the first few resets until you can conquer everything in one reset as it takes far to long to get your money back from conquering. You are best just focusing on gold and dark knights

There needs to be some bonus for each time you completely take over Touria, that way it makes it worth the time to take over all the islands before a reset.

It's sad that this tsundere teenager on a power trip has a better understanding of economic policy than most politicians.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So every Dark Knight reset you're really going back in time to when Touria wasn't originally capable of fending off any enemies. At this point and with this many Dark Knights, all of these countries basically go to bed one night seeing Tourians living in mud huts, and then wake up to see 500 trillion soldiers decked out in plate armor at their doorstep. Think about that every time you reset.

Just a heads up the tool tip says that you get a .01% increase to production for each BK, however it takes 10,000 to get 1% so that's actually .0001% per BK. Just thought you might want to update message in game.

Combined the countries gives an nice boost in gold, over long term. And for the Barracks, and arenas. the last country is quite an unit expensive country. so find their best usage there.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
At which point in game Barracks, Arena and Castle starts to become useful? By that I mean: war is very expensive and conquered countries gives very little profits, in comparison to upgrading gold buildings over and over. So after every DK reset I keep building Farm/Market/Gold Mine/Cathedral/Altar, and when I finally get gold quicker, I have many millions army from sole Cathedral able to conquer most of world, if only.. I had more gold ;) So I conquer few countries and realize, that instead spending X billion gold to conquer another one, it would be more profitable for me to build 10 more levels of Gold Mine. What about others, do you build Barracks, Castles and Arenas, or also safe you gold for more useful things? Cathedral is enough for me to build strong army, so I build other Troop Buildings only before resetting DK - to reach new achievements. Maybe to conquer last in game countries I will need them, don't know yet, but for most of game these building seems to be of little matter.

Hey Taiga!
First, thanks for det best idle game i have played for a looong time. The one I keep coming back to play :)
I made it pass the 4 mill DK and all the map is mine(MUHAHAHAHAHA!!1!). Will there be more "objectives" with the new update or "just" the kingdom overview and other stuff you was talking about?
Anyways, Im looking forward to see the update and hope it will give me some more things to go after.
This update adds some things such as +5 to altar multiplier every time you conquer the world and reset your game and other oddities such as that. Since the only way to gain altar multipliers is through achievements, this will make conquering the world the only other way to make your altar produce more dark knights. The next big update I will begin working on is Catherine. All her dialogue will be reworked, rewritten, I will have a professional RPG-style dialogue box that you will advance conversation by clicking on it and will be able to reply back to her with preset dialogue choices (With many chances to deliberately annoy her to get a reaction :P ). ~Taiga

Tell me I'm not the only one who thinks that Catherine locks herself in her room at night and pretends she's a Magical Girl. CUTENESS OVERLOAD!
Mahou Shojo Catherine MEW! *Fires star scepter powers for maximum world conquest* *twirls around* GENERAL IS NO MATCH WITHOUT MY MAGIC! MEW MEW! *stops to look at a mirror* Ohhh... so magical AND cute! (I need to go to bed, overtiredness is bad for me >_> ) ~Taiga
Nobody will lose anything. I've worked my code very carefully and put checks in place to make sure you guys can keep playing happily without fear of massive data loss :3 ~Taiga

@SuShiWaRRioR, Yes. restart. yes, the DKs stick around indefinitely (and so do the achievements, but not the upgrades)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
How much do the dark knights boost production? I haven't restarted the game yet, but it's gotten really slow now (500-600 of most buildings up to gold mine), with not much gain in a day. So is it better to restart now or keep going? And will the dark knights stay for good (if I restart again, will I only keep the dark knights produced in that run, or will it be cumulative?)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@RyanRiverside: The idea started with "lets cap the max amount of soldiers to reduce the number of your soldiers that stay in the invaded country so you can have more avaiable to conquer another country" but now its kinda pointless since we have too many soldiers anyway. I never let the game runing for more than 2 minutes which means conquering is useless for me (since it doesnt work offline until next update). After the next update if even without cathedral soldiers i still have too many then i would join to your suggestion to unleash my whole army into 1 country for a faster battle.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Taiga: Awesome! It's just frustrating to have 1000x the Army Power of an enemy, and then sit there for five minutes waiting for the battle to play out. Kudos and 5* for being attentive and responsive! :-)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I love the game, but I wonder why you've chosen to arbitrarily cap the number of troops who can commit to each battle. I feel like Queen Catherine would share my sentiment of throwing everything you can at a battle, instead of what appears to be roughly 180% of whatever the enemy brings. If I could bring my whole army to each battle, they'd be over much more quickly. I'd accept higher troop losses for the ability to battle more often.
I don't actually think it would be hard to implement this I will see what I can do with it and get something like this out a few days to a week after the big update goes live. ~Taiga

currently trying to win w/out any resets. Currently lvl 7 farm achievement, lvl 4 barracks, lvl 6 marketplace, lvl 4 arena, lvl 5 goldmine, lvl 3 castle, and lvl 4 cathedral as far as achievements. Conquest wise, my next target is Zanonia. Can't say I remember when I started this idlefest though
Hmm... mathematically... without any dark knights you would need 750,000,000,000 troops to conquer gray isles. 750 billion lol. To overexaggerate things, assume you are gaining a total of 500,000 troops per second, 1,500,000 seconds to gain that many troops, 25,000 minutes, 416 hours = 17.36 days leaving it idling nonstop with a troop gain of 500,000 per second (which is an extreme exaggeration). The Kingdom Overview screen should be out soon and that will allow everyone to pinpoint the near exact time it will take to do anything so you will know when a reset is necessary :3 ~Taiga

I'd like to see all of the country names on the map change to Touria once conquered, while the key on the right keeps the original name. I don't think Catherine would approve of the blatant usurpation of power in keeping their names!
I agree with this idea but our artist built the names into the map and it's no longer editable >_> I can't change names that aren't separate text objects unfortunately. I will likely see what can be done later on though because I think it should all read Touria too. Or at least remove the old names, keep the red and, after you conquer a continent, it will write big letters Continent of Touria or what not. Trust me, I'm looking for new ways to make the conquering feel more 'epic' without actually creating a battle scene which I feel would be a bad idea. ~Taiga
Because our rating is 3.78 instead of 4.0+. We decided to use a new version of Unity that has random stability issues for people so people opened the game and, instead of installing Unity web player and updating things they hit 1 star and moved on. The people who gave the game a try come back every day it would seem, but the rating really REALLY hurt us. We tried to encourage people to 5 star but it created a backlash for us being the 'dev asking for a high rating' lol. But even so, I will continue working on it until the promises I made are kept. If the game continues to do really well, I will take care of the game like my own child, otherwise if the plays diminish we will need to start production on a new game since I have no idea how to get the game more plays if it's not on the 'hot' list anymore >_> ~Taiga

@Rickey: Hell, no! DK increase too fast in my opition. Why would you even want it to be faster? Lets say in 1 day you get 100k DK. Then you reset and on 2nd day you get 110DK (+100DK you had from previous day) then you reset and on 3rd day you get 120DK, etc. In 1 week you should have 1m DK that means x2 multiplier (equal +100% gains). With 2x money you buy 2x altars so now you get 200k on next day, then 220, etc. End of 2nd week you have 3m DK. Which is already enough to conquer every country.

the thing with achievements is that getting the 900 ones its actually pretty hard just to get no reward. Just got the 900 farms and feels underwelming xD.
When the update is out, the 900 farms achievement is worth a grand total of 675 multiplier from achievement instead of a grand total of 9. I hope that will make it more worth it. ~Taiga

The problem with Dark Knights is that with a lot of them, they make all other multiplier additions so small they barely affect anything. If the DK bonus was multiplicative rather than additive, this would be solved.
Nah making them multiplicative is a recipe for disaster. I don't feel everything should 'stay' useful forever. I mean once you've been playing for a month and have like 10 million or so dark knights, why should 5 achievement levels still need to matter? Those 5 achievement levels still helped you get those dark knights up anyways and that's what I feel is important here. Achievements got a buff next update though. ~Taiga
