Note: I read some game files, and it turns out different buddies are good with different weapons. for your friend Hank Hanky, his level for automatics are decent, but his aptitude for long barrels (shotgun) and blunts are very effective. Kelly though, is good with both blunts and blades, and very good with pistols and average with automatics. Hope this helps!

Stay by the area before the docks and you will find one of the two rare drops, the weapon you will fin is a Strata with or without perks

This is like the best game in the series! The last two were like a defense game and they changed it to a RPG Survival-Horror Game! Nice move.

I noticed the Fallout reference with the Bottle Cap item. "Wonder if these will be currency." Bottle caps are the currency in Fallout.

The Kevlar vests DO provide protection when it in the torso... after searching I have found that Police Kelvar vest reduces 25% of damage from all enemies, Military Kevlar blocks 50% of damadge from enemies and HERC Kevlar (if you bought the premium package) reduces 75% damage, Just in case people think they are useless and the helmets only reduce gunfire damage....

Your level actualy resets to :( this was a great game i completed it and only died once at the part were the millitary has rifles on you behind sand bags i couldnt move to kill them for some reason.

buggy, but decent as a shoot & loot game. not quite a survival game or defense game, but a nice addition to the series. a word of advice: get luck to at least 10 as soon as possible, i found a sharpened machete in the third house doing that.
