Good concept, but could use some variety. Different types of weapons with different strengths and weaknesses(ie more range for less damage), different ships, and special abilities would take this from a mediocre game to a great one.

Gave it a second chance, I finally lowered my rating.
Have a look at Robokill and see what "move and shoot" gameplay is.
It's a shame, since the game seems to be technically good... but a game is about gameplay.

Not being able to choose target by myself is definately lame.
Basic enemies aren't worth my shots (they just fly across the screen) but keep attracting my gunner's attention.
Stronger enemies keep shooting at me and I still can't shoot back at them when they'd give me more cash to upgrade if I could, in addition to the increase of self safety.
Add that my gunner don't seem to anticipate enemy moves, that forbids me to hit fast enemies from a distance.
I'm not eager to play to the very first boss with this kind of gameplay.

Gameplay is nice, graphics keep the fun going, upgrades are balanced. Needs to fix some bugs. I would prefer if your progress was saved in stages so you wouldn't need to play it form the beginning of the stage every time you die. Idea: a "focus" configuration that auto locks on closest target then keep it targeted until it dies. If you press a certain key (like space), your fighter would focus on the closest target again and keep it aimed. Another key could turn this "focus" feature on/off during the game.

Two suggestions. 1. Besides restoring more HP at each level, repair units should also repair more frequently when upgraded. 2. Add a checkpoint after each boss battle.

Gunner: Captain! We should shoot at the with the guns shooting at us.
Captain: NO! keep shooting at that stationary mines because it is closer.

If you want easy money.
Keep alive one of those box monster ( the one that doesn't move and give a lot of money). When the boss gauge is filled up other enemies will stop spawning but those box ship will continue to appear. Just make sure to always keep one alive to prevent the boss from appearing

wasd plus mouse would have been a much better control scheme. The targeting mechanic was frustrating at times when switching between enemies.

This game had a lot of potential, but it's just too buggy. I feel like the developer didn't even play it after he finished it. The hit detection sometimes doesn't work when I shoot enemies, even with a fully upgraded ship I take a lot of damage when they run into me or shoot me on the beginning levels, the last boss was incredibly easy, there's no ending because it just freezes and says "SECTOR CLEAR" over and over, even with a fully upgraded weapon it takes forever to kill some enemies and mines. This game just needs more work. Too bad, because it seemed pretty promising.

Good start, but need improvement :) Btw for those who love that kind of games and didn't play it already, you will love Frantic Frigates ;)

The mute music button doesn't appear to be working. Just the mute sound one does. Also we should replace these with some ships with sails, and call it like something about pirates.... oh wait.

I found the game to be short and also quite buggy. More often than not the bullets would disappear before hitting anything. I also found the way the aim system worked very annoying.

Another Bug: When you buy something in the shop and double click the buy button it will decrease your money ex: you have $1000 and you buy a $500 item and click 'buy' twice you will lose $1000 not $500

I would LOVE to lock on enemy i want to kill instead of shooting everything BUT the guy i want to kill whenever something gets closer. Also once u spend 56000$(which is NOT much considering that money conserves through playthroughs) the money is useless. And the bosses are FAR too esy, once u're fast enough(and close to imposible if u're not, another problem)
