Thank god for all of you lot. I play this game about once a year but this is the first time I've ever totally committed to the Hellstone path. I felt like I was wasting my time. But the fact that you have all also wasted hours on this makes me feel wayyyyy better.

One shouldn't start with a pick, but with a knife that always (no matter how high the active / passive bonus) does 1 damage on poo and always zero on anything else (hope you get the reference) and you'd need at least 1 blacksmith upgrade to unlock pick crafting. Without that, he'd only craft another knife (with random quality).

@arus51 quality just means how lucky/powerful the pickaxe is the more base power the higher quality i used 5 gems and the lower the base power I saw that the lower the quality was so its just a reminder really for how lucky your blacksmith got when making it at his level hope i helped

"Q is its relative quality -- it doesn't affect anything but the higher that number, the luckier you were to craft it." So, does that mean the average quality upgrade is useless?

Also, your idle "damage" is probably below the rock's defense, therefore giving you 0 money per second. Go down in rock level.

Oh, and aren't the rocks we're mining gems in themselves? Clearly, if there's an infinite amount of them, we can just pick up a few, and give them to the blacksmith.
