I won the game victory in hard and extreme difficulty by vaccination cause eradiction is harder due to infecting new states.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
In Government transparency the game is easier to play in open than the closed one due to the fact there is faster vaccine research, cheaper medical masks and less panic produced etc compared to the closed one more panic produced and slower vaccine research etc

I HAD ONE STATE LEFT WITH LESS THAN 500 PEOPLE INFECTED AND SUDDENLY A RANDOM OUTBREAK HAPPENED ACROSS THE MAP AND I LOST

I had 69% of the population vaccinated after the 40-day limit. Damn this game for not letting us spend more money than we have. D:

Fun, now I've got no operations going and it's still drawing my money each day. I start negative and finish even moreso. Very frustrating game, can't believe this got badges.

I wish there were a way to see the entire country at once. I'm not sure why the zoom button only goes out to about 1/3rd of the states. The movement controls for the map are very very clunky as well.

@john454 and anyone else, recurring operations, especially immumizing your people are operations that last mutiple days, and as for the costs, that'd be ~6000 - 9000 dollars per day, that's why the money keeps draining, as you're immumizing your people, you will approximately immumize half of the country's healthy people per day, hope that helps ;)

Cant you have a "Kill infected"? That is expensive like 500 per people?
Hates to lose by a couple off peeps that wont die.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the 40 days limit is bullshit, also some states will caost 5000 a day on injections and theres only 1 person healthy who doesnt even get it

Gah extreme measures...yeah right... i had less than 800 infected by turn 14 (hard, and of course closed) and plenty of income...those last few dont die... if your measures are so extreme, why dont you just kill the bastards?
Even more annoyingly, it claims it is IMPOSSIBLE to spread to any other states when in use... yeah right... spread 3 times while i was using it.... dont get me wrong im not dissing the game, but c'mon! Extreme measures= disappointing.

I started a game with open gov on hard, and I left it at some point, and it went to day 180, with80% immune pop. It's pretty buggy :(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
costs vs effectiveness too big of a difference, the player ends up being a spectator to the game, too much depends on luck to be enjoyable, feel more like I'm being forced to watch whats happening as opposed to being able to affect the outcome, good game for those that preferred to be read to, those that want to actually be able to have some semblance of control and want their games to be enjoyable, avoid this game, plays like a 'choose-your-own-adventure' where every ending results in you dying, interesting premise, but total failure on execution

WTF tried it again and within 10sec of starting game every state was infected and I lost @ 1 min into game by everyone being dead.
revising to 1/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Game is very wacked, rioting in a state where everyone is dead
Events firing off so fast even on easy that there is not the slightest chance to react.
2/5

Thought it would be worth mentioning: In the game guide that you reach through the game options, it says both types of news reports have flower symbols.
