Anything you can introduce, you should support. If it doesn't appear there, you should usually oppose it, though there are a couple exceptions. Which bills each party supports are based on the IRL policies of their respective parties (with some thematically satirical alterations for the socialist party and green party)

Have you considered adding an achievement page, that will collect achievements through all your accounts and that is also private?
As-implemented, achievements are only tracked per-character. It's not really a bad idea, but I don't think any current achievements are difficult enough to warrant it.

Im a pretty new player to this game, but, its brilliant, first of its kind, the original. Where did you get the idea fr a political MMO?
Nowhere in particular. I really didn't think the game was going to go anywhere and I created it as more of a joke and a test for integrating with the Facebook API than anything. As I started working on it, I realized I could actually make it into something interesting. I did get the idea of randomly-generated text resulting from playing abilities from a different game, though, I can't remember what it was called. It was a web game where you played as a hacker, and you'd go into "chat rooms" and BBSes and stuff and play hacking abilities that would generate (mostly nonsense) text. The foundation of Clout was making a system of that sort which generated text that wasn't nonsense. The game has grown significantly in complexity and its parallels with reality since then.
Thanks for the feedback and support! I never really expected the game to get this big, so a lot of the challenge of that Kongregate ad was dealing with the effects of a large flood of players. Once I get it all hammered out and up to V1.0, I'll start doing some more advertising with the money people have put into the game.
stress can go negative. There's no benefit to this beyond being at 0%, but it will regenerate a bit into the negatives if you don't play for a while. This is sort of a "rest bonus" for less active players (of which there are many).

Is it possible if the defense funding goes down far enough that it is possible to get conquered by militant nations? Or can we conquer other nations with a strong enough military? Could that be a way to lose/win?

How do I unpoison a bill? Some son of a gun poisoned my bill, and I am reluctant to act on it now. I will poison all the bills once I get that ability
Conference committee can remove poison pills. Oversight committee can prevent them. Also, I wouldn't advise poisoning everything as it makes everyone hate you.
Like... at all? Do you ever see a loading bar? If all you see is a grey box and never see a loading bar or the kongregate ad, reload the whole page. That's some kind of error with Kongregate I think. I get it occasionally.
Not exactly a bug. Just not something that will have a purpose until I implement running for re-election (a ways off. Making another game that lets you run for office.)
This is a pretty long answer. There's a more detailed on at the bottom of the first help page. Binary bills are bills that cannot be passed repeatedly because they represent a major either/or change to the nation. As such, you can also only introduce one "side" of the bill at a time (depending on which "side" is currently in effect, viewable under world->binary bills). Acting on binary bills also gives you a chance at a relic, if the side you acted for ends up winning.

Thank you for your answers (you too, Crafty). Then if I act on someone else's bill and put on the high-yield outfit at the end, will the clout I'll be getting be the same regardless of the stat at the playing moment, or higher when I use high Speaking Ability/Intelligence during the act, since it will deal better influence? (In other words, does the amount of clout payed out depend on the total influence exerted or just the number of time acted?)
CHA/ATT only affect Clout gain from your own bills passing. Clout gained from acting on other players' bills is based on the amount you affect the bill (meaning INT/SPK are the only important stats there).

@VinersDraftsman The items you have on when you play an ability are the ones that apply the bonus. Only when the bill gets passed is the clout calculated off of how you contributed to the bill + Cha + Att. So your idea of swapping items when acting works only at the end to give yourself more Clout.
It should have happened already, but I postponed it due to technical difficulties. I added a news post, but it seems that Kong is having technical difficulties of their own and my news updates aren't saving.

One more question, does the stats influencing the amount of clout I get take effect when I introduce the the bill, or when I act on a bill, or when the bill gets passed? I'm curious if swapping items when acting on a bill is a valid method. If stats are affected at the point of acting then putting on power items would be speeding up for the cost of the harvest, instead of being a smart 'tetris move'.
You can chance clothes at the end to gain more clout. This is intentional, and basically the equivalent of going to congress in one set of clothes and doing your press conference in another. Seems reasonable to me, so I left that in.

I don't know what's the problem but I've been trying on different items but Speaking Ability/Intelligence doesn't seem to effect my strength on bills. Does some abilities, such as Invoke Prior Military Service, are effected by traits, like Military Service, and not stats?
No. Speaking ability and intelligence are the primary stats for all ability plays. A couple points won't make a major noticeable difference... but also remember that stress decreases the strength of your ability plays negatively, so make sure that's not just counterbalancing your improved ability plays. To give you an idea of the effect speaking ability can have: an ability that isn't strong or weak does a base of 100. An ability that's strong does a base of 200. Many CT4 players routinely play abilities that do 300-350 thanks to their stats.

ok so I've got 31% stress and 31 energy but for some reason I can't vote for or against the a certain bill. Am I missing something?
Do you mean vote in a committee, or play abilities on a bill? Voting in committees has no restrictions, but you can only vote once/per. Playing abilities on bills can be restricted due to a filibuster, or if it's a bill from a brand-new user.

curious about the items, if I store an item that is CT3 in my off shore accounts can I wear it when CT1/CT2 in my next reincarnation or will it just sit in my inventory until I'm able to get back to CT3?
You can wear equipment at any clout tier. It's intended that losing your seat with stuff in your boxes is like a "New Game+" of sorts. Also, if you store clout it will be added to your lifetime clout once you create a new character. That's so you can't store a bunch of clout and have abilities you're not supposed to have at a lower tier.
Relics are unique items that you get a chance at earning whenever you play abilities on a binary bill. A maximum of one is awarded per bill, and your chance is based on how much you affect the bill. You get no chance if the side you were playing for didn't win. You cannot take a relic from someone, but if they lose their seat or die (as Littlefinger is about to), the relics they had go back to the pool from which they are awarded. This allows someone else to later obtain the same relic.

I am hoping to get a little clarification on our 4 main stats. What happens if your bonus from items drops your score to below 0? Does it effectively count as 0 and cannot go lower or does it count down below 0 and only show your stat as 0, if so does the negative count against you? For example if your Speaking Ability is 0 I would guess you have no added effect from Speaking Ability but if your Speaking Ability is -1 does it actually work as a +1 in the opposite favor?

when you pawn something is my favorite part its like a random event thing and one time i got like 2800 dollars and in another i got 200 so its pretty awesome.
Good one. None actually do currently, but I will be adding that functionality right after the bill filter in addition to the "Foreign Relations" section.

@2years Many, many things are scandalous. ****ing interns, autoerotic asphyxia, Drinking, smoking, doing anything on the black market, and anything under skullduggery will cause a scandal. I hope I helped. :D
Probably cigars/liquor, if you're not sure why it is. They can technically cause a scandal, but it's such a light scandal it's actually more useful to block people from discovering worse scandals, as each investigation can discover 1 scandal maximum.
Not all bills have a direct opposite, but there are bills that effectively counter it (and others) in a more general way. Pointedly decreasing the funding of only NPOs doesn't really seem like something that fits into anyone's ideology.

Constituents: I'm sorry, but we will not support you in your next election. You are going to be...UN-ELECTED. http://www.dramabutton.com/
Not currently. Happiness has been pegged past 100% for so long I hadn't had much of a chance to consider what negative effects it might have, but a global reduction in reelection chance sounds like a good idea. I won't do it this election cycle as springing that on people a couple days beforehand seems a bit rude.

I'm French and i don't understand every thing but what i get it that's very funny, just the description of the politics party are hilarious. I think just add a background and a few color would help the game to be more populare like a soviet propaganda placard for the left socialist, good luck.
Thanks for the feedback and support! I've noticed a lot of people from foreign countries play. I see a lot of connections from Australia, Iceland, Scandinavia, and South America in the server logs. However, I can't draw and am not much of an artist in general, which is the primary reason for the minimalistic visuals in the game. The secondary reason is to make the game have the appearance of connecting to a MUD through a telnet client. If you don't know what a MUD is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MUD

I looked in the store but I can't find xXxEXTENDERxXx TURBO EDITION anywhere. I saved up my $359,820,000 and I'm self-conscious about my little congressman. Wat do?
In recent news, congressperson Warhero was arrested on charges of corruption. Authorities are reportedly questioning how exactly he managed to get more than a quarter of a billion dollars spending only a scant few years in office. More details at 10.

The two on top of the Hall of Shame (Adolph Stalin and Dwayne Camacho) made my day! Great game, would really like to see how it grows! Liked on FB, 5/5 and favourited!
Your clout tier is based on your lifetime clout gained, not the amount you currently hold. There is no advantage to stockpiling clout, except to appear on the leaderboards (or to save up for something). Clout is best spent on abilities until you have a good enough selection to always have at least 1 strong on the bills you want to pass. Due to the synergy bonus, you want to play as many different strong abilities on a bill as you can (meaning it's best to have LOTS of abilities).
It looks like your movement is losing a bit of steam now that people have taken a look at the country's happiness rating. And we dropped below Canada. CANADA. Even their money is worth more now!
Everyone knows they do repairs to the congressional offices and foundation using old, discarded bills. They estimate the foundation is like 50% failed bills now.

So many goddamn Nigerian princes... And someone who wants to make my 'little politician' bigger. I think I need a new email address. Now.
Unfortunately, a new address will not help you avoid the spam. You are a public official after all. However, I have decreased the frequency of spam mails such that they're now less common than a message from Deep Throat.
I'm sorry that grandma's zombie computer is spamming you so much D: I'll add more varied messages (though really, you were already pretty unlucky to have seen 2 of the same).
Abilities cost clout, not cash (note the different symbol next to the numbers. Technically it's the symbol for the Costa Rican currency, but I stole it FOR FREEDOM GOD DAMNIT)
I can't reproduce this issue. Are you depositing at least 125,000? There's a javascript warning if you try to do that which should stop page submission, but if you've disabled javascript you will only get the server-side error.
That would be too ugly to be readable and would confuse the other visual indicators. It also wouldn't follow the interface design of having all links be white/red. It also wouldn't even be helpful information, as a person's party doesn't really matter when you're acting on their bill; only the bill affiliation does.
