Means you must've gotten to Clout Tier 2. It'll reappear if you have -10000 Constituent Support or worse. If you really want me to kill off your character I can do it manually.

@kelana remember that this is a fictional america, also the liberals do have a down-side: they spend way too much money which then digs us into large amounts of debt. right now there are a ton of librals and we are in a ton of debt, so it shows in-game as well.

The Libertarian, Green, Conservative, and Socialist parties all get negative descriptions. The Liberal party gets the only positive one. **** your bias. You can't even get past the FIRST SCREEN OF THE GAME without encountering your stupid bias.
So saying that they disregard economic effects to give money to special interests is a positive description? Sounds like the only bias showing here is yours.

@skoosh it only changes it slightly, but i'm assuming that you just joined. if you get a more clout and introduce bigger bills then it will affect more, this is to keep a huge wave of noobs coming in and destroying everything.

Very interesting game concept. Never heard of Clout before. If you could build Clout, The Lobby, etc up even more and integrate them seamlessly there's no telling the amount of emergent gameplay that could come of it or how this satire might actually take on a life of its own and raise interesting concepts and insights on politics in general. Already i've seen that these satirical politician players are building power bases, going after each other in groups, and acting like real politicians.

:( someone screwed me over on one of my bills, guess that's karma. but then again i did like seeing the typo: FISSION MAILED
You're probably mostly doing it to people who introduced a bill and then quit the game. There are automated protections against doing this to the first couple bills a person introduces, but they wear off after a few hours.

This game is beautiful. The main thing that I've learned (even if I'm only on day two) is that drugs are necessary. All the drugs. ALL THE DRUUUUUUUGS!!!!!!!! Maybe I'll be a politician now :D.

For some reason whenever on the clotiverse I go to the lobby page and click request invite and it dosent do anything.
You'll find that this doesn't stay a worry for long. The game gets a lot more complex as you progress and you end up with a lot more things to do. You can also use drugs if you want more energy, though you should read the help files to be aware of the drawbacks of doing so.

Is there a certain limit when the game just breaks on itself and declares a nation failure reset? Sorry for commenting again. I'm just curious.
There is no in-code point at which this occurs, but I've generally said that if the nation rank gets to the bottom few on the list then the country will get reset.
Seems all the newbies definitely altered the debt:gdp ratio quite a bit. It jumped from ~30trillion to ~50trillion in a day. You'll see people trying to correct that now.
It specifically refers to US politics. Since we're the only developed nation that doesn't find mixing religion and government to be completely preposterous for some reason (despite the founders of the country clearly stating that we should keep religion out of governance).

Anyone else play the national anthem in the background while playing this? I challenge you to and not grin, I sure can't

Im actually just seeing this. It says "character authentication failure please reload the game" when i try to introduce a bill.

The game goes black and i have to refresh when i try to introduce a bill. It could be my internet connection but I have a 3g wireless modem and it is pretty quick.

Ok you asked me to elaborate so i am. I committed suicide cause I didn't get the game and made a mistake....Now whenever I create my character it says in the top left corner hacking is bad mmmkay?
Because getting a binary bill to its max point value doesn't immediately pass it. Any % over 100 will automatically pass at the end of the duration unless it's brought back down below 100 before that.

For a person that isn't really into politics, I surprisingly like this game! Love the real-time aspect on it, and how our actions can really change what happens in the game. I'm more into dumb shooters, but this is a smart game that I adore. Good thing it came back after 2 years after release!

@Dev; is this game inspired by / has some elements of another text-based game called "Fallen London"? i'll be honest, i checked this game out solely on the basis of me knowing that Fallen London was a game i didn't quite dislike :p

Surprisingly, the elections of your presidents are followed almost religiously in France and surrounding countries (I wouldn't know about Eastern Europe but I am sure they are like us). I remember a local station asking two child actors what they fought of the Invasion of Iraq (as it was called here) back in 2002. No other warring country would get this privilege. Newspapers like to report any piece of info they can get - in fact, six months after Obama's second election, a national newspaper in Switzerland ran a story about Romney's leftover 5 million dollars from the campaign. Even in Europe people pick sides as if they were voting too! On a more general level, the French market is often Anglophobe (that is, adverse to the English language) but they enjoy video games as much as anyone else. Providing a game in their language is the ultimate compliment. Hm, this comment is getting extremely long! You know, I should make it into a blog post!
Translating the game is something that would take a good while and unfortunately I still need to finish like...4 other games that people are waiting on (1 is already mostly done at least!)

Really cool game, but I find it incredibly slow-paced! It takes more than half a day to restore your 100 energy points.
Welp in any case, just throwing this out there, but I'm instantly available if you'd like to introduce Clout to the French market. You'd be surprised how much Europe knows about US politics :P
Thanks for saying so! The game was originally designed to support casual play as well as more active play. Drugs let you play the game more actively, but also make you much more open to pvp interaction. I'm also definitely interested to hear what you have to say about the French market.
