Under rating threshold (show) "Have a feature/bug fix you’ve been waiting on for a long time and I said I’d get to? I probably forgot!" So did i =( BUT NEW SUGGESTIONS!! YEEEEY: -New Binary for green: Automobile Ban -Increase Electric Engine Subsidies -Decrease Electric Engine Subsidies

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

An automobile ban would be more like a win condition bill. That would completely destroy the country.

Under rating threshold (show) If foreign relations bills are unaligned, then how am I acting outside my party's lines and losing support?

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

Parties are still sometimes against the passage of certain unaligned bills. If you're unsure about how your party feels about a certain topic on foreign relations, google the official party platform of the party your character is in. That's where I usually draw the party positions from. Some parties are pretty ambivalent/nonspecific on foreign relations, whereas others have hardline views on tariffs and foreign intervention.

Ashkah

Under rating threshold (show) Foreign Relations bills currently don't show up as Unaligned bills in the bill filter.

Thanks for reporting that. I'll make note of it in the pre-1.0.0 changes list that I'm compiling.

Under rating threshold (show) "The rate of regular energy regen is 1 energy/8 real-time minutes for all characters"....you mean to say that it takes normal people 40 minutes to catch their breath before they can say a simple sentence? o.O

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from delosford

Taking the floor in Congress is a slightly more complicated procedure than just saying a sentence to yourself in your house. Do also keep in mind that if you're low on energy at all, it means you've been debating a rather lot already, which requires time to recover from as it would for any normal human being. Obviously nobody works 24/7 because you require rest after exerting yourself (or a whole lot of meth, I suppose).

Under rating threshold (show) First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the communists, and I did not speak out because I was not a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me, and there was nobody left to speak out for me. This quote from pastor Martin Niemöller demonstrates that fascism can creep up on us if we don't oppose bills like this one." Under rating threshold (show) Is there a problem with the clout bar cause I have earned at least 6000 clout and it says 4090

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from delosford

When you/somebody else passes your bill, only your net gain counts towards your lifetime clout. If this wasn't true, passing your own bills would be more than twice as good as doing anything else to advance your lifetime clout.

Under rating threshold (show) How does it work when Moses loses his speaker of the house? Does he immediately lose his seat or does he survive until next end-of-month?

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from delosford

The speaker election happens just before the general election, so if he is no longer speaker then he's subject to normal elections immediately as he loses that position.

Under rating threshold (show) binary idea: universal pre-k. Socialists and liberals would be for it. Conservatives, libertarians, and greens against.

(1)

I'm not sure people would feel very strongly about this one way or another. I try to pick binary bills that will get people to fight strongly for/against them.

Under rating threshold (show) Q, i don't know if it's because i'm a liberal, but i can't seem to access to some country in FR. Iran, Colombia,Cuba,Nicaragua and North Korea. Is there some reasons for this ? I find it odd i can't even get access to the states of our Relationship with them.

+ - !

You can't introduce any of those bills for a country whose relations are too low. You can view relations on the world page.

Under rating threshold (show) I'm not sure if this is intentional, but I just went outside my party lines by opposing increasing foreign aid to Israel. My party is Socialist. Unless of course it's outside every party's line, what with the powerful lobby they have.

Hm... That seems to have been in error. The socialist part of the US opposes foreign aid. I'll fix it.

Under rating threshold (show) america technically annexed all of their territories outside of the 13 original colonies including alaska, hawaii, guam, virgin islands, philipenes, and they also tried (and failed) to annex cuba, the dominican republic and probably some others I'm forgetting.

+ - !

(3)

Developer response from delosford

I assumed he had meant the more general term of annexation rather than the voluntary process of inclusion into the US. My point was mostly that the US doesn't go to war to annex land, so that won't be an option in-game.

Under rating threshold (show) If the game restarts, do I lose my custom item?

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from delosford

If you lose your character for any reason you will lose the items you have. Make sure to tag the item to a deposit box if you're wearing it, and store it in one if you're not. If you're having some kind of issues with your safe deposit boxes, let me know. Some people couldn't see them due to a bug, though I thought I got everyone.

Under rating threshold (show) What does this '[H]' next to my bill's progress bar mean?

Apr. 01, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) so, if the game resets we all lose everything? Because it might be nice to let the winning party keep their stuff (and I'm TOTALLY not asking because I'm a green party member).

(2)

Developer response from delosford

Aside from safe deposit boxes, that's probably what will happen, unless players strongly dissent.

Apr. 01, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) really appreciate the quick responses but I think you still clearly not understand my problem. I know where is the link and how should I use it. The only prolem is that I do not have the link right now, and do not have any access to it, because it is inside the game, but as I am not re-elected, I can not access any Clout stuff, because I am stuck at the choice screen with Retire/Lobbyist/Re-election, where the last is inactive. So I all know about what to do, but I do not have access to the link itself at the moment, and that is my problem. I hope this is clearly specifies my problem. And big thanks for the effort put in from your side, not only to the game but to all the user ideas/problems and so on.

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from delosford

I now understand what you're saying. I'm currently speaking with someone from Kongregate via email and it seems I can have him add people by kongregate username so they can access The Lobby normally. I'll have him do this with your username and send you a message when it's done.

ras1982

Apr. 01, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) Yeah I know where the link is, the problem is, that I can not access it, as I am showed the "You lost" screen with the three choices, when I clikck on the Lobbyist, I get back to the Kong main page.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from delosford

As the note with the link states, due to how kongregate works with unreleased games you have to log out, visit the link, then log in when prompted (or with the header if the prompt doesn't come up. I dunno why it doesn't sometimes). I'm trying to get a hold of someone at kong to change this so it's not so ridiculous.

balony67

Apr. 01, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) Realistily if you introduced a win condition bill wouldn't you lose ALOT of Voter support cause lets face it I wouldn't vote for a congressman who wanted to Legalize Homicide

+ - !

(3)

Developer response from delosford

The presumption is that your constituents secretly support that view. Obviously it's a bit of a joke. Though, do consider that congresspersons tend to be WAY more polarized and partisan than presidential and gubernatorial candidates.

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from delosford

I posted the link in a sticky in the general post. You have to log out of kongregate, follow the link, then log in. Also, be aware that the game isn't exactly playable yet. It's just an HTML realtime chat after you get done with character creation, but it'll start to be playable in the next couple days/weeks.

Mar. 31, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) @q, i mean that apparently party affilation has nothing to do with binaries being struck down, and it only happens to immoral bills or something, yet it got struck down.

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

What bills get challenged at all depends on the bill itself and the constitution. It's not generated, it's something I put in ahead of time. Any major bill that can be challenged will be challenged (as in real life). The supreme court decides on the case mostly based on their affiliation, but they aren't purely partisan and the AG can swing things quite a bit. Whether the AG chooses to intervene or not depends on the affiliation of the AG and the bill in question.

Under rating threshold (show) Will there be any way to protect yourself from assassinations/thugs in the future (i.e. hiring a bodyguard)?

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

You can already do this by passing the congressional security/martial law bills. While in effect, they offer protection of 1 and 3 levels, respectively, to everyone in the game. If you mean something on a personal level, nothing is currently implemented as I don't want cash to be too powerful. I may add something in the future, but it may also be scandalous (bribing the police or somesuch).

High happiness and low debt shouldn't get us that high with shitty other stats. Just thinking out loud.

GDP growth and population growth are not part of the formulas directly. Eventually they'll tank the nation if left negative for a number of weeks.
