To all the people arguing over the realism of this game as opposed to the story of Achilles- Achilles wasnt, er, real. You guys are complaining how unreal it is that he can jump high. Never thought to wonder if its impossible to be immortal everywhere except you heel. Also, its a game. Ben (DJStatika) can do whatever he wants with his game, and you can fix it if you want to program your own game.

Good fighting and displays but not really entertaining. I would have had a lot more fun if there were special combos or an RPG element (get so many kills to get new abilities, etc) , but it just felt like from level 1, that was all I was gonna see. Sorry.

Nice to see so many heated exchanges about this game.. At least it shows that DJ produced something worth arguing about again :o)

well you are right they cant but it takes the meaning of the game nevertheless.I have nothing against this game but some things are missing and i cant yet decide what.4-5/5

Just as a disclaimer, my comments are nothing personal, just a desire to see what this game can REALLY do. Obviously, I play it and like it, otherwise, I'd never have bothered to post.

Actually, to answer the author, my criticisms had nothing to do with lack of skill, but it was tiresome waiting around for a boss that never appears. Honestly, you CAN get away with using timed jump attacks to beat most of the enemies you face, including the bosses...(When they show up.) However, I'm assuming that since this game is classified in the action category that it is an action game and not a historical simulation. So, the author's argument that slow response times are more realistic has failed on two counts. First, yes, hoplite armor was extremely heavy since it was made of bronze, but it was also designed for freedom of movement in regards to the attack. After all, how are you going to hold in the phalanx if you're too slow? On top of it all, this is a game where you're Achilles, a trained since birth professional soldier who led a cadre of professional soldiers...so don't you think he'd be much quicker than his peers? Don't make excuses...make a better game.

Mangedrill, you are right, however they cannot give us unlimited lives, that would take the challenge out of the game.

Good way to kill some time but not one I'd play again. Also, Level 2 stage 3 glitched on me, it says I have one enemy left but he won't spawn.

k clearly you don't et the ideaof Hopltes wasn so that they could hpo 30ft aboe the ground and come down lightly without breaking their ankles

Well its not stupid because the legend says that he fought with a spear twice his size so its no problem for him to jump. But the only thing that is stupid is that he can die in the game, and by the legend prince Paris shot him in his heel and then and then only did he die

Lots of good and stupid stuff in this game. Good stuff is it takes the same thing to kill all guys, except bosses. Stupid thing is i can jump higher than myself. Mebbe lower the jump to max at waist high becuase w/ all that armor on, there's no way a person can get that high or would want to and then float down so slowly, demi-god or not. As for people complaining about enemies hit getting priority, it doesnt. But, the enemies hit does deal its damage when its begun, not when it lands. So, if i interrupt it, great, but im still taking the damage, not great. That doesnt happen every time, but it happens often enough. Last stupid thing is, if i kick to stun a guy and he gets stunned for 3 seconds, it shouldnt matter how many hits i get in he should be stunned for 3 seconds, not stunned until i poke him then he's unstunned. Getting hit again should increase the stun, not take him out of it. Thats RETARDED! kthnxbai.

"The controls are too close together. Some people have big hands"
I'm sorry, the fingers you have used to play are too fat. To obtain a special playing wand, please mash the keyboard now. You could try WASD and 4 & 5

Enemy attacks dont have priority, they dont get tougher, enemies armour doesnt increase. These are things I keep hearing from people who are obviously losing and not happy about it

Control response: The moves are done at a realistic speed, i know some games, the instant you have pressed the button, you have sliced. But that takes all the timing and skill out of it and makes it a button masher

Am I the only person that used the jump attack to beat everything? It's stupidly good against bosses (delay slightly, jump back then thrust). I guess it's too "tricky" to use for some people.
How do I go back to replay stages for more lives?
Oh, and the offscreen arrow thing is totally lame.

small little nitpick but when u move with the viking ship it moves faster and vis versa. shouldn't it be the other way around?

Like I've said in my previous comments and apparently, more than a few have agreed with me, somewhere within this concept is a very good game, once you get past the invisi-arrows, the bosses that don't always show up, the choppy animation and the lack of responsive controls. What we need here is an update and/or revision to the game itself. Perhaps a scaled leveling system, with the ability to earn new weapons and armor to do battle against the Trojans with. It leaves me torn to give this game a mediocre score because I really like the ideas behind it and love Greek military mythology. Unfortunately, the poor execution, poor control response times, (Which is an absolute must for ANY action game) hamper what this product could have been. Still...3 of 5.
