Very lame. Damage seems random, although the closer you get the less you do. If two or more enemies show up, it is impossible to hold them both back -- you WILL take damage. Lastly, when you are close to the enemy, i.e. inside them, you can't hurt them but they can hurt you? Lame.

No pause, no mute, iffy controls.
Mass archers, which are apparently generated randomly, are all but unkillable. It's essentially a death sentence if you run into two archers and a third anything else.

Fun for a while, would've been nice if the slashes you did were consistent based on what you were pressing, sometimes enemies would die with one hit and sometimes they'd take ages.
Also, the 2nd boss never showed up! I just kept walking for ages and he never came. Couldn't be bothered playing again for the badges.

Sorry, but this is so terribly shotty it hurts. Archers blow, I always have to waste my spear, and I get hit from nothing most times. Even though I intterupt the enemy before he has even lifted his weapon, it still registers as a hit on me. Though this only works for THEM, of course. And hell, if you accidently walk onto the enemy, you are basically screwed. They can attack all they want while you try to flounder away. Oh, and they always, ALWAYS win out in kicking. That's not difficulty, that's just LAME-OSITY.

Guide:
Throw spears at first enemy you see, the sword is far more powerful. You can kill enemies in 1 hit with the sword if you time your swing to land just before theirs. Don't use kicks to kill as they will not register in your score. Moving forward while swinging a sword increases its power. Blocking is only good vs arrows, you sword has better range then even spear guys, hit them with the tip. Die on the last boss (you should have 169 kills) to get the badge.

this game reminded me of age of war with it's limited units that just changed looks and hp/defence and power. it really isn't anything special other than the bosses. I forced myself to give it a 2/5 for the bosses

But it doesn't end there. If you happen to run into two enemies at a time, prepare to lose loads of health. The player cannot hit two enemies at the same time, yet they can both hit you consecutively, and even if you do kill one, they will sometimes still continue to attack.
I like how the decapitated guy still managed to kick me in the shin while an archer I couldn't see shoots me from off screen.

Seriously, was this game even tested before it was released?
A game based on a single powerful warrior should have controls and gameplay similar to that, not "kick swing kick swing" combat. Needs more depth to controls.
Not only is the move pool driveway puddle shallow, the enemies have all what you do and more. So it comes basically to a who can kick the other person first. Even when you kick first, if the opponent kicked at the same time, their attack takes precedence, leaving you stunned for longer, giving them a free attack.
Another horrible aspect, moves do inconsistent damage and attacks are also inconsistent. If I'm going to be playing this crapshoot of a game I want to see a head fly every time I kill.

I agree with Lapper, if there's two enemies coming at you, you have to take the hit for one, so it's kind of an unfair advantage against Achilles (you). And this game would've have a major improvement if you could actually pause the game. 3/5 For my two reasons I just gave.

Note that this badge is currently a little messed up; you need to die on the final boss if you wish to acquire it. It will be fixed soon to properly award upon defeating the final boss. But in the meantime, you must choose between the badge and glory!

would be nice if there was a bit more depth to the combat system. And perhaps a few more items/weapons. Add that to Achilles2 I suppose. 3/5

I dont like this game, not much difference, and not well build, I was lucky when I was through with the challenge, which is quite easy and will not come back

I found that tapping the direction that you are facing (right or left) and pressing the attack button (not the kick button) will make the spear be thrown.

I don't know why so many people are complaining about the game and saying it's so bad. Probably because they aren't very good at it ^_^;;
I enjoyed it thoroughly. There are a few bugs but what game doesn't on this site? And whoever doesn't know what the pause key needs to learn to be patient and read the directions.

ridiculously horrible game, how come sometimes you kill an enemy in a 1~2 hit basis and in some weird cases they need like 6~8 hits? and also, wtf is the problem with the gangbangers? all of a sudden 4 f'ing guys came, how the hell was i supposed to fight that

Stop complaining about the fact that you didnt get that badge after beating the game if you actually spent the time to read that you would understand that it is impossible to get the badge and beat the game at the same time...T_T

Well there seems to be a glitch where the boss actually doesn't turn up, I've been walking for about 10-15 minutes and no stage boss appearing.
