You get charges, enemy doesn't.
Human Alliance. Spam swordsmen until you get kings guards and longswordsmen.
When the enemy sends spearmen, you send longswordsmen or swordsmen.
swordsmen:2 swordmen/longswordsmen
all ranged: hit him when he's about to cross
axeman: longswordsmen+swordsmen
spearmaster:3 swordsmen/2 longswordsmen/kings guard+swordsmen
Mounted: 3 swordsmen/king's guard
let flailers, whirlers, trolls by.
A great combination is 2 swordsmen followed by a mage.
When the enemy isn't sending out any troops, send out longswordsmen. Spread your troops out in case of a whirler or flailer or troll.
Once you get a charge, spam swordsmen until they reach the middle of the 1/2 and 3/4 of the field. Then start sending spearmen out.
Do demons first. Then do the most difficult, and finish with the easiest.

I feel as if the timer sometimes cuts long-term plans short, also, I think that ALL of the units should be upgradeable, for instance, the undead unit with the flail, or the ogre.

The four army units you should only be using are: Swordsman, Archer, Halberdier, and King's Guard. You should be upgrading everything except Spear Training and Axe Training. The stats I was at when first facing the Demons were 1, 3, 2, 2, 1 going up to down in order neglecting spear and axe training. Now the only row you should be using is the middle row no matter how many times the enemy uses the others, ONLY the middle row. The order that you should use is 1 Swordsman, 1 King's Guard, 5 Halberdier, 1 Swordsman, 1 King's Guard, 4 Archers, and keep repeating that. And when you get a charge just wait and use it on your King's Guard. Just keep doing that process untill you win and then...you will win =D
Hope this Guide helped

Going somewhat with Lawlie, I believe that the best tactics to employ involves pure Undead halberdiers in a butterknife formation. However, one must keep in mind that foot halberdiers are extremely vulnerable to mages, axe-throwers, and other ranged units. Against these, I suggest employing mounted halberdiers, as they are fast but still benefit from halberdier upgrades.

I use the "Butter Knife" effect with spear men, then when I start winning, I change it to special unit (Works best with Demons, Wood Elves or Undead)

oh and btw even tho undead have -3 marksmanship stilll use the bowman because u will need them to take down the mages and other ranged units.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
butter knife strategy works if u use undead then get haldbearers thtey are +3 its working for me
oh and by the kill the deamons and human alliance first

Tip: Pick Human Alliance.
* Upgrade ONLY Swordsmanship, Marksmanship, Halbred, and Armour
* Buy Only these Units: Kings Guard, Mounted Halbred,

i used something similar to the butter knife strategy a long time ago. keep charging hordes of units(usually swords men, spear men, or halberd) or a combination. one of the best I'd say is put some rangers then start making ur horde of units in one line. that way ur melees up front wil be aided with the rangers.

i beat entire game with only sending exactly correct amount of units to conquer countries. dont remember number becuz it was a few months ago, but i did it all with men o west swordies
this game is 5/5 stars. even if u get bored, come back a few months later and it will be like new

The butter knife strategy works even better if you use a starting unit (sword, spear, bow) in one line and for the charge send a charge of special units (giant troll, kings guard, whirler, etc). This way you take maximum advantage of the charge while still having a large line of weaker troops.

Demons aren't bad! Demons are awesome...unless your versing them. then they suck because of their relentless attack and their evilness.

This game is AWESOME!!! I love defeating and conquering things! The thing that sucks is your score isn't recorded if you aren't a membger and I've defeated this game with every race but two on this site: The Orcs of the South and the Wood Elves... or was it the Night Elves? Well it was one of those two. But I'm almost finished conquering with those ones too. And I hadn't joined until not too long ago but I've been playing for a long time.

hey guys, don't use the demons, they epically fail once you get half way through the map, i have only a few more ppl left, and i can't do anything to beat these people, once again, don't use the demons!

Does anyone know what kind of attack the Whirler uses? I'm thinking it's halberd, but it may be spears. I'm not sure what to upgrade. However, the Whirler can handle hordes of enemies without an attack upgrade; defense works wonders on it.

Mountian Trolls, send in spearman on one line till they get the hint and attack that line then get a mountain troll, back it up with spearmen and send in a ton of scouts. Wins very quickly

i find that 1 of the best units isd the king's guard, just 1 can hold back several poweful enemies like longswords, the worst thing you can do with it is send more than what you need down 1 lane weekening your other lanes, a charge practically sends them back to the drawing bored.

this game is awesome, and the butterknife strategy really works, no matter how weak ur spearmen are, every unit at any amount has a limit to the amount of guys they can take before dying
so you'll win eventually after upgrading a bit.

THE DOUBLE BUTTERKNIFE THEORY:
use halberdier or other unit that will bunch up nicely and switch between two lanes alternatevly this is very effective.
