O ya... and to those people who say: too hard to aim.. wth! it makes the game so much more fun...
P.S. I'm a mapmaker in SC and Blizzard made it uber extra easier and it still takes month (or weeks) to make a simple game... think how long it took dz... probably broke his back to put all this togehter!!!... and so what if the attacks aren't the same.. its still fun

So, one cannot have 2 defilers (for the battlecruiser wave), and defiler is only able to shoot once at it before the battlecruiser shoots. Spells #1 and #3 are not sufficient to do the remainder of the damage, infested marines can't touch it and other towers are out of range. any ideas? Wave 15 on hard. Note to creator: queen targeting is a pain in the ass.

dz2001... I won't push the point since I see you admitted the code is "barely working" but I do actually know a bit about optimizing flash. Flash can (of course), and should be optimized. In my comment I only compared your game to itself, not any other game.
Please don't feel the need to be defensive. I say again that you are a talented game designer. I was recommending that you pursue this to improve your games, but I see from your post that you already have been doing that. Cool, I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

I think the game runs great on any quality and it is fun. The Nuke part of lvl 5 or so is a pain. I haven't been able to get the spell off in time to see the bad dude before the nuke comes.

Every damn time I have to load, my save games vanish... PS: Every game should have PAUSE, RESTART (at the very minimun restart lvl when you die), and CANCEL. Beeing a flash game grants the latter by closing the window. But come on! how hard is it to let you continue on the same level despite having to save the game, or saving it automatically.

2Sesspool Lol. This game can not be optimized. I made it with almost no skills in action script, its a miracle it is even working =) Yeah, If I made it now, with my current skills It would run 30-40% faster. That is not the point, I just really hate when people post idiotic things like compaiting it to real starcraft or any other games. Btw normal frame rate for this game is ~17, if you are below 10 then your comp is old period

Oh, and making it so that only one unit can take out a specific enemy... and then that one unit has to be in one specific location . . . that's poor game design. Including this info (as I was told) in the intro doesn't make it good game design btw... esp when the unit cost is high and theirs no return on destroying a building that is in the "wrong" place.

Well... it's got a decent learning curve and fairly cool mechanics... obviously it's a resource hog, I plan on DL'ing it at home - I have neither the time nor the pc resources at work. Problems I had:
Targeting with spells is a bit touchy, esp with some lag issues... no pay-back for sacking buildings hurts... seemed to glitch at start of levels twice - no units then swarmed... overall fun game, 4/5

dz2001: you speak of it as though you actually understand when it is un-arguable that all code can be optimized whether it's DX code OGL code or other.
This game needs more optimizing because it runs poorly on fast systems (lots of RAM and fast CPU) not because I have a big video card.

2myrealnameisjohn I really hate people who talk about thing they don't understand as if they did. Like comparing flash games to real games. They work differently, totally differently. Do you even know what directdraw or direct3d is? Or that flash doesn't use anything like that.

The author of this game has the potential to be a great game designer, I think. So this post is intended to be constructive, taken in light of the above statement.
A course on optimization is an absolute must. My computer isn't elite, but it runs half-life: episode two on medium spec at ~42fps. This game, on low quality: 12 fps. This is not a question of system resources, but programming flaws and lack of optimization.
The author of this game is talented enough for it to be worth taking a course in this area, and learning to make the game's performance degrade gracefully. This game could look twice as good while running 10x as fast.
That aside, I like the game design now. The learning curve is much friendlier to a first time player, while still offering plenty of difficulty to stay challenging even in casual mode. The changes are such a holistic improvement I felt like we moved from alpha to 1.0 , so I will give this version the most improved award and change my rating to 4/5.

What's the point of making a game that I can essentially go install and play on my PC? I was kind of expecting a Tower Defense style game ala Starcraft, as the genre lends itself well to RTS's.

This is just about identical to Momentum Missile Mayhem by the same author. Unfortunately, the creator makes excellent UI's, but terrible games.
The complexity of everything is just way overboard for something that should be pickup and play. At least I only need to remember 9 hotkeys and the abilities actually make sense this time around.
That's what killed Missile Mayhem for me was that I had to remember 10+ hotkeys strewn around the keyboard and several of the abilities were ambiguous or were so confusing to use that there's no reason to even have them in the game.
Slick looking game, now if only there was something worth sticking around for under the hood.

you guys are fu**ing idiots this game is very good the base idea is good the graphics are good and the challenge is good if you can't load go out and buy a up to date computer the graphics on this game are ah-mazing

I don't think Blizzard would care if a flash game was made out of their several-year old game... I don't have time to play it right now but I might later. And I can't even imagine how hard it was to make this... you must have AWESOME flash skills!
