In a nutshell, you pick what you want to build, sometimes that will gives you resources or defense. And in around every 3 rounds, you will be attacked. Every attack will be worst than the previous one. However, over-defending you will not help, troops sometimes will not attack at once but they are queue and even if you have a clear superiority, you could lose a precious troop. Finally, your army will be worn out and you will be defend yourself against a big army.

I loved the game, but maybe the mainly problem is the interface. FOr example, it will be awsome if the "year dashboard" were divided in sections: Archery, Knights, buildings, etc.

The first time I played this game I accidentally clicked the one race that has no wood building.
*shudders* it was awful.

I have seen a lot of crying and whining about how the troops are deployed. I personally like the total random aspect of the battle. Some games are intended for combat strategy this is more empire strategy. In one game your strat will win your victory in another you'll die within 10 years. Such is life. Beautiful concept and amazing game 5/5

I'd echo the positives, but you could do with some slicker improvement in design and usability. Right now I'm having trouble clicking buttons (even after discovering I'm supposed to double click). Perhaps the touch area is the text itself, not the background.

Great game. Did a few rounds on normal, and it seems hut spamming with russia is the way to go. As for religion, the miner branch was great with its damage reduction, and its scroll is basically "skip 1 battle for free", working wonders in later levels. As for the higher tier units, I think grabbing a few minotaurs are the most cost effecient way. (packs a punch and usually survives battles) Just one thing, always have an abundance of swordsmen. around 30~40 near endgame sounds good.

Needs a button to "de-call" militiamen and cancel Scroll usage. Especially the scrolls since most of them can only be obtained once, one accidental click means bye bye scrolls :c

@Torm There's strategy involved, you work your way up with peasants and swordsman to defend them, steadily increasing income. As far as the fights go it simulates the fights. To increase odds i would recommend trying new strategies such as using zombie chickens to lure away hits.

Biggest pile of shite I have ever played resources so limited that 90% of the buildings are useless as you can not get through the first few years. AI of the fights often manages to kill twice the units on your side than on theirs as your units line up in a row. Really just don't bother.

Russians underpowered? I've found that the higher the gold gain, the easier the time I have. As far as I've seen, Russians have the highest gold gain out of them all. The archers and druids seem to be exceedingly weak in my opinion, so I don't think the Russians are losing much from that trade. Mongols and Russians are the only two races that I've managed to make it to year 51.

I found the game interesting to level up my city and get better units however, the end of the game at year 50 was unsatisfying.

Too difficult dude. I started off on hard and couldn't survive the first day with two swordsmen. Barely survived normal 10 rounds, and easy was okay then stabs you in the groin and leaves you to bleed out. 10 out of 5!

Some implements: show counter next to unit to show max count like 4(8), with 4 being current, and 8 being max. Also show previous game stats such as race would be nice.

The Russians are crazy underpowered. They're cut out of an entire section of units in exchange for a mediocre upgrade to a mediocre building.

Pathing blows. I'm sick of how my units always moves to the right and left instead of forward and the enemy ALWAYS surrounds my units. Why are the enemies smarting than ours?

For this game to achieve perfection, you need to work just a few things: 1. the battle. Come on, it is too random! There shouwld be a way of choosing positions or attac/defence stance; or anything like that... 2. the races must be balanced. spanish are u-se-less and russian/mongols/english are way above the others; and, finally, 3. wood-stuff is too overpriced; come on, 600 wood for a unicorn (300+300) and 1550 wood for 2? they are not THAT good!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the attacks need to increase consistently, at least in some way to make it so that you don't have to do one specific build order in order to survive

How do you get anywhere on hard mode? Year 1, train 2 peasants. Get attacked by 3 militia men, defend with 3 militia men, LOSE. Mine even had kung fu but it looked like they were weaker..

What is the point on creating a better starter strategy if the game adapts to it and sends stronger troops than the previous play? It is unpredictable.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
At least implement the ability to set the starting battle formation. All my paladins cluster together and my swordsmen don't protect my archers, who are always off to one side. Frustrating to lose archers due to bad formation.

I notice that when the enemy moves adjacent to two of my troops I attack first but only with one unit, however when I move adjacent they attack first but I attack with both units

I like this game because the very hard mode is actually very hard. 4/5 some more options / features would be great :)
