You dont need last level to get badge, but if you still want to play it, here is a little hint. Dont rush at begining of round. It will kill you here, as your soldiers will try to attack 2 players at once. Dont try to cut enemyes away from you by destroying ground, it wont work. Dont try to attack only one person. Just keep developing and making houses until yellow attacks you with all his forces. At that point switch to "Search for battle". If you developed good, you shall be able to throw lighting each few seconds, use it. Usually green will be the hardest enemy, try to make it so that green attacks red or yellow first.

How exactly are you supposed to be able to advance past your opponent's point of growth? I try and try to build more settlements but they ALWAYS have more.

Terraforming costs only 2 Mana per click, independent of the number of affected pyramid levels which makes it very cheap to build huge hills. The leader an heroes seem to have lost much of its purpose, since you can order your people to look for enemies over the whole world instead of just 2 Squares next to them. Unfortunately the game is far too easy, so it's just 4/5 from me.

The terraforming can be a bit awkward and we are beyond the days of the Amiga, so perhaps something easier to control?
There's been a couple of games where you could click on an existing height of land and then click-drag the mouse to push other land to the same height.

The graphics are very hard to see and read if you are near sighted...... but apart from having to have someone point where i need to click. this is a fairly good game :)

The catholic charizard approves of following technique:
Build a mountain for your own tribe and then collect mana until you have enough to erase all the sinners with tidal waves.

It would be really awesome if you can make this game multi-player and make it downloadable so me and my friends can play it at Lan parties.

How to win easy after level 20: Build your camp on a hill of height 2, keep building until you have enough Mana for the Water Storm effect which floods the island removing everything that has height 1, watch your enemies drown then spam whirpools to finish them off.

Moving around the map with WASD is awkward since when you move left, you actually move up-left, etc. Would be nice to be able to rotate this or just make it so left is actually left.

Great game, reminds of good old days when graphics wasn't top priority. It would be great if you could manually change settings in skirmish mode or introduce (sequel!) some difficulty levels.

Thanks for the downloadable code so i dont have to play it over and over again when i wipe my cookies. Why dont more games think of that?
also, lvl 30 is by far the hardest. How does the other colors build so quickly.
Also, zooming out would be a fantastic feature.

The game didn't seem to really hit its stride terms of difficulty until about level 19, and those last ten levels jump pretty fiercely, too. Spamming flat land helps, but the AI becomes more aggressive, setting up ambushes and using the totems strategically.
If all you do up to that point is terraform and charge, it might catch you by surprise. In the end the game isn't too difficult...if you learn to use your other totems correctly.

Enough with the "retro" graphics trend already! It came, we old farts swooned over the nostalgia, it was cool. But it's getting old now that every third game uses it.

Is there more to this game than building huge flat continents and then ordering your troops to attack? Level 10 already and nothing more happens.

I loved populus but this time around the land building felt more cumbersome. The artistic blur around the edges distracted as well
You can turn off the blur in the options menu or in the pause menu :D
Just a note about the cursor, unfortunately it's because I'm unable to control the physical mouse location, forcing it to move with the land point :( In the console versions of populous that many people remember this had a 'soft' mouse cursor which would move. Its a steep learning curve but once you get your head around it hopefully you will be raising and lowering like a king!
I've hunted down an original version of Populous 2 for PC and it actually had exactly the same issues :D

Fun game, but there are some exploits. You can kill enemy cities by using terraform to remove the ground under them. Also, the last few levels can be cleared easily by building your cities one level higher and then casting Water Storm until everyone else drowns.

This is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more fun than Populous. Also much more coherent! I tried playing Populous several times when I was younger on the Genesis I inherited from my brother and it was so incomprehensible to me what with the complete lack of instruction and clear feedback.

Never mind about the glare. You can switch the graphics mode in the options. I'm glad I tried it; it runs more smoothly and is easier to see.

The one gripe I have about this game is that I can't chat 90% of the time I'm playing it. Otherwise... 5/5, this game is amazing.
