It's interesting but the cost of spells is too high to make them really worth using much. By the time you can afford to use a Hero, you've been able to win the game for several minutes just by clicking "Look for fight".

I would absolutely love this game if not for that retardedly hard level 19. What the hell? Why am I suddently showered with dozens of consecutive swamps and thunder storms in the first minute of the game? How am I supposed to pass that? And isn't the AI using mana too? How is it managing to cast such high-cost spells like this? This is really a shame because the rest of the game is 5/5 material.

Great game! I loved Populous. Is the name of the last level a little hint?^^
Dont change the amount of tiles you can rise or sink. There are some quick ways to make a nice, big isle with the current setting.
And whirlpool is overpowered. If you are lucky enough, you can kill an enemy in the first minute. Maybe increase the costs or decrease the time of one whirlpool.
Is it possible to attack a specific color? It would be helpful for some levels.
Maybe you could add an option with an hotkey, that every tile gets an number for his elevation. Sometimes it's difficult to see, if one tile is higher or lower.
The problem with the
I hope we will see more games. :)

I was having a blast until the map 19. I've spent a few hours now and this crap is impossible. I've tried everything, and the AI is just stupid.

wanted to rate it 4/5 because of the hard navigation/time stopps during movemeent on card. then I saw what amageddon did. 5/5 lol^^

I was really enjoying this at first but the AI is killing me. Why do my men insist on try to cross half the map to a separate continent to start a fight when there's an enemy settlement half the distance. Mana generation is slow enough without having to waste a load on a waypoint because of poor AI.

Fun game, but the controls and movement system hold it back. There needs to be a way to order your troops to attack a specific target, i.e. waypoint where troops engage enemies on the way.

I really like the "replay" at the end that shows you all the terraforming in super speed :) took me a while to realize it was even there. Very cool though. You should make it more apparent!

The game is great, gives a lot of fun and it's cool to return to Poppulous-like gameplay, especially that my Populous: the Beginning doesn't loke newer OS's. I have found some bugs, though.
The first is that points on the minmap are all flickery, therefore it is hard to read anything from the map. It is a minor problem though, because one can manage to play without it.
The second issue is a major one. As I noticed a player cannot terraform ties adjacent to enemy buildings so that they won't be changed in any way. At least when it comes to lowering terrain, because smoothing the ground works on both the player's buildings and an enemy's. The problem is that when an enemy is located on a very high ground a player can lower his land from the shore and an enemy's land will sink into the ocean, with buildings or without them. It makes levels like 'Tip Top Tips' very easy. Let me know if that is really an issue or just a feature ;)

Suggestion: make a flatten terrain tool that flattens all terrain in rectangle selected with drag and drop mechanics. Maybe add +/- buttons to change level height. Then game will become much more enjoyable ^_^' Something like in OpenTTD.

amazing reminds me of from dust and aztec god game and like everyone is saying this populous game ive never played it id like to though and it would be awesome if their was a way to just play and teraform the land thatd be cool its realy a great game cant wait for updates or even a second game loved it

Two things. First, "you are" is abbreviated as "you're", not "your". Second, it would be so much more convenient if I didn't have to click on every tile to alter it, but could keep the mouse button pressed and alter several tiles at once.
Thanks, typo noted and will be sorted soon :D Click drag terraform would be good, looking into a touch version at moment with new UI etc and that would lend it's self well to those devices.
:D Yep it gets a lot more challenging. A few people have got stuck at 19 but generally just keep your population moving around (using way point totem) and expanding. Remember you only need to collect the totem on this level.

It seems that you create leaders by setting your action to "gather at waypoint" which makes leaders spawn from top tier buildings.

I wish there were more to the game. I make dudes to go conquer and collect these totems, but there's never a place to use the powers gained. I could play around with them, sure, but they either do mostly the same thing or don't do much of anything, and there's no *need* to use them.

Once you figure out that terraforming is the only spell you need to win the game it gets rather easy. granted Water Storm made it much easier every level gets beat by building to highest level and spamming waterstorm at the enemies who at most can survive 3 casts.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Terraform seems to cost too little and other spells seem to cost too much. literally can win almost every game just by terraforming land to make a million palaces... (you gotta raise its cost AND lower other spell costs, otherwise the player wont be able to do anything/can easily win).

Level 19 is ridiculous. If I try to build out where I am, I get rushed by both armies and earth heroes. If I try to run away and build somewhere else, I get bombarded with firestorms and volcanoes.

This game is absolutely awesome, an original rts as far as I know, that keeps you on your toes. I don't mind the graphics just as long as I can tell one object from another, and if someone would please help me, how do I get a leader? I keep trying but they don't seem to pop up until the last second. Well, here's my two cents, 5/5 awesome game.
