What is this sorcery? This is a great game. And it's newly released on Kongregate? Who would've thought that's actually possible? 5/5 from me.

PJBM
No, but it is possible to get rid of them by placing them in a location where a rival is likely to get rid of them, or even build more until you go bankrupt. I would be careful of that strategy however; as it leaves you vulnerable to attack.

I wish this had the Kong API so it could get badges. "Beat 5 hard levels on Hard mode" (Focaccia, Valor, End Times, Borrowed Time, and Jail Break were probably the ones I thought were the hardest) could be a hard badge while "complete the tutorial levels" could be an easy badge and "complete 50 levels" could be a medium badge.

@Dirkaeth: I recommend including the level name ("Foccacia" in this case) rather than just the number, because the number can change whenever new levels are added.

Took like 3 days of almost non-stop Konkr, but I hard-moded every level with no guides. Some were just dumb luck where weaker allies devastated a much harder opponent, but most of them were quite a challenge. Damn good game.

I REALLY love this game. I had a couple of ideas, and although I'm well aware it's very difficult to tweak the (rules of) the game at this point, I wanted to share it just for fun:
= You could propose to another enemy a temporary ceasefire. During the (negotiable) duration, both cannot attack each other.
= You could send gold to a remote settlement, for a fee: each tile along the way costs 1 gold.
= Sorry, but you only get a silver cup if you haven't used any "undos" during that match. Otherwise it's bronze. On Hard you can use undos and still get a gold cup tho :-)
= Skins! The current medieval theme is great, but what about an option to switch to Wild West (houses are ranches, ranks are farmer, cowboy, sheriff, marshal; enemies could be Indians, but I think Native Americans are cool and wouldn't like to offend anyone). Then, why not, a Space theme (having space stations for houses, and aliens for enemies, don't mind offending those).

This game and others like it are why I keep coming back to kongregate. Not the genre, but the quality and thoughtfulness of who made it. Thank you for this treasure among so many low-effort low-quality games.

saw this randomly in the Strategy category and gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to see it's inspired by Slay, which was a very fun game back when I played it

This game is insane adictive. Please continue to working into it, ITS AMAZING, new fresh things to play in this old website, luv

There seems to be three types of advantage in this game, offensive Unit advantage (amount and power of units in play) Sustaining Resource advantage (Money and income), and defensive Tactical Advantage (ability to prevent enemies from attacking. If a side has unit advantage, then it's best to go after their resources, tactical advantage prevents this, and unit advantage is needed to get past tactical advantage.

I figured out how to pass lvl 62 with zombies. The zombies do not attack your troops inside of tower walls. So you just build towers everywhere, and try to make as many bottlenecks as possible, use forests as a cover, so that you wouldn't have to put units all along the frontline. Also, you may fill just half of frontline places, with next turn the zombies will enter only the uncovered half, and you can clear them by moving troops from the covered half. So you will move your units back and forth. So bunker in a certain area and keep pressing next round till zombies kill all other enemies, collect enough money and make a huge offensive to wipe out all zombies.

I thought this seemed familiar, this is just the mobile game Antiyoy with a graphical overhaul. A good recreation, but still a clone.

The game glitched out and it says I beat all of the levels in 12 turns. Other than that, this is THE best game on kongregate! 5 stars

Uh-oh, had finished all levels and thought I was done with this (amazing) game, but spotted Conquest mode - there goes my productivity!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
That game was absolutely amazing. I'll take pride in the fact that I didn't get tempted and use a guide for 86 levels. But uh...ya that 87th one was way too insane, so I broke, there.

@DouglasGrave you're going to have make a video because that doesn't work for me. I get past turn two but by turn three they overwhelm me and either walk over my pikemen or outright destroy my village
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@swordmonger: For island 87 ("Foccacia"), build walls of land to cut up the enemy just enough that they can't overwhelm you. You'll want a couple of pikemen to strengthen your walls, the rest as villagers, and don't lose even a single unit in the first three turns. [Turn 1]: Split the middle, including a forward chunk of lower land; [Turn 2]: Hold middle with pikemen, cut back across the top to take a chunk off the right side with villagers; [Turn 3]: Let them break the middle halfway up while you split up the right side towns, cutting through the lower right town's walls with your pikemen; [Turn 4]: Combine pikemen to kill the lower right town with a knight and retake the centre with a new pikeman while they make an upper connection. [Turn 5]: Block the upper right town with a pikeman and you should have enough of an advantage to manage the rest.

Where are the badges? Probably the best game published here during the past six months, high rated by the community - and it's the dull grind games that get badged. Seriously though - thanks for this very nice game, Mike!

@harvsterjj Just beat it on hard in 21 turns. Rush pink off the start and cut off as much of it as possible while alternating spearmen and villagers so he can't isolate anyone, then make sure to take as many tiles as you can to try to connect your lone villages in the next two turns. Forts save you on this level

I imagine multiplayer would be ok, but the single player is not so much strategy, more try your luck and hope the computer opponent doesn't get too smart. A lot of levels requiring too much luck to be considered strategy. And these types of games are just grind resource, buy troops, get land, lose land next turn, rinse and repeat. Reminds me of WW1 history lessons where one side would expend resources and troops to acquire little territory, and then lose it a short while later. Persistence is a virtue yes, but good strategy is something else.

This game is becoming another one of my favourites. I like to play as someone who don't attack anybody unless they attack me. So I claim as much territory as possible without touching any factions. Always allow the enemies territory to touch each other, and fight them as little as possible. They will end up fighting each other while you grow your resource pool.

Lovely game. You did an excellent job slightly tweaking Antiyoy, a phone game I've been playing for years. If you likethis game, download Antiyoy on your phone the original developer some love.
Are you sure a rival didn't for example raze the town where most of the money was stored? In general the numbers you see when you end your turn are just a prediction, if you lose territory during opponent turn (or some of your tiles become newly occupied by bandits for exampel), things may turn out differently.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I was about to say that this is almost exactly like Antiyoy, until I looked it up and realized that they are both based on an old game.

The new tutorials are great! I struggled through the early levels when it first came out, but the new levels and the stuff in the sidebar are excellent. I've beaten all the current content, but the Conquest mode is always good for a match (crowded+unfair is my favorite combo for sheer madness).

The ai does not have infinite resources, and you can't have more troops than oyur economy can supply.
Garbage player who can't do simple math, yes.
The game isn't the issue
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Garbage game. Whats even the point if you cannot build troops as they just turn bandit, while the ai can throw a near infinite supply at you :/

Really loving this game! I had two suggestions:
I would *really* like to know the calculation at the end of the day. We can now see "now/next round". But it would help a lot to get a specification: how much we have now + all the income - all the costs = total.
Another improvement may be the colour schemes. I find it difficult to recognize the different enemies (and sometimes even see how many there are). The colour schemes are all more or less equally confusing and the high-contrast one unpleasant for the eye.

"you've been palying on hard mode all along"
No, I've been playing on insane mode/hard mode all alog. Normal mode is boring, i want to win in spite of the "back stabby", makes it worth the effort. Yes, i have beaten every level.
I wish there were a Player vs Player mode though
