It is ok... Love the look and feel, love the story, just a bit too find this for me and get this from me...
*SPOILERS*
1) I just do not understand why the priest just does not give you the scripture & coin first time you meet, since he wants to help you.
2) the bartender started working there yet his mixer already got behind the wall?
3) Why did the bartender hold on to the crussafix and not turn it in to the lost and found objects?
Im just probably thinking this too much through

I think its funny that the characters name is Matthew and my name is Matthew, but i'm not a ghost hunter like that Matthew is.

"I'm opening up the hotel to ghost hunters, but can't have any ghosts wondering the halls when they get here" classy XD

-unsuprised voice- "oh look, the doors locked." ...?
-same voice- "I am sorry to hear about your grandmother."

Alack! Great but a tad short. I hope there are plans for a series of sequels for there are too many red herrings that do nothing but perplex.

I was surprised about the nice voice acting. Good job. Also well-balanced challenges. One thing I found weird was the French-only voice in the elevator cutscene. Unfortunately I didn't understand a word (because I never learned French). I hope there will be a sequel. However, this is a 5/5 for me.

Good game! Man, western people actually believe that people go to hell to suffer eternally. This is so depressing. And he banishes that ghost with such a mean face.

Because people accept every kind of crap today. This game have potential but is like a tease or a demo. Downvote me but this game don't deserve more than 3 stars

In order to keep the elevator button from the lost and found box I am required to locate a snake. Yeah. Because reasons.

Lots of fun, fairly logical, and a nice balance between not too easy and not too frustrating. I also really loved the Overlook Hotel feel. (Loved the music!) Very nice homage, especially in the bar scenes. I hope to see more about Matthew! (Also, I'm *thrilled* to see this game got a badge. I'd like to see more esthetix games badged.)

That was the darkest environment, in which to try to locate items. :/ The voice acting was awful, the jokes/humor was sub-par, and the game far too short. It had such potential, too...

It was an interesting game. The art was great, and I really liked the characters. The puzzles were intriguing enough to keep my interest, but they weren't impossibly difficult. I also liked the story. While it was short, it was enjoyable. The only complaint I have is the voice acting. I feel that the voices sounded a bit unrealistic and stiff, so the game would have been better off without it. The sounds and music were great though, especially the hotel music.

Sad.. Replayed the game just to try the lock pick set and the sledge hammer on the forbidden door. With the clock/dark upstairs, I thought maybe there was a hidden path to get the forbidden door open :/

Great! Not too difficult but not glaringly simple either. The positioning of the character after entering a room makes it difficult to recognize which direction he is going/coming from. 5/5 - Can't wait for Part II - HURRY! :)

@kerdios: Here's the French in the elevator: "Bienvenue à l'hôtel Ashmore. Nous allons faire un petit voyage ensemble. Je vais vous révéler les secrets du passé. Le fantôme du passé. En 1928 un assasin du nom de Cain séjournait dans cet hôtel. Dans ses affaires, une pièce de monnaie rare. Cette pièce est toujours dans les locaux de l'hôtel. C'est pourquoi Cain de l'a jamais quitté. Vous devez commencer par le bas. Descendez!" Rough translation: "Welcome to Hotel Ashmore. We are going to take a little trip together. I will show you the secrets of the past. The ghost of the past. In 1928, an assassin by the name of Cain stayed at this hotel. In his belongings, a rare coin. This coin is still on the hotel grounds. That is why he never left. You should start by the bottom. Go down!"

The positionning of the character after navigating to another room is very confusing. For example in the basement the guy is near the door, but in fact he arrived from the left and the door is the exit... well 28min to finish, quite bad.

I really like this game already, the only thing I can't stop noticing is that the prophecy says: "Seek the lost soul" but when you look at the small version it says: "Seek for the lost souls". I haven't finished the game yet and this is very confusing.
