btw: not THAT deep game, but really fun, though you need 33% luck 33%speed/concentration and 33% strategy. so: fun. 9/10 ... -> 4/5 (srsly: konggregate NEEDS more stars. 5 stars just do not fit)

Awww,, about 300 crates of tea too few for final order (660 crates. CRAP)
44,625,600 points. A wealthy retirement awaits you! (lol). 2160 crates of tea = 432 Billions of cups tea. With that, Britain population (info from mantil's comment) could drink about 10 cups of tea daily for about 6 years. 2,066 opium crates = 207 milliones of opium users.

YES i got it. Scored 88 Mio :D Tips? buy ALWAYS and EVERYTHING under 50$/c., sell opium always for at least 60$/c.
..well .. that's all^^ and only take ports when the price AND the quantity is good, or else they will close while you only gained 90$ or stuff. when its really cool, like 79 * 99$, you can even TRY to take a risky port. as long as you have a bribe card you can do this all the time. and when they catch you and you have more than 3 ships: ALWAYS FORFEIT SHIP! .. it sounds ridiculous, but your ship isn't worth any 2000$, srsly. do you ever needed .. i mean REALLY needed all a once? greetz from germany ;)

Oww... Order no 8 (510 chests), completed at 11% mood. Had to fastly buy tea, fortunately they were ~50, no "spam buy = high price" event =P

it's a nice concept, but the game is quite buggy! i had to abort the game already two times, because my ships didn't come back from a deal. please fix that, and there you got a great game.

It's not so luck based. I can win every time with a score over 80 million thanks to the advice of catpaw (a few comments below). He says "make *every* deal on a nonrisky port regardless of price (you have to keep them addicted), and make risky deals if there is a hugh quantity (regardless of price)". I'm not sure if you can encourage addiction or not, but getting a good score is about quantity, not about maximizing deals and minimizing risk. I also frequently forfeit my ships if I'm caught. You only need 3, and you can get by with 2.

@HVFreak, if u buy all the time at low prices theres more then plenty time, dont wait until u get order, vote down for u
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
just buy always opium under 50 sell over 50, try selling at risky ports if price is about 90 and 50 crates needed, pay bribe if u get busted, if tea or opium is at low prices ( 10 )buy all the time
120 mil score

Yes, it is to a high degree luck based, but that is an intended part of the game. In the real economic world bad luck also can ruin your whole business. Only badge hunter who get hard badges mostly by using walkthroughs complain about games with luck factor.

@flightfree, you have to trade more opium, make *every* deal on a nonrisky port regardless of price (you have to keep them addicted), and make risky deals if there is a hugh quantity (regardless of price)

holy :O .. i had about 500 opium chests left, played through the whole game and still scored with just 44 Mio Points.. ultimate hard badge -.-
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
How is your score calculated? Because i want the hard badge, but i always get around 75 mil score. Do you have to trade more with opium, or do you have to save up your money?

I find the game pretty good, although a bit unrealistic like some people have said. The design and graphics are cool and the multitasking aspect is quite fun.

I find it weird that I just started learning about the Imperialistic Age in Asia and this game just pops up into my life.

After many failed attempts, i finally won. The hard badge isn't actually all that hard to achieve. once i had finished the game, my score was 120m. Key is to spam buy tea throughout the entire game, Under $50/crate is a bonus. great game and glad I've finally beaten it

Loved the game, and I think most people's complaints are unreasonable; to those who are complaining, chances are that you suck. I played twice, for a total of 15 minutes to beat the game. That was probably the easiest 50 points of my Kongregate career, so stop complaining about the difficulty, it is fine; you are just not doing it right.

Okay, great game and all, but for some reason I've got a glitch? My game won't end. Right now I have 1060 crates of tea, 144 crates of opium, 4031 silver, the ship is 'Due in 1 week' for a few years now (yes, I'm in 1839 and it says 'last shipment'). I've forfeited all my ships to see if it would work, but it doesn't.

man, i had 58 mil, not bad. why im posting is i had crates of tea sold and had 420 billion cups of tea drunk... they really WERE addicted... you think maybe they were putting opium in the tea or something? these people ate, drank, slept, breathed, and deficated tea. but they didn't reuse the deficated tea. thats just gross. they do now though. a clever rename: de-caffinated.

i've played this game about 10 times. the learning curve is steep, and no matter what i do, no matter how the game favors me, i simply run out of time. all i would need is another 30 seconds during 5 different games (in 1837). i keep getting angrier and angrier. i will rate this game as a good one when i have actually beat it.

Very nice economics-themed game. The tea is basically payment to the british to cover your ass smuggling drugs in China sea. I mean, imagine if there were pirates plundering you while at sea, then you get also get caught once you land in a port.
Up to the peak of the opium trade, they really did buy (both tea & opium) at sky-high prices, just to get their fix. That's addiction for you. :P

It's a good, fun game, don't get me wrong, but a few key changes could make it a great game instead of a good game. Either slow everything down, get rid of the cooldown for buying things or at the very least allow us to buy more at a time. It takes weeks comparing the cooldown of buying tea to how long passes in the game and I'm not even sure if you can buy enough tea to fulfill the later orders if you don't have a huge stockpile going into the order.
You have no chance of buying low and selling high if you can only get 120 crates before prices skyrocket. Later in the game if you wait just a bit too long to buy all your tea for the shipments then you'll end up losing because it won't cool down quick enough. And I know you should be buying tea nearly constantly, but when opium and tea prices are high, and every port is being watched so it's nearly guaranteed that you're going to lose your ship and opium on any deal it's a little difficult to get things done.

I like this game alot, you have to be aware and use strategy to make it far in the game. Not many games make you think like that. 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
easy as .it does not matter the opium buy price as long as you sell it for more.i.e. you can buy at 80silver and sell at 85silver its still a profit.do this the entire game and you have enough money buy last tea shipment to pay any amount for the tea

Yay 80,083,512 =D Just made it. Didn't like the game very much, but I was very focused when playing, meaning I was very into it. 4/5

BRUTALIZED IT got caught first time i played then second time got all three achievements and you shoulda had monty pythons spam sketch audio play for the final shipment cause all you do is rampantly click ports til you get enough tea and sell enough opium
