Under rating threshold (show) WOOO!!! I managed to pull it off by following what steeper said "always, always, always buy something." That worked great, I didn't fall behind once, well until the very end I came close to falling behind because my business was so succesful all the ports were "risky". Fun game, challenging enough for me to have to play three times to win.

Under rating threshold (show) Finally, 100m, watch out that after 650 (if you can go on) the game HALVES you opium-reserves, so don't have too much, have lots of money and tea :).

Under rating threshold (show) This is some hard stuff man, when you have like 300 opium but your only getting 1 crate for 40-60 silver in various places... you only have about 1200 silver and your next tea shipment is due in 20 weeks. I just couldn't make the deadline with so little opium demand... demoralizing D=

Under rating threshold (show) Hard Badge: Don't stop buying Opium unless 30 chests costs over 2100$ (70$/chest). Sell opium over 50$/chest to make profit. Keep an eye on the price of Tea.

Under rating threshold (show) Frustrating as hell for two reasons - 1. the game can be un-winnable -> tea is at $64, opium at @82, buyers are only wanting to pay $30-50 while the clipper waits for me to come up with the remaining 300 or 660 tea. 2. 30 crates at a time makes it hard to buy when you want 300 and you can only watch the price jump 400-500%

Under rating threshold (show) Game seems to climb in difficulty fast. I had a risk at every port. Opium was costing more than I could sell it for and tea had sky rocketed to 80 for over 3 years. Is this game just supposed to get so hard you just lose?

Under rating threshold (show) So strange, sometimes the final order is 650, sometimes it is 720. Then I am saving opium and stuff to be able to buy for the 720, but it finishes at 650 (?????)

Under rating threshold (show) First of all, the click-click interface system is AWESOME, but it needs to have better tooltips or explanations as to what the hell you are clicking on. If I click on the dude that says "6 chests for 99" am I buying it or selling it? Should I be looking for high prices in ports or low? Depends whether I'm buying or selling, which I currently can't tell. That's a rather crucial detail, don't you think? This game sort of reminds me of the old VB classic, Dope Wars.

Under rating threshold (show) This game is great. One suggestion, though: let players set their own pre-set trading numbers rather than having just 5, 15, and 30 as the defaults. From my perspective, I never needed to buy less than 30 crates. If I could have had something like 30, 100, and Max, then I would have had a better time. Still having the prices spike when large quantities are bought would be fine.

Under rating threshold (show) Pretty harsh when you can't buy opium because you don't have enough opium to buy more...um, what? Also a bit harsh when 6 of the ports are risky and those are the only ones that continually have more on offer. Could be a great game, too many 'have no control over' factors makes it frustrating though. 3 stars is generous, too bad there isn't a half-star option or I'd give it 2.5 :(

Under rating threshold (show) Need a way to slow everything down, ability to sell extra ships before you lose from lack of funds, able to buy more than 30 at a time. Idiotic that you get nothing for selling the tea.

Under rating threshold (show) Based on my samples, it is better to ship tea on time than let happiness drop in order to get more time for sell opium. More happiness in Britain means bigger tea orders, and the tea shipped appears to garner more points than opium sold.

Under rating threshold (show) Still haven't won, but lost with 110 million points. But didn't get the badge for some reason. The secret is to sell, sell, sell. That's it. Take risks, buy high, sell high, doesn't matter, as long as you keep selling you'll hit the 80 million.

Under rating threshold (show) Wow. I'm doing super awesome. I've got loads of opium and I'm ready for my tea order ahead of schedule... Whats that?! A deal for 57 chests of opium for 99 pounds each?! It might be risky, but I've got a bribe card. Lets go for it!(Sails boat over)...(2 seconds before reaching the deal) "Chinese are doing bad things to you. Give us your bribe card!" (Boat reaches the offer) "Forfeit your boat cause you suck!" Now out of opium and money.... At least I can make my tea shipment on time... "The queen is evil, we want more tea than you actually have!" "Whats that? You have no money, no opium, and not enough tea? Sell your boats for cash."...."Did you want to buy some opium with that cash? Sorry, the prices just rose astronomically" ... ... "And if you buy any, we will take half of it and make sure we break our promise of future compensation"... ... "Twice"

Under rating threshold (show) Hard Badge Guide: Never sit on your money, and always sell even if it's low profit (except at the beginning when you don't have enough boats). Take advantage of low prices, but never spam the buy 30 unless the market just crashed. A good tactic is constantly buying opium then tea (especially later on), because when you toggle buying between them, I found my market rarely soaring for them that way with prices getting out of control. I had almost 300 tea before the second shipment, once I got two boats. You just have to constantly buy tea to win. And as long as you wait a second or two to click the buy 30 again, the market won't crash.
