w00t won :) great game and for the people who wonder why buy and give away tea for free I have three theories:
1. You were supplied ships by some company(or the country) and your job was to smuggle opium and in return you had to supply them with free tea so they could make money.
2.You are trying to keep the British people from rage-killing the Chinese for as long as you can so you can make money, so you simply give them free tea to keep them happy.
3.The game makers made you have some money sink so the game would be slightly more challenging then just buy low sell high and virtually no way to lose

haha this game was fun :) Ended with 126.430.410 score.
In the end you were just spamming trade points and buying stuff, no matter the cost.
4/5 from me

YES! I WIN THANKS TO :
"The instructions are rather misleading, given the way the final score is calculated. It's actually not at all about making your fortune; it's the amount of crates you've traded that really matters. If you have spare money, just buy/sell a lot to raise you statistics, even if it makes no sense from economical point of view. Making profit is a secondary goal, or more of a mean to keep you going. Large quantity deals should be a priority."
AND
"There is only one way to win - watch all of the trends and don't be surprised if you are expected to buy tea at 50-70 while also buying opium at 12-17 and selling at 70-99."
TL;DR: Dont worry about making a profit, just make sure you can buy enough to sell. Profit doesn't matter in the end. My score: 137,098,120
Also, don't buy more than once without buying the other or clicking a trade route.

Oh my god. I bought 15 more tea which would have put me at 365/360. It literally said tea loaded. but I was a split second too late. Still a great game though.

I hate how its relative to how much you have- for making bribes it makes sense, butnot market price. I had about 20,000 silver coins, so prices for both tea and opium stayed around 40-50 coins per chest. It became a cycle of me not buying at outrageous prices and them no going down, until I ran out of opium, and then money.

Just buy and sell as much as you can as fast as you can, just keep track of prices to make sure you make a profit. It is rough in the beginning, but you'll start to build up a huge profit to work with when you need it: several 10,000s. I was buying tea and opium all the time. For most orders I had more than enough tea stockpiled before the English ship came back with the next order, except at the end which was a little close... damn tea prices went up in the 80s, and even though I had plenty of money to keep buying, it is the principal of the thing. Ended with 119million points.

I just got the first badge! :D It's really one of those decent games I'd give a 3/5 to, like JSilvis said, it is really fast paced. Also like Ohimesama said, you should get money when you meet the orders-not just ships -.-...-Dentasi

This gane is awesome. I love the concept. I'd love to see a different version based on the same principle, but with improvements made based on the suggestions given in these comments (some are very good ideas). 5/5.

this need an option to buy more tea at once, I had money, just lose because it was to much slow to buy 30 crates at a time

King "Oh, we appear to have ran out of Earl Gray tea, what a quandry!"
Commander "I'd say! There's no more tea smoke to fill my monacle, it appears we're gonna have to invade China once more"
King "Good luck out there champ"

121,337,440! I think the trick is not in clicking the same buy button 3 times in a row. Make sure to send a ship out or buy something else every so often. That prevents the game from thinking you're on a buying frenzy, even though you're still buying without rest. Still heavily dependent on luck though, since your buying power is based on how low opium prices are and how high you can sell them safely.

It's a good enjoyable game but the problem is, it's too fast paced. You don't have time to make decisions or plan any kind of strategy. You just jump at whatever you can buy because there's no time. Plus the comment f you agree.

Got really fortunate finally and I finished with 33,871,800, my only success to 1839, for some reason my mass tea buy and opium buying during a stable period and a crash (respectively) didn't force a demand based inflation to occur, so the 24,000 I had left over sufficed nicely and I was left with lots of lucrative 80 chests for 90 and above. Very lucky, finally, took a while to finish a game. I can see how people could finish by fluke on their first attempt too.
No idea how to go about getting 80,000,000 since I was buying at selling at a huge profit and how your meant to cover the 570 crates on the last year without having the money BEFOREHAND is beyond me, since I still almost ran out of time!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
also keep your opium count as high as you can, because the number they ask to buy is based on that, like if you have under 100 crates theyll only ask to buy like ten well say, but when I had 500 they would ask four a hundred crates! selling 100 crates for 99 dollars makes a pretty quick profit, and makes the game MUCH easier, and plenty of money to buy the tea that your missing.

106,107,070 ;) what I did is in the beginning when opium prices were low i bought them like CRAZY, and bought enough tea to get by. Throughout the whole game I never sold for under 55 dollars too, and whenever a crash would happen I only bought that and as much as I could constantly clicking the 30(and selling during the rests). I would only buy the tea or opium if it was under 45, unless I really needed it. Hope this helps! oh, and I also beat the game:) at the end I just bought and sold things like crazy once I knew I was gunna win, so I could get the acheivement.

So wait - i spent all my money on tea which I gave to the Brits for free, all so that I can retire with 80,000,000 POINTS? Where can I spend these 'POINTS'?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
being able to use the profits from selling tea in Britain might be nice. For that matter, so would having the folks who make the badges actually play the game. I was ranked as "master smuggler" with just over an eighth of the points required for a hard badge. Maybe it should be made an Impossible badge, neh? I miss having hard badges be the ones that are difficult and rewarding but doable, with the impossible ones being the ones that are just drudgerous whoring. Now, the medium badges are difficult but rewarding, and the hard badges don't even look like the staff plays the game.

Wowow, I expected winning the game to give you a hefty boost in your score so I rushed to get it on the last round even though I had 50k coins, and what do you know my score is lower than my failure of a first attempt which ended up being 42m -.-
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I like the game, but how in the world am I supposed to avoid losing a ship when, out of nowhere, a port changes from not risky to risky? Oh, and also, it is fairly impossible to win the game unless you stock up on a lot of tea before you get any tea orders.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I really dislike how you just give the tea to the Brits without them paying for it. I should be able to make profits in both countries like a true businessman.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I played this game because I saw it say "You didn't smuggle enough opium to satisfy Britain's thirst for tea" when my friend was playing and was really confused... doesn't make any sense until you play lol
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It is literally impossible to meet this demand on time, like you if you had the money you could not buy the tea fast enough. Are you really meant to lose this game that badly?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So much more depth and atmosphere than most games. Not easy, but all the more fun because of it. Only small issue is that your 'supply' of opium, in itself, should not effect overall demand. So if you have 1 crate left, demand should still register above this.

it said i shipped 2160 crates of tea and there were 438billion cups drank thats 200million cups of tea per crate ... i doubt it
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
lol both tea and optium was at 82 and there were ! over practicly every port and i needed 500 more tea... yea i won. just kidding lost

Dekona Rodriquez -- I'm British and I don't know 1 person that drinks at least 5 a day, the most I've ever drunk is 2-3.
