Done. 99,057,960 points... I was at 695 and buying my heart out heading for the last load - and I won. 3,480 crates of tea to Britain. 2,844 crates sold to China.
There is only one way to win - watch all of the trends and don't be surprised if you are expected to buy tea at 50-70 while also buying opium at 12-17 and selling at 70-99. There is a lot of quick deals you have to make to do it. It is also important to balance your purchasing and selling - if you buy too much of anything at once - or sell too much of anything at once, the prices go ballistic.

Each crate of tea is filled with boxes of teabags, teabags are used to make teapots, these teapots go on to create tea cups. That is how they manage to get so many cups of tea out of it. Not to mention these aren't exactly large cups here.

Dude, the tea isn't drank by Britons alone, but it is sold to Britain and they sell it to the rest of the world (PS, Brits do drink a lot of tea, at least 5 cups a day, well most I know)

If you need (or want) a lot of tea or opium all of a sudden, don't click on the same buy tea/opium button 5 times in a row - that'll trigger the "frenetic buying" event. Make a sale or buy just 5 of the other resource every few times. (Upvote please!)

I would love a game like this that was turn based, had more choices, let you spend money on ships, upgrading them, bribes, etc. This one just gets too hectic after a while.

Pretty nice game, for the time it lasts. But really? A hard badge? At least make it somewhat difficult then, I got 119 million on my first try.

All it needs is an ability to sell ships whenever you want, rather than when you run out of cash. Then you can sell off a few ships to buy the final shipment.

alright, so i just played and never had a trade opportunity. I sat through 5 minutes of the game with no chance to increase my capital. cool.

No restart feature? Combine that with VERY crappy instructions and I'm a bit sick of hitting refresh in my browser trying to understand how to play.

Step 1: Buy Opium. Step 2: Sell Opium. Step 3: Go to jail (Death Penalty Bonus if you are actually in an asian nation!) OR skip to straight to step 4. Step 4: Opiate withdrawal - Daily Withdrawal Bonus Quests: Quest 1: sht in pants for 5 gold (or pee in pants 2.5 gold). Wish you were dead for 10 gold. Escape from rehab for 20 gold!! What are you waiting for?!... Hmm... One raised eyebrow = giving it one point.

As mantil points out, the conversion from chests of tea shipped into cups of tea consumed is clearly wrong. Assuming that a teaspoon of tea (which is enough to make a cup) weighs 5g, 200,000,000 cups of tea per chest equates to 40 tonnes! 40 kilos (about 90lb) sounds more likely so I think they're out by a factor of 1000 or so. Having said that, the game works pretty well. The game play is good and the risk of sending opium to 'risky' ports is high enough to make you think about it but low enough to keep the game interesting.

finally got the name of the game while sitting in class this morning.
High cuz of the opium, Tea because of the tea, yet still a play on the phrase "High Seas"
i lol'd in the middle of class.

a bit too easy to get the hard badge, just make sure you buy tons of opium and tea when they're cheap, and don't worry too much about getting top prices for your opium (as long as you turn a profit you'd benefit more from selling massive quantities than you do by waiting for the best price)

Wonderful game with beautiful graphics. Just wish there was a 'restart' button for those aspiring for the 80 mil badge, sometimes you get off to a rocky start and want a do over

An alright game. I don't like how the game keeps prices at such a ridiculously high price of 70+ for such a long time, reduces how much time you have each round and makes every port a risk near the end and expects you to succeed.

in what universe is assload of low paying risky customers a business opportunity ?
no wonder the economy is going straight to hell

Doesnt anyone else wanna know what the captain must have done to put him in a situation where he owes britain a never ending supply of tea which they dont have to pay him for?

Two things. 1, you really need to be able to buy more than 30 chests; it feels like you have to constanly push the buy 30 tea button to be able to get enough tea in time by the end which eliminates a large bit of buying tactics. 2, the game needs a restart button. All games should have one.

this game is so cool if only life was like that but we have yots and jet boats and jet packs i give this game a thumbs up

I think it needs some ability to sell the ship anytime, not just when the popup window appears. In late game when Im trying to get 300 more tea and I have 2 opium and 200 money, it should be very useful. + if you agree
