i did it 50 50 and it works for me...
when ever under 50 price buy when ever over 50 sell
count for tea + opium
when the last tea ship is announced just buy tea 30 the whole time
got the hard badge in the 3rd try

British Tea Clippers "hey man, were gonna be there in 42 weeks" *tea clippers arrive and take 60 crates* A FEW YEARS LATER... Tea Clippers "uuuum hi were gonna be there in like 5 weeks and take 1000 crates KKTHANXBAI"

Near the last order both opium and tea stay at such a high price and like half of the ports are risky. It is too hard to meet the final order.

The random aspect of the game is what ruins it for me. I got to the final shipment, and lost all 5 of my ships simply due to the fact that both the opium and tea prices were hovering in the mid 80s range and wouldn't go down. The only way for me to make a profit was to hit the risky areas. It was either that or the ports offering 15 per crate...

by the end of all this (historically speaking) Britain was shipping 39,000 crates of opium to China a year... @ $1,000 dollars per crate, that's quite a bit. When you convert it to today's values, that's barely shy of $1,000,000,000 (1 Billion with a B) a year Britain was making selling to China. Over 90% of the male population in China was addicted to opium.

1st play through I win the game but with on 72 million points. Second play through, near the end the opium price remains high way to long, I lose, but manage to get over 80 million points because I played better early on WTF.

Game definitely needs bigger numbers on purchase and sale especially since making the deal locks you from buying any more.

It seems that a whole lot of trouble could be saved if the British bought the plants instead of the tea itself. Then every little Brit could have their own plant to fuel their addiction although I doubt one plant would cover 14 cups a day for 9 years

Wow... so you really need to push for the profits to get a high score. First time I played, I lost. Second time I played, I avoided all risky ports and tried to buy opium and tea only when it was under 30-50 each. My score there was 13 mil. I just played again. Start out semi-cautious but try to cater to everyone. If they buy at 99 and the price is 98, I'll still go for it. Every single profitable transaction gets a boat sent out regardless of how risky it is. I had a few turns where half the map was locked down. Final score here - 92.8 mil. So final tip... if you can make a profit, regardless of how much it is, go for it.

Fun but gets incredibly hectic towards the end. The key for me to get the hard was to always buy as much as i can of tea when it was low so i have plenty when the english start ordering quicker

I'll never be able to drink a good cup of tea again without giving a moment's respect for the drug dealers who suffered to bring it to me.

Beat the game at a lower score than when I lost and got 80K. You get the same ending, I know its history so you can't change it but maybe toss a video or or a song ala nerdook.

AznGuy: ...it's great trading fun and makes it supremely easy to forget that you're ruining the lives of millions in pursuit of profits! =)
<----- Yeah. TEA KILLS!

beat it second time, as long as you get to the last level you should be good (I'd rate this up)
last level's nigh impossible though, how the ell can you send 720 shipments? I think i might have gotten lucky to make it that far XD

I usually comment about poor design and programming like no reset button and offers becoming less frequent the longer the game is played, but this game fails at the concept level. Trading games are easy to create and very difficult to make fun. If prices are mostly random, the game will be bad. High Tea manages to make other games in this genre look good. Offers appear randomly so the game can be lost without one offer (happened to me.) Tea needs to be bought constantly since the fastest purchase rate is too slow to fill the final orders. Refresh often, and pray to the RNG. (Yes, I developed the guide for Pandemic 2, which is much less dependent on the RNG than High Tea.)

Mmm still had no luck, the last game I could have filled the order if only I could buy more than 30 chests in that arduously long time, the prices for tea and opium only dropped from 70 in the "danger zone" time, and before then I'd expanded all my silver filling the last order (all 19,000 of it, opium and tea were both at a premium the entire time). So when I was trading quickly making and spending money and filling the order, I couldn't get the tea in fast enough. Which sucked. Because that had been going well.
Good game, but the crucial crux of luck and the unfortunate nature of the timed events (I have noticed certain peaks and plummets happen at certain years) means that winning is all down to sheer quick trading ability and good fortune.

So the price on tea goes from 90 a crate because of my excessive demand, to 10 a crate due to a stock market crash, to 90 again because I bought too much. All within 20 weeks.

i had a very close call with tea but managed to get it last second. the game accepted it and showed me the new deadline. i lost the game in this moment though :/ bug :(

Its a rough game at the very end I'd have to say. The prices for me were 70+ the entire time and almost every port was risky. It is very fun though and I got 64 million points on first try. Good game, make it better though.

So everything is going fine, I'm on the last shipment, and prices are sky high, but I have to buy it because I'm running out of time. Then I send out ~300 opium in 4 big shipments to make some much needed cash, and the ALL get nailed, and I can't bail any of them out. Then I lose half of my remaining opium to the cop guy (which is only like 20). Then I see an order for as much as I have left, and click it before I see the sell price....21 :( I crash right at the end with ~1500 silver, 3 opium, 1 ship (had to sell my other one), and the Brit's at my port, 400 tea short. Oh yea, and prices of each were 70+ Started to recover a little bit, but ran out of time..93mil score. Fun game, and I love the concept. 5/5

i wish you could buy other ships, sell your ship whenever you want, make money from tea, and this is an unlikely stretch but have a way of influencing the market, like the bribe cards mayhaps
