I can win consistently. Just have restraint: only buy when the prices are low, and only sell when the prices are high. Avoid risky ports completely (except for making one calculated risk when you have the bribe card and using it when you get caught). For much of the game I just sat on my money and waited until prices were favorable.

1834 is winnable. I in fact didn't even sell any opium that year. 1835 ate my profits like mad because tea was priced in the 40+ (1836 was worse).

I really like the concept and hope hard for a sequel with longer gameplay and upgrades and stuff. Besides being a bit simple there's just one thing truely wrong with the game and thats the low buy-in numbers compared to high question for the product. There aren't much economics involved if I have to constantly buy tee because I'm to late if I only buy it when the price is good.

Why doesn't Brittan just grow up and wait a few more weeks for their damn tea, it's time they were introduced to coffee and marijuana.

"A wealthy retirement awaits you" I should think so considering that I was single-handedly running 2 complete industries in several different countries.

British are so proper that tea is an addictive drug campared to an ordinary joe that cocaine is addictive,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so proper

I think the time limits are to force you to sometimes buy at suboptimal prices. In real life you can't suddenly round up infinite providers, the market can only ever provide so much.

When I first read the title of this game I thought it was going to be some sick game based on the events in Haiti...Turns out it's about selling opium for tea. Bet you never though that would be the moral high ground? 5/5

I don't see how someone can win this game unless they get lucky and have prices incredibly low >_>. For a long portion of the game the prices of both were had a modifier of 60+. That, coupled with about 2/3 of your ships getting seized if it wanted any chance of turning a decent profit make this game a little frustrating. Nice concept, but seems like it needs some work.

guys, I think the fact that we are giving the tea away for free is just what this games try too teach us. Britain imported a lot of tea at the cost of hundreds of chinese who got an opium addiction.

I really would like it, if you were able to sell ships anytime. There's not much sense in having five boats and tea-shipments would be more sensefull.

Nice game you got there. Market trends are realistic and yes, trading is an harsh business, however, buying only 30 crates at a time makes it even more difficult. Found myself clicking like a maniac on the 30 opium when the price was in the 20s and less just so I could buy enough opium to last through the next high price times. But then again, I suppose that smuggling 500 crates would be a bit too much noticeable than 30 if this was in the real world...

good example of a historical game, but a little limited. sad that my very own home city was founded by the British to poison millions of my countrymen back in China with drugs. Yes, and every conveniently forgets that opium is a (non-medicinal) drug.

After a while it just becomes impossible to buy tea on time because of the 30 crates at a time maximum, even if you have enough money...

I got a lower score fulfilling the tea orders on time then just focusing on opium trading and saving tea till the last second...
