For me, this game has some truly great aspects and a few horrible aspects. The dialog and atmosphere are great, the art is fantastic, some of the puzzles take forever/are broken/don't make any sense. I love how the world expands in the beginning, I think the game is too long for what it is... Lots of extremes.

Good game, intelligent concept, great story.
I did find some spelling errors:
"He's busy with he's laptop."
"I'm hoping it will give me better understading of the subject."
"Aperantly he was in pretty bad shape when he got here."
"And started my own independant research."
"I can't rule it out comepletely."
"I don't think it'll help her with her recearch."
"Why does she have papers from 'Green Hills Mental Instituion'?"
Looking forward to the sequel.

Somebody call the Orkin man - buggy like a Louisiana Bayou.
Had to restart twice, just to make certain things were done in a certain order, per the walk-through. Then found a third bug that required a wipe and restart. Sorry, but if you need to back up to complete something, there should be a reverse path. or at a minimum, incremental saves to allow a restore point (HINT: see the term checkpoint). The puzzles were fine at first, but grew increasingly more bizarre as the game progressed. To quote Grace Slick, logic and proportion have fallen softly dead. in summary, Chapter one was good. This one is, unfortunately, following the trend of sequels. junk.

I really enjoy these games. Not only are the puzzles well-designed and fun to figure out, but the lore behind the Splitting is really well written and interesting. It's a fun world to play around in, and I'm glad I had the chance to. Can't wait for the next one!

Possible bug. Couldn't figure out the locker puzzle, so went to the walkthrough. Found out I have to look at the puddle of dried blood BEFORE talking to miJ. If you talk to him, then look at the puddle, then talk to him again, he will not ask for help.....

well... the puzzles are not as crazy as in the first one... but daniel is way more impractical in this one, i mean, he could spare the whole fingerprint thing by just flipping the switches in the mirror world and see if the tv in the mirror world went off (or apliying the fingerprit powder on the mirrow world as well, since reflections touch it too)... or duplicating the key with the mirror duplicating thing... or putting the desk on one side in stead of pulling of 6 books (or using the bed actually) or breaking the vase twice for God's sake... well, i still got to play the whole thing, and enjoyed despite thinking that daniel was kind of stupid sometimes xD

Kind of a dick move for the badge to needle people who use a walkthrough and then make the problems so arbitrarily complex that a walkthrough is needed (because common sense doesn't work).

Okay, I found the puzzle to be more easy than in the first. Still the story was good and I gave 5/5 because there isn't a lot of story based webgames here.

Great story, first and foremost. We can quibble all day about the validity of a few of these puzzles, but your story line will keep me coming back regardless. 5/5.

There are so many instances where the game denies the more simple solutions to puzzles that it really takes away from the game. I quit playing halfway through because this sort of illogical contrived difficulty is not fun at all.

Erm... does the badge not award if I load a previously completed save game? Do I seriously have to go through this saga again?

Remember how you take the mirror-key for the backroom in the pub from behind the counter and don't put it back there? That made me kinda sad cuz what do you think will happen when the pub owner takes the key and uses it to open the backroom with it? yea exactly, his mirror image can't do that so there will definitely be some kind of problem. The main character in this series is a really ignorant and careless person, that's why this kinda stuff happens. He would've done it again with the old receptionist lady, if miJ hadn't stopped him! :o

So, what happened to the garden shears I had at at the end of the first chapter...I could use those to cut the fence in the Real World East Wing of the Asylum, right?
And why doesn't he want to go back to the maze of rooms anymore? He could easily use the key-mirror-reset-trick again for the fuse box key... I really liked the first chapter but in this second chapter there's some stuff that just doesn't add up so I'll only give 3/5 stars.

Annnd... completed. The only time I needed to use a walkthrough was for the fishook through a mirror thing (Broom + hanger). Great game, faved and rated 5/5!
